Hey this is what I was looking for, I am moving to japan in march 2025 with interac. Can you please make more videos about that like what happens when you land in Japan, the orientation, training and first day of the school and your first lesson plan introduction and such all the expenses and formalities. This would be very helpful. Thanks
Congrats on getting a position with Interac 🎉 I’m sure you’re excited to move here! I’d love to make more videos on those topics! I am planning to do one talking about the first day I went to my schools, the first day I had classes with my students etc. and it should be up sometime this year 🌻
This was very helpful, thank you sooo much. I was wondering if you could please do a video on tips you might have for registering at the city hall and or opening a bank account etc when you first arrive in Japan for those who can’t speak Japanese. Thanks for the video once again, have a great day 💫
Hi ☺️ When I first got here, someone from my company came down with me to the city hall to register my residence card as well as to the post office to open a bank account, so I relied on them to talk to the staff 😅 But if you’re moving to a big city, the staff at the city hall should be able to speak simple English! Sorry I couldn’t be of more help 🙇🏻♀️
I hope the video was helpful! The Japanese yen is also going down 🥲 It’s good if I’m changing money to yen, but horrible if I want to change it to Singapore dollars 😭
@@iamthanos554 First interview as in the preliminary interview and group orientation? For both interviews, my advice would be to appear as cheerful as you can be! ALT dispatch companies are looking for people who can stay in Japan and be able to work with the Japanese teachers for the length of the contract, so just make sure you know all the culture shocks you can expect to experience, and be able to share how you expect to be able to overcome those culture shocks!
@@iamthanos554 They will ask if you need some time to prepare after telling you what they want you to teach for the demo, so take your time to think it through, and use really simple English when teaching! Don’t forget your smile and you’ll be fine 😁 A lot of ALTs don’t have teaching experience before coming to Japan so you don’t have to worry too much about the teaching demo! Just smile and do your best.
You don’t need 75万円to come to Japan. Japan is so cheap these days. Scrimping and saving is what you need to do back home. Splurge in Japan while you can.
@@goldguilder9554 Including flight tickets, I scrimp and saved wherever I could to survive on about 50万円 until my first salary came in haha but I know some ALTs who had to buy furniture because their apartments were unfurnished or those who had to pay more than 20万円 just to move in to their apartments… I just saw a Reddit post today that they updated the requirement so ALTs have to provide proof of at least $6000 in their bank account 😰 It’s getting crazier and crazier!!

@@LisaLostInJapan Aww okay, no problem. Thanks for replying ❣️❣️
Is it compulsory to stick to the company's accommodation??
What if I want to get my own accommodation, will the company allow me to do that?
@@edwardkoomson6758 You can find your own accommodation if you want! Quite a few ALTs chose to do that 😄

@@LisaLostInJapan given how low the salary there is in Japan you’ll be returning with less than what you start with
