- hey guys!! :)
we had cheer tryouts this week!! well, technically not yet bc the actual cheer tryout day is tomorrow (3/30), but we hosted the cheer bootcamp monday-wednesday! i got to spend around three hours everyday with all the cheer seniors (aka my best friends hehe) so it's been A TON of fun. the incoming freshman trying out are pretty good too so that's exiting :)
also, it looks like we're goofing off a lot during workshops, but i swear we're all doing our job! there's nine seniors so we all have our own specific job (i taught the long competition cheer!), so there's time for us to just chill while the other seniors are teaching

Honestly this makes me so sad I recently moved so that means a new cheer team. This just reminds me of my old team and all the tryouts I did with my cheer family 💔 I'm definitely excited though to tryout for my new school 🎀

you should definitely do high school cheer! i'm a senior right now and have been on the cheer team for four years now, but all my favorite high school memories have been through cheer. so basically, it's been a blast for me & i'm sure you'll love it!
I’m so nervous I’m trying out for high school cheer I’m gonna be a freshman, I’ve never cheered or danced before I’m pretty okay I’m my right leg splits but definitely not on left and I don’t think I can dance for th life of me but I do like smiling

Any tips for tryouts :) this is my first year trying out and I'm really nervous
practice the tryout material until you're super duper comfortable with it! in the actual tryout process you'll most likely be nervous, so try focusing on saying the cheers really slowly so you can hit all your motions sharply! most importantly, have fun and SMILE! :) I know you'll do great!

I've never done cheers before. but I'd really like to tryout for cheerleding. Any tips or suggestions?
you should definitely tryout! it's so much fun, i definitely recommend you trying it:)
here are a few main tips!!
1. say the cheers really slowly! it helps you hit your motions more because you aren't rushing to complete the movements
2. smile! the judges tend to like girls that have facials and are having fun as they cheer.
3. keep a positive attitude! learning your tryout material in a just a few days can be really overwhelming, but just stay calm and optimistic because with practice you will be able to execute it!

Cat G.G. I've never danced or cheered before and I had tryouts two days ago with 50 girls and only 10 made it AND I MADE IT just be sharp and smile
I have a question could I make the highschool jv team without knowing how to tumble
it honestly depends on the level of cheerleading the high school team you're trying out for, but for the most part because you're trying out for JV cheer, I would say that you don't have to stress out about not being able to tumble! as long as you nail the rest of the tryout material (ex: choreography, cheers, jumps, etc.) then I think you should be fine! just have fun with the whole process, and I wish you the best of luck! :)

oh no, I've been meaning to explain but i keep forgetting! at my school, the seniors play a game during second semester that's "The Wanted". basically, each person has a target and is able to get that person out as long as his/her target isn't wearing a safety item! and one of the safety item includes a fanny pack, so thats why we were all wearing a fanny pack!
