30+ year goth here- I usually just use the lightest possible base and a white powder ( in the 80's we used baby powder) to create a more natural looking pale face, to avoid that cakey clown look. Don't forget to blend down the neck and ears. Also, get creative with it, goth is about individuality so don't be afraid to experiment with colors as well as black.
Please make this into a series! Trying different styles of alt makeup 😍

Sponge on the white paint in a couple layers next time. It will be less patchy and crusty. I also powder dry white foundation on too.

Edit: Long time goth, here. And yes, I usually apply foundation to my ears and neck. It looks more cohesive and less mask-like.

I tried goth make-up once and I had black and white paint everywhere for weeks. I was very thorough when I applied black paint to my neck… never again. I have so much admiration for people that are goth and dedicate their time not only into creating these types of looks but also removing them.
Finaly my degree is of use to me 😅 like where are you supposed to look up random made up word? As a linguist don’t listen to people that give you hard time for using urban dictionary, firstly, I love it, secondly, my professors loved to use it. Thirdly, just because a word is used daily it doesn’t mean it’s in a traditional dictionary - so many neologisms are formed every day no one would be able to keep up with every day life and it takes years for a word to be considered worth putting into dictionary (updates are made after 10-15 years) and as final point not every word will be used long enough to be even considered acknowledged by academics and put into regular dictionary. For example, most words that were used durring the CoV were never put into any dictionary that is made by some academic institution because most of them are not even used nowadays.

Next time, use very very pale foundation instead of literal white face paint. Use a lot less than what you did here and blend all the way down to your neck, and don't forget your ears too! Then use a white concealer (colourpop has one) for the middle parts of your face ie: the sides of your nose, under eyes, cubids bow, and chin. Also could had some to the inner part of your cheeks, right in the center of your face. Blend the bits of white gently outwards into your pale foundation. You would kill this look! The way you did your base here is giving "goth mime" lol😅. Which is cool too but not what you were aiming for I don't think. Can't wait to see how you improve in the future! Thanks for the video
I started getting into goth and punk music in 86 and never once have I worn white-face. Nothing 'trad' about it, because most of us back then didn't wear it and it was considered a very over the top style even for the clubs back then. Friends don't let friends wear white-face.

Best thing to do is find a korean foundation cause they are pale asf or a foundation thats lighter then you then find a extra white concealer and a white face powder...im tanner then you so idk if this will help, but hopefully it does idk 😂

The makeup looks really neat but it’s not really “trad goth” this actually looks more like a modernized version of it, especially cause of the white base ! It’s pretty popular now especially on tiktok ! I think it looks cool tho :] but if you want an actual more trad goth look then I recommend trying to look up more for pictures from the 80’s- 90’s goths. And also if you wanna get more involved into the actual goth subculture past the looks then you need to listen to the music, and form looking up goth bands and such you will get more fashion and makeup inspo ! Those are some really classics goth bands for the 80’s but I really love The Cure (I recommend listening the the album Disintegration) Siouxsie and the Banshees (she influenced goth fashion a lot so I def recommend looking up pictures of her if you want a look that ressemble more traditional goth !!) Bauhaus and Sisters of Mercy ! But again your makeup looked really cool and I like it a lot !!

The research into trad goth is appreciated but your reference photos are not it. Definitely look into the original 80s trad goth makeup instead of the tik tok trad goth makeup you see everywhere online. It’s not an accurate representation
