Iam technically a beginner bc the first ag doll I got was molly in the 90's when I was a kid and Iam getting a Maryellen doll for Christmas this year, my first American girl doll I had in almost 30 years

Good video, I liked your picks. I don't tend to do much with my dolls' hair but I know a lot of people like to style theirs. I have Kit, Maryellen, Joss, 39 and 89 and I agree they are all pretty easy, especially Kit and 39.
I actually have Isabelle and her hair for me is kinda hard to maintain since she has clasps in her hair im gonna get those replaced eventually at the doll hospital but i find that i need to brush it every few days because it gets so tangled otherwise

I used to have kit then she went missing and then my mom found her but she had to through her away bc she was in a bag outside that got rained on son she had mildew and stuff on her also that was my first ag doll and my sister got for me
My first doll was Joss but her hair is very thin and harder to maintain her hair I so soft when you first get her but over time it gets crunchy on the ends bit she is such a cute doll definitely recommend her but my dolls know have such soft hair because I have so many I have literally ever doll on this list and even more I started about two years ago and know I have 36 dolls
I have actually just ordered myself a secondhand Kit with some Christmas money! She'll be my fourth American Girl doll and I'm so excited to get her. Most of the secondhand Kits I looked at had hair in pretty good condition (and we've all seen what "pre-loved" doll hair can look like!) which seems to support her being easy to care for!
Ultimately I think the best doll for anyone, young or old, is the doll who will bring them joy and spark their imagination. A doll that stands the test of time certainly helps with that, though. 😉 I recently did some work on my most beloved childhood doll, Molly, whose hair was quite worn out. I'm happy to see her fixed up, but I definitely don't regret how much I played with her as a kid either. She brought me a lot of happiness then, and she still does. I hope this guide helps some other people get started on a wonderful doll journey!
A mother ask this question for her daughter for Christmas. Knowing that she didn’t want historical and she wanted a doll of color I chose Maritza . Hair for days for fun for hours.
I got my second American girl doll when I was about seven or eight and it was a Caroline. I DO NOT recommend Caroline as a first or second doll because mine has very frizzy hair and it was hard to take care of.
Oh my goodness my sister got Caroline as a first doll (a NIGHTMARE for her hair ) it got snarly although she combed it
My first Doll was a CYO. That I named Noel and I got her in December of 2017.

My first doll was Grace Thomas and I got her for my 6th birthday. Her hair is in such bad condition now and I also have Samantha and I got her when I was 7 and I messed up her hair too. Luckily now I know how to take better care of my Dolls!
My first dolls were #’s 22 and 60. Those are the easiest to take care of. However, #22 is now retired. The Our Generation brush comes with a small water bottle and brush. The textured hair is actually very easy to take care of. The next would be wavy hair. I have started to like getting a GOTY doll and any doll with a story. I love the blue eyes and dark brown hair in # 60. I have # 68 who’s hair is similar to Joss’ hair.
My first doll was Cecile and I have to say that it was a bad decision for a first doll because I completely destroyed her hair sadly. But I got her at a charity fundraiser so the money did go to a great cause! My next doll I got was 39 and I still have her after 10 years and she is still in great condition!
I had gotten my first doll in 2006, and it was Felicity. She was great to work with because all her hair was usable, I did lose the pincurls for a while and dug them out years later. Her hair held up well and had a cute little flip on the end. Is she even sold by AG anymore?
In comparison my second was Nikki, and oh boy was that a mistake. Even to this day I have never done much with her hair because of how curly it is and I still don't know how to style or work with curly hair.
Yes Felicity was one of the first dolls ever made by American girl, so she is not sold anymore. But I’ve always wanted Nikki!

I got my fist doll at 5 and it was pretty expensive and I don't think I needed it I have more now but my first doll is not in the best condition but she is ok for my first doll

What is a Half Updo?
I think it’s a hairstyle where you put a ponytail in the back of the dolls hair and leave the rest down.
