Oh my gosh! This is so well-researched!! I used a pocket wifi back in 2018. I'll probably just do that the next time as well. It seems potentially more pricey, but it seems like a more straight-forward option. Great job!
Thank you so much for this video! I purchased a SIM card at Haneda airport but next time, I think I'll get the pocket WIFI! Thank you for making this video! ❤

Thank you for the great info, we will try esim for the first time. We always used pocket Wi-Fi before. If you could make a video on haneda to Tokyo would be cool. I’m going in 2 weeks and will try use the monorail from haneda. Thanks as always Mahalo and Aloha.
I'll be in Osaka/Kyoto and Tokyo from April 13th, arriving in Tokyo, I usually use a lot of internet per day! Which do you recommend I buy? and how to buy? thanks for the great video!
Thank you for such a helpful video! Where do we enter in the coupon code for Ninja Wifi? I don’t see an option on the reservation page when checking out. Thank you!
It's on the first page of the application form. It's the page where you choose the Data Plan. At the very bottom of that page, there is a field to enter the Coupon code :)
Thank you for your comment! Some stores are open until around 11:00 PM. For more details, please check the websites of Wi-Fi providers or other relevant companies.
I will be arriving at Osaka International Airport (ITM). There are no counter pickup for pocket wifi with Ninja Wifi. Is there another option to pick it up? Or do you know any pocket wifi vendor that is at this airport? Thank you.
Will there be a possibility to get Esim with Japan Local Phone Number cuz I will come to work in Japan for long term or in that case only physical sim card works with Japan local ph number?
Hello, i need internet when visiting Japan this year but I'd like to have unlimited data. Should I buy a sim card (with unlimited data), or is it a better option to get the pocket wifi router instead (also has unlimited data)? thanks!
Thank you for your comment. There is a coupon code entry field at the bottom of the Ninja Wi-fi application page. If it's not there, please try contacting Ninja Wi-fi.
@@yukiagu - Thank you, I'll do that. Just for cya, I spoke with T-Mobile customer service and they said that it would work. I don't know why they bother to have that department... most of the times I've spoken with them, they're really useless.
They told me that too and it didn't!!! I ended up having to get a SIM card at Haneda airport as soon as I got there because my cell was not working and I couldn't even let my family in the USA know I made it safely. Next time, I'm going to follow this guidance from Samurai Jinjiro and look into all the other options. Safe travels to Japan! 🇯🇵⛩👘🍱🍣❤
Arigatoo Samurai Jinjiro for this!!! Can you also include Haneda airport too next time? I prefer (well alot of my friends and family do) Haneda airport because it's close to Tokyo! Arigatoo ❤❤❤
Sim cards are better Buy one for each member of your family / travel group That way you can split up when you're at like Shibuya / Shinjuku / Disney as each person may have a different interest and you can then regroup later without any problem using your chat app

We did a lot of research to make this video, but understanding all of these was really tough! But I think we made a good video! ^^
I would love to go to japan one day and can you do a video on understanding japanese money.
eSIM. Install it a few days before landing. Switch to it when you land. Done. No extra thing to charge or keep track of.
That is also a good option!

We are not sure if pocket Wi-Fi from outside Japan can be used in Japan, so please check with your pocket Wi-Fi company.

After predetermined data usage period ends for example like 15 or 30 days do you need to buy a new Sim card?
Thank you for your comment.
Once the deadline has passed, please purchase a new SIM card.
@@samurai_junjiro so it's disposable after using, thanks 👍
@@gabriellanoelle1606 Hello, I haven't tried it yet and I was only asking for research purpose 😅
Can we rent pocket wifi to be picked up at Nagoya airport then return it in Narita airport?
Yes, you can. It was written on the website :)

Hi. I just want to ask. Can you share your internet from your phone to your laptop using sim card?
Is it possible to collect pocket WiFi at Osaka airport and return it at Haneda Airport? We are flying in and out from different airports
Yes, it says on this page that you can pick up and return at different airports :)

@@samurai_junjiro Many thanks for the advice...
Can I use the data only SIM card on my personal pocket Wi-Fi device?

ty but how to pay the data plan without my bank account in japan
Will there be a possibility to get Esim with Japan Local Phone Number cuz I will come to work in Japan for long term or in that case only physical sim card works with Japan local ph number?
Esim provides only internet and not available for traditional call and Sms?
Thank you for your comment! Depending on the plan, you can obtain a phone number with an eSIM and use it for traditional calls and SMS as well.
I would like to get a sim but I can't find any details of software requirements for iphone, what would be the minimum? i'm on iOS 16.5.1. Any ideas?
If you have that iOS version, you can use a SIM card :)
Hello, i need internet when visiting Japan this year but I'd like to have unlimited data. Should I buy a sim card (with unlimited data), or is it a better option to get the pocket wifi router instead (also has unlimited data)? thanks!
Hi! Personally, I found setting up the Wi-Fi router easier, so I think that's the better option :)
Hello! I can not find where to enter the coupon code :(
Thank you for your comment.
There is a coupon code entry field at the bottom of the Ninja Wi-fi application page. If it's not there, please try contacting Ninja Wi-fi.
I'm looking to stream in Japan from my mobile device, and i can't decide whether a pocket wifi or sim card would be best! any help?
Pocket Wi-Fi is easier to use, but which one is better with a SIM card depends on your plan😃
@@samurai_junjiro thanks for your reply! I was going for an unlimited sim plan with mobal. Do you know average speeds on sim cards?
Hi is there ninja pocket wifi in the Narita airport? Can we get it when we get there or we need to get it early? Thanks
Yes, Narita Airport also has a Ninja WiFi counter. You can check the location on the website :)
【Website】ninjawifi.com/en/receive/airport
I was unable to use the coupon code. Expired? Samurai, could you please clarify regarding the coupon code?
Does entering "SAMURAI" at the bottom of the page where you choose the date and plan not apply the discount?
I don't recommend Airalo eSim in Japan. Super slow as it is based out of Singapore.
Thank you for letting us know!
Would T-Mobile work in Japan?

Ċa you connect multiple phones in one pocket WiFi plan?
It depends on the plan, but I think you can connect 3 or more devices :)
👍

Yes, if you can set it up yourself, using a SIM card might be a good idea :)
When you mean sim cards slow down, you mean they become useless.
