I have extreme anxiety when leaving my students with a sub. I teach junior high so you just never know what their mood will be like that day. Cute ways to keep the kids engaged for the end of the year. Happy (almost) summer!
Jessalyn Revelle I just got hired as a sub for middle and high schoolers- any tips/tricks or things that make you really love a sub? I know the hormones go crazy during those years and am a little nervous!!!
Katie in the Kingdom I love a sub that doesn’t try to be my student’s friend. I have so much respect for subs who aren’t afraid to discipline the kids. I tell my students all the time that any adult who stands before them is a teacher so they need to respect them like they respect me. They know that if they disobey the rules or disrespect any adults, consequences follow. I love when my subs hold my kids accountable. You’ll be a wonderful sub! Best of luck and have a great year!
That Qball speaker is amazing! I know what I am getting for next year. I teach Kinder, so that should be a really fun addition next year. Oh and btw, I love the black chairs and tables in your room.
Glad to hear that you have the kids practice cursive handwriting. My students know that if they meet my cursive expectations, then they will receive fountain pens. Take care of yourself and best of luck to you.
I’m a first year third grade teacher! Yes I made one for open house,it included info about school. How lunch goes because my district has started something new this year where they bring there own lunch, they get a free school lunch, or can pay money for better lunch like McDonald’s or something. It also included chrome books and what we do on those and expectations with those. Also I just said how much I can’t wait to meet them! Also we talked about third grade expectations and grades. I had 5 to 7 people listening to the PowerPoint at one time so I did a lot of TALKING. Totally worth it.Then once the Parents did every station, they said goodbye. Also I made treats, I made 5 per each kids so family could get some too. I feel like the ppt really helped the parents better understand. Then once I got tired of talking I used seesaw instead of ppt. Lol, also I took her third grade position
I'm shocked you're allowed to take kids out to lunch! I don't think that would ever be allowed in my district.
That’s amazing that you can take kids out to lunch! I don’t think that would ever be allowed in schools where I could one day be teaching.
“WELCOME BACK EDVENTURERS!”
Sending love from England 🏴 ♥️
I don’t finish school till the end of July 🙈 hope you have an amazing summer break 😘

I am soaking up these vlogs. Today I interviewed and was offered a third grade position for next year! :)
Our school bought the ball for every classroom last year and the kids love it. Sad to say not every teacher uses it
Love, love, love your videos! the Qball looks very interesting and has so many potential uses, definitely want to invest in one.
