Welcome to #Episode9 of my Pizza Tower reaction videos!
Hey everyone, I'm String Player Gamer (or SPG for short) I've been a music producer and violinist all my life! Pizza Tower's Soundtrack totally caught me be surprise! But a totally delicious and funky surprise! In this video, I listen and react to the songs from this wonderful soundtrack, so grab a pizza with your favorite drink and listen with me.

Pizza Tower is a 2023 platform game created by the indie developer Tour De Pizza and released for Windows and Steam Deck exclusively through the Steam distribution platform. The game follows pizza chef Peppino Spaghetti as he traverses the titular tower to save his pizzeria.

On The Rocks is essentially a power-up theme. You're more powerful, so the music changes to reflect it.
R.R.R. its literallly the ultimate FREZZE theme, and snowy in general, with just a melody it doesnt need jingle bells to say "HEY SNOW!"
i loved realizing that r-r-freezerator's motif is also one of the most climatic parts in unexpectancy part 3!!

To be honest, I knew what Coccon was before it won "Best Debut Indie Game", enough to know that people who made Limbo and Inside also worked on it so it's KIND of a stretch to call it a "debut" game compared to games made by people entirely new to the gaming industry, but... whatever, I still think Pizza Tower should have won that one.
"dont preheat your oven because if you do the song wont play", composed by ClascyJitto, is exactly the kind of incredibly long dumb name that makes me love Pizza Tower's soundtrack even more than I already do. It was inspired by Toastopia from the PikuNiku soundtrack, and was originally going to be darker and more sinister in tone before CJ changed it to better suit the level it plays on, which also has a goofy name: "Refrigerator-Refrigerador-Freezerator". While it's not one of my absolute favorites, I still really like it, it's a bit more chill (pun somewhat intended) compared to the more frantic and intense nature of Pizza Tower's other tunes.
"Celsius Troubles", again composed by ClascyJitto, plays in later sections of the level Refrigerator-Refrigerador-Freezerator. It's basically a slightly more intense version of "dont preheat your oven", which is neat and all, but the most notable thing about it for me is something that happened with CJ themself. I once made an off-hand comment on an extended version of this track on UA-cam how you could tell this is a Canadian game because it uses "Celsius". Obviously I got a bunch of replies saying that everyone except the USA uses Celsius, I guess my thought process was that it's one of several indications that this game was made by Canadians (the other being that pineapple on pizza is more accepted there than it is in the USA, hence why pineapple is unironically treated like a valid choice of topping in this game), it wasn't that well thought-out a comment anyway. But then ClascyJitto himself replied to my comment, saying their reasoning behind the title was that it takes very little to become hot in Celsius whereas it takes a lot to get hot in Fahrenheit. Fascinating insight, do what you will with this information!
"On the Rocks", composed by Mr. Sauceman, is the tune that plays after Peppino eats the "Satan's Choice" pepper pizza and essentially gains Samus's Space Jump ability (which makes the Brinstar chord progression present in this track all the better) while being surrounded by flames. Also, and I didn't realize this before writing this, but apparently if players let this track play and wait before reaching Pillar John and beginning Pizza Time, Celsius Troubles plays again afterward, and this is apparently because this song was never finished and doesn't have a proper looping point. I should test this out next time I play Pizza Tower...
Thanks again for doing more Pizza Tower reactions. I don't know if it's too much to ask you to do more of them, but if you do, I hope you react to "Good Eatin'".
my favorite name of this entire soundtrack is probably Don't preheat and also "hmm yes put the tree on my pizza" because they just sound like something someone said in the discord server and ClascyJitto decided "yeah imma make that the OST name."

Extremely fitting for you to catch the Brinstar chord progression in a song that plays when you get a powerup that literally gives you the Screw Attack.
Interesting idea to react to all 3 songs from Refrigerator-Refrigerador-Freezerator (the full level name) in one video! Awesome video, man.
If you're keen on doing one more part, here's some recommendations:
- Good Eatin' ("Golf" Theme)
- Way Of The Pig ("The Pig City" B Theme)
- Put On A Show! ("Ancient Cheese" B Theme)
There's one more I'd highly recommend, but it's 6 minutes long; "Secret Lockin" combines many different songs from the OST into one super funky banger.

I'm still confused how the last of us robbed pizza tower for best soundtrack of the year in the steam awards...
I'd especially like to see an eventual reaction to Put on a Show, Way of the Pig, and Pizza Mayhem (whether it be the instrumental or full version).

i recommend you check out color your night from the persona 3 reload track. i genuinely think it's a masterpiece in song making and is the definition of peak. you could take any 15-30 second clip of it and show it to someone and they're vibing

Only 2 songs i really want to be reacted to left from pizza tower are good eatin' and oregano desert B, hoping those will happen! On the rocks is in my top 5 from the soundtrack though, so glad to see it getting recognition.

Hey, nice video! I don’t know many games with a similar theme with Pizza Tower, but I can fully support Skullgirls! Older game, but I can’t find anything you’ve reacted to for that theme, so if you haven’t already played it, 110% recommend! Most of the game’s music is themed around jazz (my favorite song is the lab 8 theme: Paved With Good Intentions).
Great stuff! My recommendations are: Good Eatin, Dungeon Freakshow, and the cut tracks I mentioned: Spaghetti and Pizza Mayhem.

You should check out "The star conquering traveler" from Kirby star allies. It is multiple songs that make up one big song, like unexpectancy. You would not be disappointed.
i think you should one of these days look into the Zero Ranger soundtrack. "The Sea has Returned," "Sky XXXX Days(W/ Enter the Mass Destruction)," "Despair," "Sacred Defender," "ETC." AND also if you never played the game, please give it a try... one of the best Shmups youll probably ever play.

The Pizza Tower soundtrack has to be one of the best ones out there. I, personally, even have it in my daily playlist! Along with it many others like Terraria, Ultrakill... and Subnautica! I would recommend you to look into it sometime. Subnautica itself is a game, which is mainly about ambience and space. This can be heard pretty well in the soundtrack.
So basically, the player is stranded on an alien ocianic planet, surrounded by carnivorous water creatures. The deeper you go, the creepier and more dangerous it gets.
I'd recommend the following tracks:
-Salutations
-Sun & Moon
-Lost River
-Abandon Ship (community favourite)
Pretty much all of the other songs are also worth a listen so feel free to give Subnautica a try! Also, great video as always!

SPGO, could you please also listen to Pillar John's Revenge and Absolute Absurzity(version 2)? These songs are fan made, but they are very well known in the pizza tower community, and they fit the style of the official ones. The first song is used on lap 3, where Peppino is chased by pizzaface. And the second one is used on lap 4, which is even more difficult than lap 3

This one is a bit of an obscure suggestion, but given your like for Pizza Tower I think you might like *Be a King Always* from Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3. There are three versions of it called Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3 respectively, so feel free to pick and choose which one(s) take your fancy!
