    Hi Spencer, I don't want to defend Katir, but it should be mentioned that he got a sponsorship contract with Asics in the beginning of the year 2021. This may have helped him in his great progression that year. Perhaps from then on he was financially independent and could focus full-time on running for the first time in his career.

    A part of me hates these "whereabouts" suspensions for people who just aren't great at staying organized on updating their location from day to day and end up getting banned despite being clean. But, on the other hand, it's part of the job and this athlete in particular is someone whose name has been whispered about the past couple years as being someone whose rapid improvement seemed...questionable.

      "A part of me hates these "whereabouts" suspensions for people who just aren't great at staying organized on updating their location from day to day and end up getting banned despite being clean."
      This DOESN'T happen and has NEVER happened in the history of sport. It isn't a "gotcha" system. You don't have to account for every hour of every day for your entire life. And they DON'T just show-up at random times ANYWHERE in a 24hr period! The athlete has an APP where they specify a 2hr window where they'll be everyday. Like 99.9% of athletes simply list their HOME ADDRESS and sometime in the morning like 5am-7am... you KNOW.... WHERE YOU SLEEP AND WAKE UP EVERY DAY when NOT in competition or attending training. You can list any 2hr time windows you desire, but everyone just puts their home address and an EARLY window in the morning BEFORE they've peed. Also, you don't have to be at that location for the ENTIRE 2hr window! You only need to be there AT SOME POINT DURING that 2hr window... like just show up for a couple minutes. And if you suddenly decide to go on vacation or you get lucky & decide to sleep with someone you picked up at a party/bar/club, you can literally CHANGE YOUR WHEREABOUTS LOCATION 1 MINUTE AHEAD OF TIME without incurring a USADA/WADA violation. Also, if you ARE NOT at your specified location anytime during the 2hr window, they don't just issue a violation. THEY CALL YOU ON THE PHONE and ask, "where are you?" "we're looking for you", and they ATTEMPT to meet up w/ u. The only way an athlete legitimately gets a whereabouts violation is if they're WAY out of contact... like you're in a different country/state OR if you're INTENTIONALLY dodging the regulators... like not answering txts & calls! A PRO athlete is never going to be out-of-touch... like ever, unless they're intentionally dodging. Ex.. Like if you specify a window of 5am-7am and they show up at your house at 6:45m, but you're out picking up bagels & coffee, they'll PHONE YOU and work out a rendezvous. They don't just issue an immediate strike.

    • @PatNeedhamUSA
      @PatNeedhamUSA 4 місяці тому

      @@EricS-uf9mv"but everyone just puts their home address and an EARLY window in the morning BEFORE they peed" - could you explain why that's the case, like just out of convenience or something more to help with passing the tests if/when they're doping / on something illegal?

    • @EricS-uf9mv
      @EricS-uf9mv 4 місяці тому

      @@PatNeedhamUSA The reason is b/c you MUST produce a urine sample ON THE SPOT, in ENOUGH QUANTITY, and in sufficient CONCENTRATION (like if it's too dilute they won't accept the sample), WHILE being watched. As you can image, it's a massive PITA trying to pee on demand while someone is literally staring at you... there is no privacy allowed. And if you CAN'T produce a sample? Well then the tester will literally WAIT in your house (like for hours) until you DO! Sooooo.... it's just easier all around of athletes to schedule an early morning window before they've peed.

    As I see it, pro runners are monsters, they have crazy physiologies and they train more than anybody. And then you have to add up the dopping. So in my opinion, when someone that isn’t even the best in the world gets caught dopping, that means that the guys that are beating him are probably dopping too. Otherwise, that would mean that there’s people who are able to beat someone which is already an outlier and is dopping too WITHOUT taking anything, which is both crazy and pretty unlikely.

    And you think he is the only world class runner doping? Dream on. The increase in the number of runners (of both sexes) running close to WR times is all down to "supershoes" and double threshold days? Yeh, right. Athletes (or more likely their coaches and doctors) have worked out how to beat the biological passports and use EPO and other stuff more effectively without testing positive. In this case I would suggest that Katir got a bit careless and suspected he would test positive when tested so his only option was to avoid the test. If you had already missed two tests an athlete with nothing to fear would make damn sure he was available for the third one!

    I don’t think he’s doping, 2021 was a breakout year for most athletes all around, and if you look at his workouts (sweat elite) he was running really fast in them and really working himself, I think he picked up a lot more foot speed which helped him, and training through the initial quarantine would’ve also helped as that would be the only thing he could focus on. Yes we didn’t see him have immediate results like Joshua cheptegei did in 2020 but it may have been a great base for him into 2021

      @@TheRealBrayoTv I don’t think he is, but he may very well be doping , I hope not for the sake of the sport and I argued my reasons why not, doesn’t mean I’m in lalaland, obviously there are reasons against which were listed in the video but he also asked at the end of the video for peoples opinion and I’m simply giving my reasoning along with the reasons he gave in the video

      Nobody had a progression like his in 2021. It's incredibly suspicious.
      And the sweat elite videos are from after his breakthrough year. So of course he looks fast in them.

    Here this man is dealing with an injury and you spend 6 minutes trashing an athlete who’s trying to defend himself. Can the man go a week proving his innocence without you trying to profit off his struggles. No ones trashing you

      Lots of people do trash Spencer on here, so that's not an educated observation. And Spencer has felt strongly about doping for as long as I've seen him on here, so its not surprising that this news inspired a video.

    Big deal? Katir came out of nowhere and started placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd easily.
    This confirms that the top 1-10% athletes are doping, including Jakob Ing.
