Love your Vids as always Chris. We know we're going to get smarter =). On a side note I see Andrew Anderson joined team Global and I wondered if he reached out to you. I know you're well respected on the tour with a wealth of bowling knowledge.
Hey guys! Chris- been a fan of yours for decades! lol… I’ve often wondered if I have gaps in my arsenal and hopefully you could shed some light on….. Super Nova, Phase II, Physix B/O, Attn Star, Road Warrior, Hustle MM, Ruby IQ, spare ball… and the purple hammer(will be replacing soon with the Level)…. I was thinking possibly a Hybrid? Loving the Physix B/O!! This ball is amazing! I can throw on wood or synthetic and get predictable ball motion…. I don’t have a huge budget to spend on bowling balls, so I have to be smart about the purchases…. My average down lane speed is 15-16mph, guessing 350ish rev rate (never had measured/calculated) have decent ball movement/reaction. I’m kinda like a Brad Miller, saying this with respect!
i’m looking for something to fit in between my phaze 2 and iq tour ruby. Some balls i’m thinking about are the iq tour solid, optimum idol pearl, venom shock. i’m just not sure what to do
You have to decide if you want a stronger version of the ruby, something more angular. This would be zen 25 or if you want a step down from Phaze 2 that is smoother. This would be solid iq tour, ion pro, or that venom shock you spoke about
Good luck on tour to you Chris and Ryan! I looked at this video and based on what I have, I went Harsh Reality, Physix Blackout, Harsh Pearl, Phase II, an Ebonite product (their 3d offset attack seems to be somewhat similar in where I'd use it to where you have the VEBO), the Trend (old ball, probably need to refresh with that new Road Warrior!) and since I'm a rec bowler who bowls amateur sport events, I've got that purple ball from Mexico as my main urethane look. If it's a longer format my IQ Tour and Tour Ruby come into play. Any thoughts on whether or not that might work? (I don't mind comments from y'all others out there either, let's hear it!)
How do you like the harsh reality and Pearl? I’m going sport shot league and might pick them up. I’ve been all motiv. But I like the numbers of the realities at 14lbs.
How odd to call the 3d offset an ebonite product when Hammer and Ebonite are both under Brunswick now and have been for years, and the new attack is a release from this month. Just say Hammer lol
@ my bad you’re right it’s a Hammer. When I typed the post I was thinking Ebonite for some reason… maybe thinking of Chris’s long time friend and rival Tommy Jones.
Been a fan of bowling for years but been bowling for around a year in a league and hit 140-180 consistently as a lefty two hander, I just added the ion pro to the aresenal how ever its the only ball im using. Any reccomendations chat on a spare ball? I was hovering the idea of getting the purple urthethane hammer and not too sure if I were to add another ball if it should be weaker or stronger than the ion pro.
I got a question for a pin down layout. I have a couple of heavy oil symmetric pieces and a heavy oil asym piece but it's an older cover. I'm looking to get a big asym piece with an updated cover. I'm contemplating going with a pin down layout for that one, or if I do put a pin up layout on it I'll drill it with a weaker pin position. What would you do? I'm also a lefty.
@@leftyMOTIVguy I currently have the weaker pin in a gem and the lower stronger pin w ion max. For leave - I’d go w taller weaker. For sport shots - the max
Thumb fit is very important with a switch thumb you can fit the thumb how you like it using tape to tight or loosen the fit once you have it how you like any time you make a ball switch you swap the insert to the ball so you have a consistent thumb fit ball to ball
@@matthewsmith2051 Oh wow, yeah they didn't have that option when I bowled. I had to use a chemical product, I like that switch thumb. Thanks for the info pal.
Both Chris and Stu have said they don't match up very well with the original Attention Star, they feel it gets forward a little too easily for them (though Stu seems to be a bit more of a fan of the S2 since it transitions a little slower). For what it's worth, I actually really like the original Attention Star for my lower rev game, but I do see where they are coming from. I have to know when to put it away since it'll go from throwing pins everywhere to leaving 7 pins and flat 10s in a matter of frames when it starts seeing too much friction too early.
these are the best videos out, we appreciate you for putting the time into them thanks 🙏
Great Video Chris, you destroyed me with that Gem at the Senior Masters - Is the ION MAx a new Gem ? Good luck for 2025 !!

@@zeekus2222 he’s bowling a couple pairs down from Ryan this week at team USA trials. He’s getting a pretty good handle on them.
Thanks for the real talk review of where these new pieces fall in the arsenal while bowling.

In regards to the Level, it performs & looks like a urethane ball even though it really isn’t a urethane ball

Great video idea. Let’s see an end of the year part two of this video. What’s in Ryan’s bag?
Another great video thank you
What replaces the Phaze2 with the lineup you have now?
He mentioned in another comment Zen 25 replaced it

A lot of asymmetry
Lots of oil on Pba tour. And a lot of oil downlane. Lower rev rate, relative to the field, need the extra help
