My mom has fine dirty blonde hair. She told me she got "corn rows" once, and, it took hours to undo them, to prevent extreme tangling. It can end up with having to cut the hair. Tina Turner is an interesting person. It's like she is a walking case study of all sorts of harsh realties of life and symbolism. The way my view of her has changed as I have both learned more about her life before I was born and matured through life myself reflects a lot of things I have learned about life in general, male-female dynamics, and Black-White race relations
She's a goddess. Even makes the great Ann Margaret look mortal. He was a good interviewer too. Asked questions worthy of her legend. Appreciated her and wanted to hear her talk.
Except he had to go back and talk about Ike. Even after she said writing the book she hoped people would stop asking her about that past. So friggin disrespectful. Much 💜 to Tina.
This is very amazing two of Tina's albums go platinum and gold now for the Foreign Affair album that's when Tina starts to produce, so most of her songs are mostly written and produced by Terry Britten and Graham Lyle Then she left Capitol for Virgin
She is such a Sagittarius, she is loyal and full of heart. She had to flee to save herself, she did leave her kids behind. But she needed to save herself. I feel this strongly in my soul. I stay for my child. I couldn't abandon her but apart of me still has that small desire to go. Far away. I understand why Mothers leave their young. But I fight myself to raise her and prepare her for real life. I don't want to make her life harder but sometimes
I love how she openly admits she doesn’t write/produce her own music and that she’s a “performer” she performed her content so well it seemed like it was MADE by her
Oooh now I know I’ll be depressed since Paradise is Here is my favorite song by her! I had been looking at these interview clips of this interview when she discusses Buddhism but was surprised when I clicked onto this & it came up as a full-form interview
@@shannonswift2233 In another site they have the full interview (a few extra minutes), and she said that Two People and some other ballads are not her favorites of that album but she liked then and thought that they were well written
One of my top favorites, also! I have loved for years listening to her end the European tour with "Paradise is Here." I always imagined myself ending a show that way. :)
The way she is acting and talking here is very cheeky & overly confident. The way she moves her mouth is like she is teasing you. She really truly is a performer.
i am pretty pretty sure that NO AUDIENCE MEMBER EVER !!! thought Tina Turner was posing on stage referring to her clothes!!! I belong in The Whitney Audience but of course knew Tina Turner as well as anyone from my generation but i think i would have not gone to a concert untill i got front row tickets to her 70 year jubilee concert in hamburg ! I w a s b l o w n a w a y !! That woman could feed any household in the city with the energy she gave away those two hours on stage !!!!! You don't think of Ike you don't think of the hard past you don't think of anything but to stop yourself from jumping :-) ( if you can )
I've been going thru a Whitney Houston phase. I look at Tina and wonder if she could've been a mentor for her. I think she could have maybe helped her.
Whitney was the total opposite of the image Clive created for her and she became a prisoner of that image. I believe she could have been just as successful had she been allowed to be herself. Whats funny is Whitney was considered to play Tina in the biopic. Whitney and Robyn Givens were frontrunners for the role but Whitney was pregnant (and not right for the role). As far as a mentor I think Tina would have been a great mentor but Whitney was already an addict by the time she became a star. Its sad how her story ended she was such a gifted talent and beauty.
@@spanishharlem I enjoy and appreciate your reply here. It's funny, I've just scratched the surface with my "research" but I feel I still don;t have a strong sense of who Whitney was. She seemed to have many different periods. She even sang differently during them. I think her first 5 years were pure fire. If I just had that I think I would be ok. Had no idea she was up to play Tina. That wouldn't have been the best casting at all, right? I can't think of anyone better than Bassett, although I'm sure there were other folks out there whom I never heard of. No one I've seen playing Whitney has really knocked me out. Not bad, but not her. It's just really hard to truly "be" these people.
@@haysfordays When Tina's movie was originally being cast they wanted a big name to ensure the movie's success. Whitney's Bodyguard did amazing numbers and that is why they wanted her. From what I understand Whitney didn't even have to audition if she wanted the role they were giving it to her. She was pregnant and passed on it. Angela didn't have name recognition, but she was one of the few actresses who auditioned who could dance and act. She ended up being the best for the role. As far as who Whitney was as a person she basically was an around the way girl from Jersey who was raised in the church and went to an all girls Catholic high school. She was a rebel, and her extraordinary beauty had her gracing the covers of magazines as a model when she was still a Junior in high school. The reason Whitney and Bobby hit it off so hard is that Bobby allowed her to be herself. She was smart, sophisticated, and classy when she needed to be but the real her was laid back and loved to cuss and smoke cigarettes LOL. Bobby and Whitney were more alike than people like to admit. Eddie Murphy dated her because he was infatuated with her image but once he saw the real Whitney was a chain-smoking cursing sailor who loved to party (Eddie didn't drink or smoke) he lost interest very quickly. Chronic drug use alters your personality greatly and yes Whitney has different eras. I personally think she was at her professional and physical peak during 1992-1995. She was never more beautiful than that era. She was also more relatable and not the pop Princess Clive manufactured early on. Whitney's demise was sad the drugs totally took control of her by the late 90s and the rest is history. Whitney was once the highest paid actress in the world (of any color) when she got 10 million for The Preacher's Wife. She opened a lot of doors for women entertainers of all colors, but especially black women.
@@spanishharlem i still think that a famous accomplished artist like Whitney was, would be a silly choice to portray another famous accomplished artist like Tina. It’s like having Michael Jackson play Elvis. It’s just ridiculous. Actually i don’t even bother to see these type of movies because knowing the artist the way they are, someone trying to portray them always looks bootleg to me.
@leegrant7333 all my aunts and uncles look Indian as well as I but we're not Indian, there's no jealousy she went to school with my mom. My aunt cried after the debut of her movie, cause they knew Ike from local venues. She's like a virtual family member, so jealous for what. We love Tina in our family she just happens to not be Indian according to a sit down interview with her and she had no problem with it, why should you.
I appreciate that Tina views herself as a performer and makes note of the fact she’s not so much a producer. That’s respectable honesty and humility. She’s great, but someone who writes their own material is a large contributor to my opinion that they are legendary. I was surprised to discover that Tina didn’t, because her performances are so invested in the music that I believed they could only be of her own. It’s somewhat disappointing to me to know she didn’t create the material she is known for, but she sure had it as a performer.
Don't discredit a performer. Imagine someone else doing those songs wouldn't work in my humble opinion. The performer creates the song just as much as the original creater.
@@michaelmitchell2143 agree. She certainly did "produce" her shows, though. She designed her stage, chose costumes and choreographed her dances. Nutbush is her song and in one interview she talked about that being the only song she wrote and hoped to start writing more. She was a precious soul and is already sadly missed❤
When i listen to her music i don’t think about oh did she write this song or not. I enjoy her performance of it. What’s there to be disappointed about?. She gave so much of herself into performing it and making it her own.
Tina Turner disagrees with you and praises Beyoncé and even said Beyoncé's more talented, but either way do not pit black women against each other. It is really not your place to speak on either, speak on women in the your own culture.
@@08CARIB Hi there, I know you are not replying to me, but your statement sounds like you know Ms. Turner personally...... (doubt it). @@leswehman11 My comment quotes Tina directly, she has praised Beyoncé many times. As to the rest of your comment, I said exactly what I meant. Note you had no comment to the unwarranted disparagement to Beyoncé on the original comment, which is not surprising. It is neither of your place as white women to put down a black woman, there are plenty of white women for you to choose to disrespect should you feel the need to be nice nasty.
She actually had no Indian ancestry. There's a show on PBS hosted by Henry Louis Gates, Jr. where he researches the ancestry of celebs. Her mother always told her she had Indian ancestry (which is a common, but untrue claim in African-American culture). But in reality, she had no Native American ancestry at all.
Actually i think what was said in her ancestry, there is more of a caucasian DNA. I think this is typical of majority of the blacks in US because of the mixing of the races throughout the decades.
@@JCX-9 Wow, talk about ignoring history. That last sentence really ignores the atrocities against Blk American wmn. The mixing that you speak of is largely due to the period of enslavement and the violation of Blk wmn.

Nossa tina voce sempre foi mais linda que tudo isso a melhor do mundo.
This is very amazing two of Tina's albums go platinum and gold now for the Foreign Affair album that's when Tina starts to produce, so most of her songs are mostly written and produced by Terry Britten and Graham Lyle
Then she left Capitol for Virgin
She is such a Sagittarius, she is loyal and full of heart.
She had to flee to save herself, she did leave her kids behind.
But she needed to save herself. I feel this strongly in my soul. I stay for my child. I couldn't abandon her but apart of me still has that small desire to go. Far away. I understand why Mothers leave their young. But I fight myself to raise her and prepare her for real life. I don't want to make her life harder but sometimes
Tina did not abandon her kids. Some people have to re-read her book.
@@true1evanique Thank U for correcting her👍🏼Some people get things so twisted 🙃🙄😉 Just be talking & don't know what's really going on 🤔
By the time Tina left her youngest child was 16, and she didn't abandon them.
And she still takes care of them. Anytime there is a check in the mailbox, that's not abandonment.
Always sacrifice for your child. You are doing the right thing. You will find a way to leave and have your child with you.
I love how she openly admits she doesn’t write/produce her own music and that she’s a “performer” she performed her content so well it seemed like it was MADE by her
Nossa tudo nela era lindo sorriso simpatia cabelo voz nossa tudo hoje também beijo tina Turner.
I love Tina, my Sagittarius sister 🤎
I really like Tina Turner right here
I love u Tina r.ip 🌹
thanks for posting. Too bad that it was cut when she talks about Paradise is Here, one of my fave songs.

I like the way she accessorizes.
The way she is acting and talking here is very cheeky & overly confident. The way she moves her mouth is like she is teasing you. She really truly is a performer.
I smile just reading your comment...how apt. She a true performer...a legendary act
i am pretty pretty sure that NO AUDIENCE MEMBER EVER !!! thought Tina Turner was posing on stage referring to her clothes!!!
You don't think of Ike you don't think of the hard past you don't think of anything but to stop yourself from jumping :-) ( if you can )
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank-You, Z.B., for this beautiful POST !!!
Love her
2:31 Good on her. She had a past and it was horrible and violent, but it doesn’t and shouldn’t define her. Let her move on!
💗
That's because her beauty came from the inside out
I've been going thru a Whitney Houston phase.
@@JCX-9 Diana Ross played Bille Holiday. Jamie Foxx played Ray Charles. It can be done!
The little of American native she has in her is a lot
She doesn't have any she did dna with that PBS show and there was none, just coincidence
@@pams3747 And you believed that.....her good looks come from the Cherokee....its very apparent. You sound jealous.
@@pams3747 oh you are jealous of her good looks that do come from her native heritage.... the mere fact you need to jealously comment is telling.
@precious9157 girl these folks are crazy on this internet as if I could ever be jealous of my beloved Auntie.
15:00 She didn’t initially know what ‘Acid Queen’ was about? WOW 🤣😭💊
I’m going to say this proudly... Beyoncé has NOTHING on Tina Turner.
I agree!!
There's No comparison to be made...Tina is an absolute Icon. Beyonce love of her comes from Beyonce's mom Tina Knowles is avid fan/admirer.
(doubt it). The next time you see her please tell her she is wonderful, beautiful inside and out, and a woman to be admired. Ms. Crockett is in no way, “pitting one black Woman against against another..”. Your comment is doing just the contrary to what you are being so critical about. I love people no matter their color, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, etc. With all the UGLY going on in this world, people loosing loved one, try UPLIFTING others- even especially strangers. Nobody knows what another person is going through so why pass on ugly over a Tina Turner comment--shallow. I hope God blesses you and gives you the comfort you need because I know you need it. Be well, Ms. 08CARIB.
Sh is full grown n fully dimentional woman...n ppl thought she is raunchy n funky
Nam myoho renge kyo baby
You see Indian genes in het face.
@@BlackGirlGenius How do you know that, do you have a genetic chromosome test ?
@@JCX-9 Wow, talk about ignoring history. That last sentence really ignores the atrocities against Blk American wmn. The mixing that you speak of is largely due to the period of enslavement and the violation of Blk wmn.
