Hello from Ouray! New subscriber here. Thank you for sharing this awesome video! We have a small Outdoors RV on order; it should be being built this week. Then it has to get delivered to our local ORV dealer in Poncha Springs CO. By the time that all happens, I suspect it would be into October and all of our forest service roads will be closing. So…I suspect we will be heading west into the Utah desert. This will be a great spot to visit this winter! We have a long haired German Shepherd, so it is best we do our desert trips in the winter. I will work for another 5ish years, so we mostly plan to do 1-2 week boondock trips per month (I get lots of 1-2 week blocks of time off). We will mostly do those trips in our state of CO and the immediate surrounding states. After 5 years, we will start doing 1-2 month trips to focus on a specific region of the country on each trip. It is like a national park where we live. So, we will return home for a month or so between trips. Safe travels!
That's awesome! I hope you guys have a great time. Give yourself some extra time for places like oregon because like Colorado it has thousands of sites worth seeing.
Great video! Curious if you thought the drive to Peek-a-boo or to Cutler Point was more intense? We did Peek-a-boo last weekend in our Wrangler and didn't have any issues, but reading mixed reviews about how difficult Cutler is. Thanks!

Hi! So happy I found your video - the research I did for this sounds similar to yours. The internet has almost no information on it! Do you think the 'deep soft sand' could be tackled in a Subaru Crosstrek with Lo range?
Hey Sam I think if you kept your momentum up and have a good amount of clearance it may be possible. There is a center sand mound that is probably 6-7inches deep in-between the tire tracks on the road. If you have enough clearance to pass over that I think you will be fine. If however you do not have the clearance then you would have to plow through it the whole way which may make it harder. My advice would be to have some offroad tire grip boards and to not stop or slowdown while on the road. Best of luck and come tell us how it went when you get back. :)

Hey cloudless_days I would say it took us 45 minutes to a hour once we got off the highway, I think it would have been a bit quicker if we didn't take a wrong turn. Don't be afraid to open and close the gates along the way. They are public lands gates and you are allowed to go through them. Have a great time and let us know how it goes.

You seem like the perfect couple to share your perspective and spirit of adventure, as well as very unique production values. My question is on your technical aspects and preplanning to get your shots. In reality, with all your elements, how long did it take in total to do this adventure shoot? Do you plan on the fly or do you have a preconceived idea of what you are going to capture? What devices did you use, particularly for your overheads of your truck travel, your hike, and the alcove site? Did you have a third party? Finally, what programs do you use for editing? Hey Linda I just went and measured the actual hike if you are able to drive to the point we were at and on Google maps it says it is about 1/3 of a mile each way. I hope this helps!

@@rockinroamin1958 we always offload the camper before going to places like this. But we do have four-wheel-drive and max tracks if we ever need them.

Hey yunchao, we went in early afternoon. The cove faces east so if you want light inside the cove go earlier.

Did you lower your tires or do you remember what PSI did you have?
We don't because we don't have a way to air back up but if we did have a on board air compressor we would. We were probably at 48-50psi

Hey Ashlee, it took us about an hour from the time we left the main highway. If we didn't get lost though we probably could have done it in 45 minutes
