And you are right if we are renting home, its unfair to have such heavy penalty imposes on us. Do you know if telco allow to have the internet to be relocated when still on contract ( like moving home)? My experience with Maxis, apparently they consider this as termination which I find it really stupid. While the contract says we cannot terminate, the request is not for terminate but to relocate and nothing as such is stated in the contract (at that time). MCMC should really look into this and impose a law for this grey area if they are so concerned about everyone to have access to affordable internet. Telcos are taking advantage of the situation.

Among the telcos listed here, Time is the only one with the no-contract option but you'll have to fork out a one-time fee of RM400 for 100Mbps, RM650 for 500Mbps and RM800 for 1Gbps plan. Previously, telcos will not charge penalty if your new address has no coverage. But after MCO, it seems that more telcos are making it the consumer's problem for not having coverage in the new address and they are made to pay the ridiculous penalty charges. This is where MCMC should really step in and to protect users from such lopsided policy. According to Maxis Fibre FAQ on relocation: "If your new address is within coverage, to request for relocation, just walk-in to any Maxis Store. On the installation day, please bring along your modem to new installation address; RM200 may be applicable for new modem. If your new address is not within our coverage area, bring along your modem and walk into your nearest Maxis Centre to terminate your fibre service. Early termination fee is applicable if your existing service and home devices are still within contract."
It’s because they are licensed from the government internet provider therefore they can do whatever as they wish and deemed fit for their pocket. Taiko gives green light mah…….apa pun boleh lor.
Everything is so much cheaper in Malaysia compared to Korea.... except internet. In Korea, I used to get 150+ TV channels, 1000GB/s internet (unlimited data) all for about 68.5RM. I didn't realize getting fast speed internet here in Malaysia would be so costly :( I might have to settle on the 30 or 50 mbps one to save some money

If your area is covered by TM HSBB, you now have more choice including Maxis, Astro and CelcomDigi. There's a lot of fibre network sharing so you have more retail choice riding on the same network.

We have not tried it but from what we can tell from the social media comments, they are not a reliable internet service provider.
