The Apostle John did get dunked in a pot of boiling oil, but he survived. He was in a coliseum in front of crowds when this happened and they were amazed that he survived. He was then exiled (sent) to Patmos Island. He too went through terrible persecution.
This is the central problem that lay in the realm of Christianity, no one understand what "HOLY" is as well as to be holy. We have many pastors and teachers, male or female, can teach a good thing, but still themselves don't understand.
