All your framed pieces looked amazing. I’d like to try thrifting for frames then re-sizing to fit my project. Thanks for sharing the online store. Enjoy Stitch-Con! I agree that respite for both parents of a child with a disability is absolutely necessary. Happy stitching!
Hello Sally!! I really have been enjoying Your flosstubes. This most recent on on stitch con was really good. The finished projects that You showed were truly beautiful, your stitching is lovely. I also enjoyed the "mini-tutorial" on how to purchase a frame on line. I do have 1 question though, when You do your lacing, do you lace both horizontally and vertically or just on direction? I hope that You have a wonderful time at Stitch - Con and I look forward to Your recap video. Have a great week, stay safe and GOD BLESS. Linda
Hi Linda! Thank you for watching my videos. I’m really glad you’re enjoying them. To answer your question: I do lace both horizontally and vertically. If I’m working on a rectangular project, I usually start by lacing the two longest sides together, then fold over the short sides. Some people like to fold the corners to mitre them, but I don’t usually bother unless the back of the piece might be visible. Hope that makes sense!
I must have the tiniest Michael’s in the world because I only could find 10x13 photo frames and they didn’t have a large enough rise to fit the fabric. Oh well! I’ll keep looking. Better to finish something a little too big and redo it than to finish it too small, right? Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
So glad to see a fellow Michigander with a Flosstube. I live in Clay. Are you able to say what town you live in? Love your Huckleberry Farm piece Janice
Hi! I’m sorry for my late response. I live in Midland, which is close to Bay City/Saginaw. Appreciate seeing another Michigander here. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for the compliment! I’m really glad you’re enjoying the videos. I learned about Stitch-Con from watching other people on flosstube go last year and feeling sad to miss out. There is a website (I believe it’s www.stitch-con.com) where they will post when they start selling tickets for 2025, probably sometime in July or August.
Hi Alli! 9x12 was a little tight because there’s a bit of overlap on the edges. The more I look at it, the more I think it’s fine. After all, water is vast and mysterious. I’m looking forward to “stamping” along with you on our quilts this summer!

10 x 13 is a standard frame size although not as popular as 11 x 14. I saw several at Hobby Lobby last week when looking for a 9 x 12

You could do a really tight framing and do 9x12 - or would that cut off some of the stitching?

@@SallyStitchesAnd I wrote that before I saw it in the frame and I think it looks great, no need to make any changes haha
