You might have been using the wrong light mode for the IDOO garden. The red and blue lights are for the later growth stages. For vegetative growth, there's the warm white / yellow light mode. Fun and informative video 😊
Thanks for the review. I have 1 aero garden harvest,1 click and grow and 2 9 pod aero gardens. The aero garden harvest was very nice to use. It is being cleaned at the moment. I will be trying out the click and grow.
Why did you let your basil bloom? You're supposed to trim that off to keep it from going to seed. If you prevent that, a basil plant will keep going in good shape for 6 months.
It appears that you are using an early version of the Idoo 12 with the short, stubby grow sponges. What they found was that the water level would often fall below the bottom of the sponge, cutting off the plant from water and nutrients. Even when the sponge barely touched the water, it would not always wick up the proper moisture and nutrition. When this happened early in the grow cycle, the plants were stunted or failed completely. This was a design problem that you correctly uncovered. The new Idoo 12 uses a basket and sponge system nearly identical to the Aerogarden. Success is much better. By the way, I use Urban Leaf grow sponges all the time in my AG Bounty's and they're very successful.
So idoo is better i want to get my mom a gift for mothers day and ive noticed her interest in gardening plants recently but i have been able to find the best hydroponic garden
The basil in the Idoo looks like something is wrong with it. Also, your calculations for cost appear to be wrong. If you are doing 16 hours/day at 33 watts that is approximately 0.5 kwh/day or 183 kwh/year - not 300 kwh.
Thanks! This helped me realize that a Click and Grow is what would be best for me. We'll see how it goes.

Helpful, but it would have been more equitable to compare the AeroGarden Sprout to the 3-pod Click & Grow.
Fair enough. We were aiming for price to be the benchmark here as far as what units we chose though.
Excellent video, thanks very much!

Thx how do i check if mine is the latest version or old version? i want to be sure to get the new one. Do you know the new model number?
thanks for the review,, well presented and good commentary
Just the video that I needed
We have five Aerogardens and three Idoos. We have found the Idoos to be much better than the AGs.
Very interesting. What nutrients are you using in the IDOOs?

Have you done a review for the letpot hydroponic systems?
How I would love to watch the rest of this video, but the blinking lights are giving me a seizure.
What about click and grow model with 9 pods?
The idoo sponges might be defective, they looked extremely dry, mine had no issues spreading roots through the sides
good to know, thanks!

One of many inconsistencies in the video. Watching its hard no to get the opinion that the narrator is biased towards certain units.
the blinking lights make it hard to watch
