If all goes well it should bloom for 3 months, since the flowers do last quite well & as smaller buds get to bloom stage as older ones die off & even more new buds form just when you think it's over. The three stages i witnessed on mine last year were buds forming at different stages, basically managed to get it blooming 3 times over the coarse of 3 months as it flowered continually in that time. Most likely due to relatively new soil & lots of nutrient including blood & bone pellets. I Seem to recall Brent mentioning on his hybrids that if he gave it a number of doses of fertilizer he'd get 3 sets of bloomings on his tricho's rather than just one set. Currently my xmas plants are all outside in afternoon sun from around 1pm. Seem to be doing ok if some what of a paler green look. Once again i find the so called indirect sunlight theory just that a theory & not based in fact, even epiphylums seem to like lots of direct sun apart from scorching sunlight either side of midday

I've read reports from other Schlumbergera growers that the red and pink flowered ones are the hardiest. The more unusual colours can be a bit fussy at times.
It’s interesting that this budded out under lights… when I looked up how to get them to bloom, I have found that people put them in darkness. For a month or two just before they are wanted to bloom. Maybe it’s just a method to get them to bloom for the holiday we associate them with.
Planning to buy this cactus and collect all its varieties that are available here. I saw some pink, red, white, cream, and yellow colored-flowers of this when I went to a plant shop.
By the way, that icing tool is a nice hack. Will try that one with some of my root-bound cacti potted in terracotta pots. I usually break the pots when removing a cactus from terracotta.

Speaking of holiday cactus… I have a future video topic idea… maybe you could do a video showcasing all your white fuzzy ‘snow ball’ cacti and give us their names and talk about their growing habits and flowering habits. If you haven’t done one yet. I just started collecting white snowball cactus for Christmas displays… I have two. Do not recall the names just now.
