    I feel like losing a health state due to touching a fake generator could feel cheap from the survivor pov, but I love the idea of placing fake gens. What about instead of losing a health state, you instead become incapacitated like from the perk Eruption from Nemesis? Also what about placing down fake hex totems as well? Could give him some cool synergy with other hex perks like haunted ground and devour hope.

      Replace fake gens with fake clocks.
      Once survivors figure you're doing that they'll ignore all gens until they can be sure of them. i.e. awake.
      Add a small penalty to gen speeds while asleep and you'll achieve the same thing, but with occasionally hilarious results.
      Also, making it so that survivors don't fall asleep on their own is dumb, as part of Freddy's appeal is about try avoiding the unavoidable, and the timer works to that end.
      Fake hex totems is dope.
      Also, what if you could board up windows.

    Love everything about this, I'd also prefer if the fake gens did... Nothing, effectively fooling you into doing nothing productive for the team, and maybe Freddy could instantly teleport to these instead of going through the animation
    It'd be a great idea if one gen, two walls and three pallets started out already spawned, so that swfs won't be able to instantly know just because one of them caught a glimpse of you placing a dream object

      @@Notabot-mf3wk maybe if the gen gets completed, if it happened as soon as they touched it you would have no slowdown, and well being held immobile isn't fun and there would be a lot of complaints, trapper being the exception because you can, in theory, see the trap and fell for it fair and square, while with these theoretical fake gens, you're not supposed to tell that they're fake and being immobilized or injured would feel very cheap

      @@killrcupcake2994 it would be very in character if the survivor started working on the gen and then got their arms pulled into it, freddy enjoys taunting his victims as much as making them enraged. plus it could be a super short animation of you getting your arms sucked in before pulling yourself off. And then an iri addon that makes the gens Leak a small amount of blood to indicate theyre not real, but also injuring or deep wounding alreadying injured survivors, but they cost more, etc

    I like these changes except for the generator taking a health state, but the comment section seemed to have already discussed that. It would be nice if Freddy was able to teleport to the fake gen at double the speed if they fail a skill check on it though.
    What more objects I'd include would be dream hex totems. They would cost 3 tokens and would be found and broken normally by survivors. However these dream totems won't interact with any hex perks or boon perks, as upon boon-ing one, it simply explodes into a shower of blood; causing them to be incapacitated and wasting time for the survivor.
    There also also certain buildings and jungle gym that have alternate window spawns. Making a fake window that's actually a wall or a fake wall that's actually a window would make survivors question which window is the real one and potentially run into a wall instead of a safe window. I think this dream object should be relatively cheap to make, like pallets perhaps only 1 token.
    As for chase potential, I feel like "long arms Freddy" shouldn't stay as a meme. He could have an alternate special attack that consumes tokens to extend his lunge just a bit, kinda like coup de grace. Of course he'd have to press and hold the right click button to activate an animation of his arms extending before lunging, alerting the survivors of his increased reach. I don't want this to be quite as oppressive as Nemesis of course.

      What if instead he could spawn a fake version of himself during a loop to do extra mind games that would cost tokens. They would stand still and when walked through or after like 5 seconds they disappear.

    How about dream chests that you can either put on chest spawn locations or to refill already opened chests? When you open it you get an item. The twist here is that instead of working as intended they will backfire on the survivor that uses them. That being said if they triggered immediatly when used it would be pointless as survivors would just try test them immediatly when playing against freddy. Instead they kinda seem to work until you try properly to use them. For example you can click the flashlight around but when you try to blind freddy with it you will get blinded instead or medkits after you use it enough (with a random-ish value) it will inflict hemorrage and a deep wound or something like that and the toolkits make gens explode like with old pain res. Or maybe you want to watch the world burn and want to make a big gamble by being able to make one dream HATCH that will instead of letting you escape will after a slight pause suddenly raise you out of it with a hook and leave you hooked (Not an actual hook and it is intended for you to have a chance to escape from it it just looks like a hook to make the twist more painful) If you can't escape before freddy gets to you it is pretty much game over. About the dream generators how about allowing you to teleport to them instantly or almost instantly if someone is messing with them in an explosion of blood instead of damaging you directly?

      What I think would be cool is when the survivor it in the process of opening the chest, Freddy gets the ability to teleport and come out of the chest. Kinda like how Pinhead can teleport but is not forced to. If you chose to not Telenor the chest just melts away into blood and the survivor hears a laugh taunting them.

    I like this idea a lot, but do have some helpful critiques I think. My original idea was to just combine his snares and pallets into his base kit and rework his pallet addons. I agree more fake objects fit freddy and make him more interesting, so no major complaints there. Seeing freddy go through walls is something that is absolutely in line with his character.
    My first complaint is the fake generators taking a health state. I think going from healthy to injured is fine, but being downed by one seems pretty lame. Having a loud noise notification or scream when a fake gen is used is also a good idea. Next, as others have pointed out, removing snares means no anti loop. As much as it pains me to say it, a killer at least needs some form if chase power in order to be competitive. Screw the snares, they're boring, but I feel like he still needs something. Maybe a short distance a highly choreographed teleport? Idk man.
    Oh and one last thing, this opens up opportunities to rework his lame addons. Seriously, they suck.

      First off all, thank you for criticising in such a nice informative way. I agree with almost all of what you said. If I was to make this video again I’d make the dream generators give you the deep wound affect, this way you’ll never be downed by the generator only injured.
      As for the anti-loop, you are correct. Playing a killer without anti-loop can feel pretty frustrating. My goal was to have the dream walls be his anti-loop but I see now they’ll probably be too situational. While I still wouldn’t add snares (I just find them extremely boring to use and go against and don’t think they fit the character) I’d definitely give him some anti-loop. I like the idea of him going through walls, it fits his character and could be good in chase. Would just have to put it on cool-down or make it cost a few dream tokens to make sure he isn’t just a new nurse that ignores all dbd gameplay mechanics.

      @@SOC I think placing other objects could also be interesting. Like if there was a 2 Token Totem placement deal (with 50/50 odds on being a Hex or not) that a sleeping survivor would have to go around would be enough anti loop as Freddy could just walk through them. This is obviously assuming he wouldn't have a radius block such as Hags on her Phantasmal Traps. Placing two Totems side by side would require 1 sleeping player and I think the effect would be significant...
      And the object in question could be toggled by Ctrl as with Clown, and could include other stuff, such as Snowmen on Ormond, a Stump on Swamp, Tire Tower on Autohaven...

      @@SOC I imagine if you gave him a teleporting ability like that, it’d be a mix of hag and dredge. You could drop a snare mid chase, but it would cost tokens. Then you could press the active ability button to teleport to it at any time. But you could only have one down, so placing another gets rid of the first.

    Here is my entire idea. I combined a few ideas I had been kicking around with your really well-made video so here it is:
    1: You start out with 8 tokens at the beginning of a trial. 2 additional tokens will be added per survivor pulled into the dream world coming out to 16 tokens. If all survivors are successfully pulled into the dream world, 4 more tokens will be granted for a max of 20 tokens. Tokens can be spent to place several fake items in the dream world.
    1: dream pallets. Cost: 1 token
    Same thing as what we already have in-game
    2: Dream walls. Cost: 1 token
    my idea is just to keep them like dream pallets, they can be destroyed if run through, but it practically covers the entire screen with blood.
    3: Dream chests. Cost: 5 tokens.
    When a survivor is opening a dream chest, much like Pinhead, you get the option to teleport to the chest. When the survivor successfully opens a chest and you teleported, you will come out of the chest saying: "Surprise bitch", and then chase them. If you choose not to teleport the chest will melt away after fully opened followed by Freddy's iconic laugh.)
    4: Dream generator. Cost: 5 tokens.
    Like everyone else, I agree that a dream generator should not damage you, but instead it will leak out blood much like normal generators when you teleport to them, except the fake gens will expand and explode. And like the dream chests, you will have the option to teleport to the fake ones, if you choose to do so, you will be in the center after the Gen explodes.
    5: Dream clocks: 10 tokens.
    The most expensive and rewarding item, when purchased, all survivors will see two clocks highlighted, one is the real one, the other is a fake. If a survivor interacts with the right clock, they will wake up, if they choose wrong, they will have their auras revealed for ten seconds and they will suffer from the exposed status effect. As said before, add-ons can be put on to do things like make them exposed or hindered or oblivious or something of that nature.
    These are all my ideas, and I think that some of the things in your video could be used as add-ons, so maybe your damage from a fake Gen could be an IRI add-on or something like that. This is where a lot of new reworked add-ons could come into play, giving different status effects to destroyed dream objects.
    Now to balance all this out, Freddy cannot be seen or interact with survivors in the real world.
    Though the jump rope girl's song will play when Freddy is near and you are awake, to give you a small idea of where he is in the dream world, and allow you to try to hide so you are not pulled into the dream world. If you are pulled in, Freddy will have a normal terror radius, (hopefully with some new music).
    It would also be a dream come true if they make this change for a mid-chapter and brought in Robert England's original Freddy as a legendary skin, along with others like demon Freddy from FVJ and Trenchcoat Freddy WCNN to celebrate.
    Either way, I think the community needs to start something like a partition to raise awareness for the number of people that would buy Freddy and main him if some of these changes were made. I'm still a believer that Stranger Things is coming back this December and the fact that info came like two weeks after a partition was made to bring it back, so I'm hopeful that it can work. And even if the Legendary skins don't come, the gameplay is not an issue to sort out with the license holders, so it is up to Behavior entirely whether these changes are made.

      No anti-loop :/ Those ideas sound OP, but most people seldom use chests (They never will against Freddy if your idea was implemented, and 10 tokens for a 50/50 shot at a 10 second aura reveal is a laughably bad exchange.

      Ye, his terror radius should only be about 10 meters, and you'll see hallucinations of him peeking corners if you are in the dream world for too long.

      This is a great idea, but i do think he should still have anti loop. Dream snares actually work well as anti-loop in normal scenarios anyways so I think they should stay.

    Revisions:
    Dream Generators: Disguise a completed generator as a dream generator for asleep survivors. Sleeping survivors can repair these generators, but they will expand slightly and explode into a shower of blood if the survivor misses a skill check or repairs up to 30% of it. Freddy can teleport to dream generators, and this will reset their progress. Although barely noticeable, dream generators will slowly leak drops of red blood while they are being repaired. Dream Generators that explode will trigger a loud noise notification and wake up survivors working on the generator.
    Waking Up: Alarm clocks in Freddy's sleep radius cannot be used by survivors. This would prevent survivors from being confused when they try to wake up but instantly fall back asleep.
    Dream Walls: Your suggestion would be painful to use because Freddy could try to attack a survivor after walking through a wall but accidentally break the wall. Also, it wouldn't have the "paranoia" aspect because survivors can tell if dream walls are dreams just by walking near them and getting the proximity prompt.
    My Thoughts: Overall, the idea of basically purchasing different dream objects as Freddy seems a little ridiculous. I would make it so Freddy gains a token every time a survivor is put into the dream state and loses a token when a survivor wakes up. Freddy can press a button to consume a token and replace all broken pallets in his terror radius with dream pallets, replace all finished generators in his terror radius with dream generators, replace all dull totems in his terror radius with dream totems, and replace all broken walls with dream walls. These would only appear to survivors who are asleep.

I would love to see some change be implemented with Freddy as he is now and while I dont agree with ALL of the points (Dream gens taking a health state seems a bit unfair), I would love to see some of these ideas implemented.     idk about losing a health state for the fake gen but everything else is a pretty cool idea. I would add dream lit hex totems to the mix to throw survivors off your real hexes. Also when interacting with a dream object, they should not only explode, making the survivor scream, but also inflict oblivious for a short duration. Gives freddy a bit of info and more opportunities to ambush the survivors. Some addons that inflict conditions like exhausted, incapacitated, hindered, and/or exposed when interacting with certain dream objects would neat since all his addons rn are basically useless.

      I think to add on to this concept, why not fake survivors?
      Ai survivors that are injured on the map, will follow the player asking to be healed and once interacted with the player will scream becoming incapacitated for a short time and alerting the killer

    I think Freddy needs an end game change once gens are done he has no power. I like the dream world idea. Dream pallets and your idea of dream walls but what if Freddy could teleport directly to a sleeping survivor kind of like pinhead but no stun a little further away but only if they are asleep for a certain amount of time. His perks also revolve around end game and he’s probably the worst at it maybe base maybe add on but because of his lack of damage output maybe once all gens are done he can just kill sleeping survivors. He needs something to give him a little bit more power since he’s so weak and so boring to play as and against

      I like the idea but I feel like it could cross into being an issue where survivors can never catch a break from freddy in that if they do successfully escape from freddy, but are still asleep, then it would feel kind've cheap if your successful attempt at escaping the killer becomes null and void because he just holds a button and suddenly he's on you again. some easy fixes would be to give it a long cool down or have it as an addon that would replace gen teleports but would still feel kind've cheap regardless. maybe instead have it in stages where the longer the survivor stays asleep the more punished they become. i.e once they hit a certain point it reveals their aura while outside of freddy's TR, and if that doesnt incentivise them to want to wake up then maybe give them the exposed or some other status effect after reaching the longest point.

    Maybe he should be able to disguise himself as one of the survivors hopefully discouraging teamwork. Maybe the gens shouldn't hurt survivors but instead they would function as a normal gen untill the survivor completes 10% of the gen then the gen explodes causing them to scream and waisting their time. Random idea but what if Freddy could also place fake exit gates at the end of the trail?

    I've looked over some different rework ideas for Freddy (most of them before the actual rework happened), but this is the first one that I've heard that I really, really like! It would be more interesting (the tokens being spent to make different fake objects, survivors having to remember where things are and the strat of trying to get out immediately to keep Freddy from getting the chance to spend tokens) and more faithful to the movies (Freddy as the "master" of the dream world), and very unique to Freddy. Now I'm actually kinda sad that's not actually what we have, lol. Great job!

    It would also be interesting if the Dream World looked the same as the real world until you enter chase with freddy or see other proof that you‘re in a Dream. Not only would it be accurate to the movies but it would also make the Dream World more interesting as survivors try to figure out which side of consciousness they are on

    I love this idea, allowing Freddy to be more creative is awesome, and the paranoia survivor’s feel from not trusting their surroundings is really cool.

    Good suggestions. Keeping the teleport is essential to ensuring Freddy keeps map pressure. I don’t really agree with the more dream objects, seems difficult to implement. I think dream totems, pallets, and maybe even windows could be applicable though. Maybe it could cost a token to block off a window.
    What if Freddy could have more map pressure in turn for the removal of snares.
    Changes:
    When in the dream world survivors can’t see Freddy past his lullaby (similar to pill bottle).
    Survivors can no longer exit the dream world via missed skill checks, and would need to go to one of the many alarm clocks to wakeup (no more traveling across map, but they cannot be in Freddy’s terror radius for more than 5 seconds in the action of escaping the dream world). Otherwise the alarm clock explodes, Freddy laughs and has the opportunity to teleport to you.
    Alarm clocks are only open for one minute at a time, before closing for a minute to allow Freddy to gain more map pressure (unless already in the action of grabbing the alarm clock). Alarm clocks will also take 10 seconds.
    Now for add-on reworks:
    Since the dream world is more difficult to enter and escape, there could be addons for severe debuffs to healing. There could either be an add-on that makes boon totems useless in the dream world or it could be basekit. Generator debuffs would only be passive (example, class photo) or another example, seeing a fake Freddy walking up to your generator. The chains could be reworked to allow the auras of survivors doing generators for 3 seconds every 10 seconds. This would promote survivors to exit the dream world.
    The trial cannot be exited when in the dream world. Via add on or basekit. Bloodwarden like effect and alarm clocks close when the last generator is repaired and open when the endgame starts. Once endgame starts survivors no longer enter the dream world.

    Fascinating. I think there's a lot of potential in this, and I agree that his power needs more than anything faith to his original kit. I love the idea of having more dream objects. Maybe dream totems, dream chests, and dream hooks. I think these would make excellent traps to set up as well, and would add to the incentivization of getting out of the dream world fast.
    I also think that the UI would require some reworking as well, because as your version of falling asleep has it, his default power could function as a mini-whispers, knowing someone's near because they just fell asleep.
    Balance wise, Freddy has always struck me as a killer who is meant to get more powerful as the match comes to a close, so giving him more and more power over time as he sets up his resources sounds very on theme with his perks.

    I don't think dream gens work very well as many have already said about losing a health state, but I'd love to see more and more and more dream objects
    dream pallets, dream walls, dream chests, dream totems, hell even dream windows and dream lockers
    as the match goes on and Freddy keeps using tokens to change more and more things, the dream world really does become its own "world" that Freddy is in control of rather than just a filter on your screen.

    when you mention the dream objects i always had a concept for a dream object/Ai survivor just like nemesis and his zombies. This dream object/AI survivor would go up to a gen not being worked on and regress it and it would take a real survivor to go on the gen to make the fake survivors to burst into blood or something like that. im not sure on how difficult this would be to implement in the game but i feel it would work well with your dream object/token idea and give Freddy extra map pressure.

    i heard about many ideas to fix freddy but this is by far the best one. When beeing awake it feels like you dont know where the danger is at, while the dreamworld is terror. I feel like when im going against freddy, i never really care much if i am awake or not. i can wake up extremly easy and i go to dreamworld as soon as i get hit. So in most cases i dont really care about it but thoose changes makes thoose decissions more important for youreself and you can personaly decide youre playstyle against him. Unlike plauge where you throw the whole game if the team doesnt agree with youre playstyle, on this killer its really just for youreself
    Whatever, more people need to listen to youre words so im gonna sub and wish more people are gonna watch this

    Those ideas are completely fine, but there are also a few things i would rework
    - Change the fall asleep within a few terror radius to the old "pull survivors into the dream world" ability (Also maybe a Add on which makes a survivor fall asleep after X seconds)
    - Fake Gens would disappear 20 (or more, can be extended with addons) seconds after the survivor works on them
    - Dream Pallets and Dream walls seem fine
    - Teleporting to Generators should remain the same
    - Ability to place fake clocks for survivors to be woken up, if survivors interact with them they will receive the deafen effect (the same as hag traps)
    Also, failled skill checks shouldnt wake the survivors up, we saw in the moviess, Freddy exploding a guy head with loud sounds. Survivors should be looking for the clocks but also, the clocks shouldnt always be the furthest ones away from you. Some survivors still dont care and stay in dream world so they should be trying to leave as quick as possible
    Idk what to say tho, i barely play dbd and idk if this would work but they did freddy dirty. He had the most potential for a unique and fun power and they simply gave him traps which slow survivors down (also maybe add a addon which gives you the ability to place snares also?)

    I agree with pretty much everything on here as it makes sense from a lore and balance perspective. Having dream generators remove a health state would just be even more of a noob stomper but having it maybe reveal them for a few seconds and giving them Incapacitated.
    It would be hard from a coding and balancing perspective but it would be worth it rather than having a killer everyone hates.

    It's really cool to see all the ideas in this video and how the comments section is building on them. However, it does raise a couple questions for practical implementation. I think the falling asleep mechanic is good and makes sense, as well as the fake pallets and walls. Fake gens are a bit of a concern. It would be interesting if you could teleport to them like a normal gen, but at twice the speed and with faster recharge afterwards, so it functions as a bit of a teleport node in the map, with survivors actively seeking to repair them (maybe like 10-20 seconds) to make them disappear. I've seen talk of also adding dream hexes, chests, and alarm clocks. Hexes seem a logical albeit powerful addition. Chests seem like they would be too weak, so there would need to be some way to get survivors to interact with them. Maybe an add-on that removes alarm clocks and forces you to open or rummage a chest to find one to wake up, which would make chests more powerful. Fake alarm clocks would be very strong, but depending how they work, SWF could counter them if everyone is shown the same fake clock, and if failing skill checks remains a way to wake up, it would be kinda silly. I like the idea of fake pallets, hexes, walls, and gens, personally. The biggest question would be how to control it. I imagine they would all work similarly to how Freddy's dream pallets work now, but would they all be active at once, or would you have to cycle through them? Either way, the HUD could become cumbersome with either the outlines of objects being shown everywhere, or the controls could be clunky with the killer having to rapidly switch between items to place down. Also, how would perks like detective's hunch and deja vu work with the auras of fake objects? All things that would need to be accounted for, but I think the ideas are very cool and would make Freddy one of the most fun and unique killers in the game if implemented. It would certainly help with figuring out spawn locations for certain objects, like totems and gens!

    I think for the dream transition changes they should just revert back to freddy needing to pull survivors in. The mindgames you could pull were realy fun and worked like how sadako does now, except you have much more time to make plays and have to remember when your visible or invisible. In my opinion this will allow for more interesting play between the survivor and freddy and would make up for a removal of an active chase power like dream snares. Reimplementing a nerfed version of his old aura reading would also be great that only works while survivors are near a clock so that freddy can juggle this mechanic between multiple survivors to get downs like he could do in the old days. This could be countered by feigning a wakeup to make him break chase for no reason or by going to a teammate instead which would not alert freddy. Perhapse freddy could also sacrafice some of his tokens to see auras outside of a range in order to potential catch survivors in unfavorable tiles while asleep.

    I love the new sleep mechanic! I always thought that New Freddy lacked the Chase-you-while-you're-asleep aspect, and I love how you re-implemented it. I sadly have a problem with the Illusionary Objects part of his power though.
    It's a great idea, and I love the idea of placing fake gens, but it unfortunately suffers from the Noob Stomping / F-tier High Ranks problem. Any Red Rank would never be caught dead touching a gen he knows wasn't there before, and even worse the Dream Walls are far too situational. There are many a maps that there are little to no Walls on. I really love the idea, and I love that you've taken the time to make him lore accurate, but I think the troublesome Freddy power needs a tad bit more of a change.
    What Freddy needs is a power that to some degree is non-counterable on top of his Dream Pallet Power. Illusionary powers suffer too much from being 100% counterable if you're smart enough. Alright, this might seem bad at first, but I think Dream Snares should be brought back just not in their original form. In fact, This new version of mine is not only better, but more lore accurate as well!
    These new Snares would be much bigger (roughly 4 meters in diameter) and would instead of giving you Hindered after stepping in it, it would slow you while in it. An area of effect, if you will. And what I think makes it even cooler is that if you stay in this circle of blood for too long, you will sink into it just like in the movie. This will bring the Survivor to a complete halt, giving the Killer a free hit. You would place them the same as old Snares, but instead of just mindlessly placing them at windows and pallets, you would place them more like Hag traps (In open spaces between loops) since they are much bigger know. A common mind game that comes to my mind is placing it on one side of a pallet, and after a Survivor vaults fake going one way and then committing to the other side. This would, in theory, cause the Survivor to have to backtrack, and in doing so stay in the blood for long enough to get stuck. Counterplay on the Survivors' part would be simple. Set off these traps while Freddy is absent, and flee the loop if Freddy starts to place one of these traps mid-loop.
    This is a very new idea of mine and I would love to see if you like it or think that it suffers too much from the current problems with Snares. Once again, I greatly enjoyed your vid, and think you did a great job of fixing Freddy's problems. I hope this wasn't too long of a read for you.

    I would say make it so that you don’t hear a lullaby, you can’t see him or hear him. Make it so that his m1 while awake , puts you asleep after a short period of time. And you can’t wake yourself up as outside the dream world you look like you are downed (asleep). While in the dream world you can move around freely (think of it like Spirits phasing). Freddy can only put two survivors asleep at a time. While in the dream world you can interact with what is the generator but will not make actual progress on the real gen. In order to wake up you need to find the other survivors to interact with them for them to get a notification that you are asleep (or they find you laying down snoring) and wake you up with smelling salts (think tapes like onryo) or when Freddy downs you ( when downed he sees your sleeping location that is now actually bleed out and can decide to teleport to you and pick you up or find a new prey to put asleep. The counter play is another item you want to obtain and use that forces you to stay awake but only makes it take longer and more and more frequently you begin to hallucinate, what would be Freddy’s terror radius when during this time would be his lullaby (until you forget to take it and fall asleep). You can only hold either smelling salt or the shot of drugs to keep you awake longer, not both.
    Freddy’s powers would be dream attacks like huge claws , rigged pallets or vault locations or closets. (Think of the Litch killer spells that you rotate to and have separate cooldowns for). If players don’t wake you up or Freddy fails to down you in the dream world , a “bleed out” duration bar that ticks down (so long as you are not being chased) much faster than a normal bleed out timer. When that timer ends you come out of the sleep on your own.
    I would add that while in the dream world, you’ll hear his lullaby as he gets closer to you.

    I always wondered about bringing back the old dragging into sleep mechanic but giving an obvious alert (which did that happen before? I wasn't around), keeping the passive sleep timer, keeping dream snares, and making dream pallets basekit...
    Maybe adding only one other "dream object"
    But Freddy and his dream objects are not visible while awake... So you can kind of trap up an area, drag a Survivor in, but the survivor is forewarned so they have the choice of where to run.
    I just like the idea of old Freddy a lot... Conceptually, it was an A+, just ill balanced.

    Fantastic concept! I think that instantly losing a health state seems a bit harsh, though. Maybe instead of taking a health state, the fake generator could grow tree roots similar to the ones seen on the alarm clocks throughout the map, holding the survivor in place for a short time and notifying the killer, as well as granting Freddy a free teleport to that fake generator, somewhat similarly to Pinhead teleporting to a survivor solving the Lament Configuration.

    On Pixel Bush's video for Freddy's lore, there is a pinned comment about how little inherent mindgames for the dream world could be fun, all of which emphasize the "weirdness" of being in a dream. Like, a generator that has never been touched sounding and acting like its at 70% completion, or picking up a toolbox from a chest and BAM it's now a medkit, or the sound effect for exit gates being powered triggering at the first or second generator being completed. All these little details would have a low chance at happening and would make Freddy's power have a bit more personality.

    I love the dream object idea, but I don't fully agree with removing passive sleep. Maybe just slow it down, and then make it faster the closer Freddy gets. Plus, make the lullaby heard while they're awake, and heartbeat when they're asleep.

    I loved Freddy 1.0. He was extremely fun although really bad, his power was extreme unique. I sometimes wish they gave him the generator teleport ability as a buff and he wouldve been fine.

    I really like your presentation here. And I feel like this would be a great thing for BHVR to test, even if some numbers need to be tweaked. I mained Freddy for a long time until a few months after his rework, because I slowly realized (as with the rest of the community) that although he was slightly stronger at the high ranks, I was now falling asleep playing him. I have a soft spot for freddy, as he was one of the reasons I got so good so fast at killer when i first started, because good survivors gave me a really hard challenge (ESPECIALLY when mettle of man came out. That was still pre-rework freddy). So seeing that BHVR has gutted the interesting parts of his kits to make him extremely boring makes me really sad, and I hope your well constructed video is seen by someone at BHVR!!

    I would agree, I had an similar idea for him, but things that I would chance or add are, instead of losing a health state by touching a fake gen how about you get caught in a trap (a bit like trapper‘s traps) and you only lose a health state when Freddie comes to you in time and can hit you, you could also add that the fake gens work like normal gens (you can get progress on them and the trap only triggers when a skillcheck appears no matter if you hit it or not, you can’t finish a fake gen, nothing would happen but with this change you could trick and catch multiple survivors ). What I also thought what could be added are more fake objects like fake windows (you get slowed down extremely by vaulting, while Freddie can walk through it), fake totem and chests (which can work like mini Generator traps but you are trapped for a shorter time). Another or rather question would be, if Freddie could teleport to fake gens and that they could stay in endgame so Freddie has some mobility with teleporting
    (Little side note I just saw that I wrote Freddy wrong, it’s cause my cat is called Freddie with IE and I had that in my head this way XD)

    my freddy rework:
    Ability: Dream Slash
    Freddy can charge up a Dream Slash similiar to a billy chainsaw that would make freddy dash forward and if he hit someone, they would sink in a blood pool and would be sent to the dream world.
    Dream World: In the dream world, you are in freddy's game now. When sent here, your body is sleeping in the real world and a survivor has to wake you up so you can leave. You can also find an alarm clock to wake you up. In the dream world, every survivor is oblivious. Also, any survivor here can't do gens but has extra obstacles to there advantage.
    Blood Pools: Freddy can place blood pools that basically are demo portals.

    For the fake gens taking a health state, my idea is where if you use one while injured, it will instead inflict deep wound for maybe 20-30 seconds, or make an add-on to be able to down the survivor from fake gens, even if they are injured

    Great idea. I'm with everyone on how the gens taking health states seems a little too strong. But being to create fake doors, gens and pallets sounds really fun. He would be a fairly strong killer, but not too strong. It also the same type of play style as plague, where you either stay sick, but injured, or cleanse, but give plague he power.

    _Combine his fake pallets & snares and make it you choose b/w both like Clown bottles_ .
    _And also his add-ons needs rework " its most useless add-ons in the game right now_ .
    _I like the idea of fake breakable wall that Freddy can walk through and I would like to add Fake Hex totems and give him something during end since he's kind weak when gens are done "maybe make him teleport to completed gens_

    my brother used to play pre-reworked freddy for fun, and literally all he wanted was a tiny buff that lets freddy pull people into dream world faster. but when he told me how he would rework freddy it's pretty similar to your ideas! fake pallets/gens in dream world, but his idea of fake gens was to simply waste survivors' time. he also suggested that asleep survivors wouldn't be able to see other survivors that are awake
    edit: now that i think about it, his version of freddy will probably also be hated lol and swf teams are gonna be strong against freddy bc they can tell each other where the real gens are

    Interesting ideas no doubt.
    The idea of taking the whole dream pallet mechanic and being able to mimic majority of the game's interactables such as walls and gens is a neat idea.
    However, the generator taking away a health state seems a bit too overkill. I'd probably prefer a concept where the survivors can in fact work on the dream generators, but up to a certain limit, which we could say 25%, after which the gen dissolves into blood, notifies freddy and potentially applies a status effect such as exposed or having their aura shown for a short duration would be interesting.
    What i would add personally are totems, dull and hex alike, which could synergize somewhat with bringing hex perks, and perhaps a fake exit gate (both the totem and gates would maybe follow the gen limit idea). This could add variety to his power, but i think that they would be limited to add-ons, similarly to dream pallets currently.
    Well presented in a fun to watch style, and good suggestions.

    I get that making the wall solid but breakable by survivors has counterplay, but I like the idea of remembering which walls are fake, and being about to run through them. I feel they could have the same effect as a dream snare to make them still useful, and having counterplay as other survivors could destroy it, but It may not be very useful I'm not sure. I like the idea of having fake objects both sides can run through, it's just a matter of being aware.

    There are already quite a few comments about it, but dream totems are a must for this power. Most likely hex totems, but dull totems work too, especially if a boon is equipped. While asleep, you won't have any clue that it's a fake until you have fully cleansed or blessed it. If you cleanse it, you scream and get inflicted with a random status effect or something. If you bless it, you lose a health state, but you don't reveal your location. I think that would add a layer of depth to this idea.

    An addition I would make are dream chests that once opened could instadown if freddy chooses to teleport to it. This is not only predictive as they need to teleport to it and know when to, but also adds another traditional idea to the playing field.

    In my opinion Freddy dragging survivors into the dream world was, although inefficient, one of the coolest feeling things in dbd. Of course, that feeling immediately left you as soon as they just failed a skill check mid fall asleep but…

    Great video. Simple but genius tweak to the messy Sleep system - who knew it was that easy to make every Freddy chase happen when you're asleep? - & I love the new dream objects. Dream walls can create some pog clips & dream generators (reworked, but comments have mentioned that already) could act as built-in slowdown. Maybe something like the more complete the generator gets the slower it progresses (impossible not to notice at 50%, grinds to a complete halt at 66%) and it's up to the survivor to notice its a fake gen and they're wasting their time? You could steal 30 or so seconds from the average survivor before they go 'hey wait this is a fake gen'

    I think this is almost perfect but would love to also see fake hex totems and maybe even fake chests yaknow but might main Freddy if your version for a rework came into play it'd be so fun like the new idea for a mastermind killer with resident evil it will be a way to introduce this concept for the new killer aswell as it's more fun to plan out a chase then just mindlessly chasing and slashing until they die

    One additional change to really mess with survivors is to have rushed vaults on windows while asleep will make the survivor vault through a different nearby spot towards Freddy. The ability could have a cooldown and with add-ons even block the window afterward so they can't double back.

    I really like the dream objects. Say if he set it up prior he could put dream windows that last a period of time in certain area. (Like other side of shack wall) so it could mess peoples routes up. Or if he actives it I would make windows in a 32 m range (or the direction he is facing) appear to the left or right of the normal window and the normal disappears until survivors gets right next to it. Causing slow or medium vaults. Have it be cheapish. Or add a little more length to small loops by copy pasting a bush or something.
    But love the ideas. Just wanted to spit something else on there

    I feel like a decent rework for freddy would be to lean more into the teleportation combined with this for example letting freddy "mark" a dream pallet so when it's dropped it teleports freddy under the pallet rewarding the survivors for scouting out safe areas while awake and punishing them for pre-dropping dream pallets
    possibly for the fake generators let the survivors work on them for at least 10 seconds, during those 10 seconds the fake gen gets a noise notification and lets you teleport the same as you would for a regular gen but you appear 2x as fast possibly throwing off the survivor however teleporting to the gen instantly removes the tokens you spent on it returning 1 token for every 5 seconds spent after teleporting along with removing the fake gen
    I feel with these changes freddy could be stronger in end game with fake walls/pallets but thrive in the midgame giving survivors the feeling he could be around any corner at any time along with keeping the "brain itching" gameplay freddy has letting you never have complete downtime of just moving from a side of the map to the other letting you constantly have something to do I'm not an expert on balance but at least to me this idea feels enjoyable to both sides with the unique elements of making you plan out an escape/route to chase in before being put into a chase on either side

    I wouldn't change the fake gens to do damage. However, increasing the power of Freddy against sleeping survivors would be a major step in the right direction. I'd make it so, basekit, Freddy can dream basically everything, and just get rid of Dream Snares entirely.
    --Dream Pallets
    --Dream Breakable Walls (Survivors can't tell if they're real or not until they get really close, then have to take an action for a few seconds to dispel them, while Freddy can walk through them no problem)
    --Dream Totems (Disguise Hex totems as Dull and vice versa, survivors don't know which is which until they finish cleansing it, and can put fake Dull/Hex totems in unoccupied Totem spawns [Or where destroyed totems were] that break immediately upon interaction and cause the Survivor to scream)
    --Dream Geneators (To sleeping survivors, generators appear to have a random amount of completion [Weighted toward mostly finished gens looking barely touched, and vice versa], only interacting shows which is which)
    --Dream Windows (That can't be Fast Vaulted and Entity Block after 1 vault instead of 3)
    --Dream Chests (that open to reveal a whole lot of nothing, and maybe make Survivors scream)
    --Dream Gates (Gates that always look unpowered [No Red Lights], regardless of opening percent)
    Then give him a bucket of, say, 10 or so charges (Like Hag) that he can make Dream Objects out of. Passive Dream Objects (Gens and Gates) don't count toward/against this limit.
    Make Survivors really motivated to get out of the Dream World, rather than just kind of dealing with it. Change his invisibility to outside 24m (Instead of 32), partially/phasing visible from 24m-16m, so it's difficult for awake survivors to observe him placing his Dream Objects. I also wouldn't change how he deals with awake survivors, except that hitting an awake survivor overrides the sleep-immunity from alarm clocks.

    I think dream hex totems would round this out, maybe giving 10 seconds or so of exposed if they are interacted with (to mimic haunted grounds)

    I love the idea of dream items instead of just pallets and snares, but there’s one oversight that I didn’t see mentioned. With the token system that you mentioned being related to who’s in the dream state and that being dependent on survivors in somewhat close proximity, Freddy will essentially have whispers on basekit. He’ll instantly and always know how many people are near him by how many tokens he has at a given time. Unless that was mentioned somewhere and I missed it that seems like a pretty big thing

      I think that when survivor is in a DreamWorld then he needs to wake up by clock or survivors, no other way around, which means no whispers

    Dream lockers that freddy can see you're aura when you enter them would also be pretty good and to make it slightly less op you could give it something to tell its a dream locker such as a sound playing when you enter it such as the squish of blood of they could have a claw mark on it from freddys finger knives which is something you won't notice in the heat of the moment unless you're paying attention

    The only thing I would add is perhaps a vibration look and slightly bloody exterior to take objects so that people in solo queue would still have a chance to determine the fakes, albeit they need to pay attention to the details and quiet tunes

    I like the change to the power because it fixes a big issue with freddies original incarnation where you could do nothing in chase but if they are put in the dream state when you get close so you don’t need to worry
    One thing i would add is the dream walls can’t fully encase a building

    I think making the survivor be able to work in a fake gen to gain nothing and waste a lot of time doing it, is better than just a free hit

    I would prefer the sleep radius to be kind of like a stalk mechanic. not holding anything down, but the closer you are the Freddy the faster you'd fall asleep, but if you barely hear the lullaby in the distance, you'd still be falling asleep just at a slower rate

    One idea I had that might be cool is if you're in the dream state all gens appear to have no progress, and the progress bar doesn't appear when working on a gen so you don't know what gens are super close and what don't have any progress.

    Incredibly unique ideas here. My only gripe is that he would remain pretty boring on a mechanical level. Pallet Freddy isn't exciting to play as because you're just tapping M2 all the time and I feel like this rework would just amplify that problem. Regardless, great video!

    I really like the dream world rework you’ve come up with, it would make him more active during the early game, and also make power’s game delay much more reliable. However the dream object idea is kinda bad. Good players are just too aware to fall for most dream world tricks more than once. The breakable wall one is the only one I see having potential in all levels of play. Freddy needs to have a chase power, or else he ends up like sadako. I feel as if it would be fine to implement the dream pallets and walls idea you have, but also keeps snares as part of his kit (although I have a different idea to how the dream pallets should work)

    Great ideas, amazing presentation. My only addition here would be the main thing Freddy has over other horror characters: customizability. Freddy's use of the Dream World is an attack medium that is incredibly nuanced and allows for near-limitless creativity. I am of the opinion that he should have add-ons similar to the Doctor's, but more plentiful and actually affecting of his power. Most every add-on should take something from his base kit and change it to something new, with some that simply improve the base kit if that's what's the most fun for you. For example, a Common add-on that replaces Dream Walls with Dream Barbs. By looking at a vault spot or downed pallet and spending three tokens, he can block it, keeping survivors from vaulting it, but letting him go over it. These barbs remain for five seconds and the tokens used to make them are refunded one at a time every three seconds after the barbs disapear. This creativity would not only make facing Freddy one of the most suspenseful and interesting things in the game, as you'll never know just what he's running until you're face to face with a wall of barbs, but also make him feel more authentic to the endless creativity behind the movie's kills and setpieces. Add on some voice lines from Jackie Earle Haley and some unique menu, terror radius, and chase music, and he'll be golden.

    Wow, thats a nice Idea, as a once freddy main before rework I really like the way you put it.
    I think the generator one is kinda complicated, specially in this meta of boons, if so, it can just be like basic, heal...
    I think a bit of lethality would be more nice, and more impactfull, you will lose 5 tokens at a enchange of a full health state, putting the surv in the ground. Not clear at all if its balanced or not.

    I love these ideas
    Dream pallets/windows take 1 token
    Dream hex totems/ Walls take 3
    Dream generators/Clocks take 5
    Dream windows (windows will be blocked until a survivor interacts with them and they cant be placed close to each other) and pallets can be removed by a survivor interacting with them but reveals your aura to the nightmare for 3 seconds
    Dream hex totems when cleansed waste time for the survivor and reveals all survivors auras in the dream world for 3 seconds/ walls will function just like you said
    Dream generators i didnt like the health state part it was too op like most ppl suggest, when it hits 25% it incapacitates the survivor for 25 seconds (freddy can teleport to them but it removes the generator) / clocks will reset their dream world timer if interacted with causeing survivors to stay in the dream world longer
    For this most of his add ons will need another overhaul and i would like to see fired up and remember me become something more usual. Maybe Scorge hook: Fired up (does the same thing but requires you to hook individual survivors giving you up to 4 tokens instead of 5) and remember me could maybe make strechy arm freddy a reality
