Thank you so much for sharing about Souper Cubes and supporting our family during this very difficult time for us. While I don't know next steps for rebuilding I am confident that the support and well wishes of our community will help us get through this chapter. So grateful for our amazing community. -Michelle
I have used souper cubes for years. As a single, I tend to do your larger casserole or soup freezer meals and split them into the cubes since it is easier to use.
I actually have this on my wish list plan to start purchasing on them this coming month and continue purchasing them since I’m a proper that should be great even if you are a one or two family household as well. They’re very convenient and very easy to use.
I use Souper Cubes to freeze leftovers and then give meal components to my elderly mother and college aged son (away at school) and have also shared some with my son and daughter-in-law after they had their baby. I package each frozen cube in its own zip bag and label it so my family members can do a mix and match for each meal. I highly recommend getting Souper Cubes!!!!
Win win for everyone. We got to see the Souper Cubes demoed and hopefully it will generate some sales. The fires are awful. I asked for a set of Souper Cubes for Christmas and was lucky enough to receive them. Now, I need more.
We're glad to help even a little bit. Alberta has had it's own trouble with large fires the last several years. We lost a good chunk of the Jasper townsite, which is a beloved jewel in our Canadian Rockies. We are lucky we haven't lost our homes ourselves, but we understand some of the devastation. And the answer to getting some Souper Cubes is always MORE Souper Cubes! ❤️
I have used Souper Cubes for years. I started with the cookie trays and quickly added the set to my collection. I buy the set for wedding gifts, new mom gifts, single friend gifts. We love them! I filled mine today with Shepards Pie. I am praying for Michele and her family and all those impacted. Thank you for highlighting this great product and for all the great recipes. Freeze your yogurt starters in the cookie tray! Works great. I love that you mentioned the meatloaf! I make meatloaf in the cubes. Also great for small banana breads and other quick breads!
I don't know Michelle (Sharla does) but she sounds like a really lovely person and it's really cool that you know her too! We're glad to help, even if it's just a small video. ❤️
I use the small round ones for cookie dough. I use the small cubes to freeze herbs and juices. The cup sized ones for main servings of chilis.. soups..cashew cream...etc.
Yes! I had a feeling you two would do something like this for her. I use and LOVE Souper Cubes. I really love the two cup sets with the matching crocks to cook in. And i also love them for soup and broth. You two are such lovely people and have cultivated such a beautiful community. I already ordered a new set to support them, but i do love how this 1 cup size fits into gallon bags. Maybe i need more, lol.
For the ultra-thick BBQ sauce, add the Worcestershire, ketchup, egg, etc. INTO the almost-empty BBQ bottle. Shake and add to the bowl. You'll more easily clean out the whole bottle of sauce.
I use the small super cubes to experiment with freezing things to see how they react from being frozen. Also the fact that they have the metal form helps prevent spilling. Also, different size cones fit perfectly into gallon freezer bags. The lids are also interchangeable. Yup, lots of good uses.
When I render my lard and tallow I pour them into the souper cubes and freeze. When needed I take out 1 cup worth and melt it in a low oven so it fits into a 1 cup mason jar.
Regarding meatloaf and vegetables. I dehydrated a wide variety of vegetables last year and then powdered them. I put a tablespoon or two in soups and casseroles and meatloaf and other things like that … and no one at my house has noticed yet
Also, "crème de brie" is what you're looking for for brie without the rind, but it is much much more expensive, and you may not find it is worth it. I find the freezer hack works well.
When I have sauce bottles that are almost empty, I will put the worcestershire sauce or soy sauce (If also required.) in the bottle to help get the last of the sauce out.
Yes! That is a great tip. If we don't have any other sauces on the go, I will use a bit of apple cider vinegar and that works too. Not too much though.
I just started using them. How long does it take for them to freeze. I tried to do some meal prep with onions, and they didn't seem to set in the 1/2 cup form, but it did freeze in one big blob so it wasn't a fail. Help please!
I am not sure how long - it depends on how dense the food it, or it's starting temperature. I know that it freezes better when there's some liquid in it. I would give it over night and I'm sure that is more than enough time. Keep experimenting! You'll find your groove. 😊
Great question! They address this in the FAQs on their website so I've copied and pasted it here (I thought it was a pretty good answer): Souper Cubes trays are fairly stain-resistant. In fact, they have been tested by a third-party laboratory for stain resistance and passed. However, slight staining over a long period of use can happen and is not considered unusual. The best way to minimize or eliminate staining is by washing your Souper Cubes tray and lid in the dishwasher after each use. If your trays do get stained, we recommend covering the stain in a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution for 24 hours. Cooks Illustrated has recommended this technique and has done testing that shows it is successful. www.cooksillustrated.com/how_tos/8614-removing-stains-from-silicone-spatulas
Do you freeze your applesauce? I never thought of that... My mom always just canned it. I don't see a reason why you couldn't. I bet it's great and I love the Souper Cube idea for it.

That's awesome! It seems you've got a great system down.

Yes, sometimes I do. It's a great tip!
I work from home and pull a block of soup out night before put it in fridge and by lunch next day it’s ready to warm in the microwave. ❤❤
That is perfect! Souper Cubes make it so easy to do it like that.
I use the small super cubes to experiment with freezing things to see how they react from being frozen. Also the fact that they have the metal form helps prevent spilling. Also, different size cones fit perfectly into gallon freezer bags. The lids are also interchangeable. Yup, lots of good uses.
Oh this!!! This is such a smart idea!! I love it.
I just placed an order!
I love Souper Cubes!!!!❤❤

Regarding meatloaf and vegetables. I dehydrated a wide variety of vegetables last year and then powdered them. I put a tablespoon or two in soups and casseroles and meatloaf and other things like that … and no one at my house has noticed yet

Great video.
Do the souper cubes stain like from Tomatoe products?

I will put my order in soon.
That might be good to see making yoghurt in the cubes
I meant to put my yogurt in the cubes and we ate it too fast. lol
Super cubes rock! I am sorry to hear that they lost their house.
Wow I didn’t know I could bake in my souper cube. That is a game changer!
Totally right?!?
I love my Souper Cubes! I use them for soups of course but I love using them when I am making applesauce.
