    Hi , thank you both for the memories, I was just behind you guys, I started on the 17th May in Irun without Plans or Guide Book just followed the arrows, got lost a couple of time, but found my way back, 95% of the time I was hiking alone no big crowd and it was peaceful very peaceful, yes the water from Baamondo to Sobrado 40k I had stream water, it was a beautiful Adventure, nothing is perfect and if you are planning a Camino just go for it and create beautiful memories, if you make a mistake you will live to tell a tale a thousand times, Buen Camino

    If you're traveling with a group, apartments are a great cheap option. My group booked apartments every so often and it was as low as €10pp/night, often with multiple private rooms, full kitchens, and even free laundry.

      Yesss, this is an amazing tip! We would sometimes on rest days got apartments and they go for so cheap, especially if there is more then 2-3 people! Great tip.

    I compared noted between what I have experienced on the Portuguese Way and what you guys experienced on the del Norte. The Albergue are about the same price. The private Albergues and Hostels might be a bit more in Portugual. They averaged about 30 euros. Food is a bit more expense too in Portugal. Unfortunately, there is no Pilgrims Menus in Portugal … at least not below Porto.

I know this video was posted a year ago, and I'll be lucky if either of you even see my comment, but... Any suggestions? Is the norther route good for late summer/early autumn?

    hi guys, how did you find walking the camino with tropicfeel shell? I've got the same backpack and wish I didn't have to buy a new one but I'm a little worried it's not a 'proper' hiking backpack :) also, do you have any experience with their shoes?

    • @kitty_s23456
      @kitty_s23456 9 місяців тому

      Hi. I don't an opinion re: their backpack since I didn't buy it. For the shoes, I bought their "canyon" shoes (now called "all terrain"). They had crazy advertising in FB and I fell for the hype. I got them in late 2019 and I wasn't able to use them for serious hiking since 2020 lockdowns happened in my country.
      TBH when I received them, I felt underwhelmed. The uppers were very thin and kinda flimsy. But then they're supposed to be quick dry, so there's that. They're not zero drop. There's quite a difference between heel & toe and it took time to get used to.
      I used them a lot for walking on concrete and grass - they're OK for that purpose. The grip isn't too good - I wouldn't recommend it on rough terrain.
      In summary, if you want a city walking shoe, it's OK. For mountains, I wouldn't recommend them. I also felt they were overpriced for the quality. I've thrown them away since the soles have worn off and the uppers got a hole on the big toe part.
      Also, the email that I got (since it was a crowdfunding at that time) showed that the company was based in Europe. When the shoes were shipped to me, they came from China.
      The courier also charged me an additional amount since he said postage wasn't included. When I bought it, it said the price included shipping, so I shouldn't have been charged extra. I was like, WTF?!
