Welcome to this channel, My name is Yvonne. I'm a soap maker in Taiwan, if you like my videos, pls. subscribe and click the bell for notification.
If you are new to soap making, pls. make sure you read the SDS of sodium hydroxide carefully and put on your gloves, mask and google to protect yourself before starting.
Houttuynia Cordata is really popular recently, as the main ingredient of the Covid-19 prescription, it's in a shortage now. Luckily, I have a large pot in my rooftop garden, and I picked up some to make soaps. Besides the medical function to lung, the benefits to skin are also significant .

They look beautiful! The essential oil combination must smell fantastic. I love all the stamps you have, they highlight each soap. Thank you for sharing Yvonne.

I’ve never seen this plant used in soaps before. We refer to it as Fish Mint due to the odor of the plant and native to Japan and China. Quite interesting people use this in soap. I’ve consumed dried as a tea steeped in hot water and it’s not as bad as they’re dried but I wouldn’t drink it everyday, it’s a medicinal tea when I have issues or want to improve health. But in a raw form, it smells extremely strong, people avoid this plant it smells so strong. It also smells distinctive fishy I think hence the name fish mint. It’s considered a weed in my country here in Japan. People get rid of this plant. Once it grows in your yard you spend your days pulling this weed days after days lol 😆 It loves a wet condition in a shade and grows wild and even if you pull it out it keeps coming back, yeah... Too strong. Extremely invasive weed.

This is Fish Mint or often called Chameleon plant. It smells fishy if you eat them. And in where I live referred as Poison Blocking plant and native to Japan and China. They’re extremely invasive plant and grows in the wild in Japan where I live. It’s everywhere and it grows in a shady wet lands wild, this is not typically cultivated and treated as a weed and needs to be pulled out but they keep coming back... It’s often dried to be consumed as tea for traditional Japanese medicine. The leaves and stalks turn brown and we drink it. It has peculiar flavor but considered a medicinal tea. The plant itself has extremely strong odor raw but dried it’s consumable as tea.

Lovely video as always. Do you clean or tidy your soap as soon as you’ve cut them and also can you do a video of stamping both sides of the soap? Link for your beveler? Thanks.
