Seems like what stays consistent with Synplant is that everything's sort of sharp and harsh like it wants to slice through the mix and be a little dissonant, so if _everything_ is Synplant it's like every sound competes with the others. Some basic sine wave stuff, as a bass or something, could be enough to make this more workable. (I know the whole point of this was to ONLY use Synplant, just trying to think through what it's particularly good for).
Strong thinking, you've got a point for sure. I love this synth to death honestly, one of my faves but yeah you definitely need to be aware of its character to know how to use it well, which is a challenge in itself. Always requires lots of taming for me but when I manage to properly tame it there is literally just nothing that even somewhat compares. Completely new sonic landscapes.
Would love to watch the track when you play it at the end, see how everything came together
