What you said in the description is exactly what viewers need to understand watching people like these 2. You can only improve FPS, ping and input lag based on what you have available in your PC and your internet package. If your monitor can only reach 75 refresh rate, cranking all the visual settings to max will not make it run better. I've done this and i get lower fps because my monitor cant process all that information in a timely manner. Jerian releases a Boost FPS video evertyime there is a new Chapter of Fortnite. Not much changes from chapter to chapter, so his videos get a bit stale. Either way, you are limited to the hardware in your system and the technology available to you. I'm sorry this went on a bit. So I tested some settings, and while some may work as in increase your gpu utilization, it won’t increase it any further if it’s maxed already.

3:10 what HW Accel does is that it utilizes your GPU to accelerate some tasks. Since Fortnite is mostly a CPU heavy game this won't affect your performance, UNLESS you are getting bottlenecked by your GPU

    1. regedits need a restart to actually change 2.all these wont give you +500 fps, they will improve stability, latency and might slightly improve fps and 1% lows 3.testing fps while looking at the sky is pointless

    - have a pc, not a laptop, often it can avoid it to overheat and make the cpu not limiting itself

Nice video, I am quite a technical person and help people optimise various things, Another common thing I see is people saying that using the lowest graphical settings will always be better, which isn't true. I'll give some examples that mainly apply to performance mode:
Texture Quality: due to the nature of how rasterization works, the resolution of a texture does not impact how fast the rasterizer can sample a texture's color at specific coordinates per pixel. Texture quality only matters if you are severely vram or memory bandwidth constrained, which could result in hitches due to swapping
View distance: view distance makes a very minimal impact to performance from my testing, and having a lower view distance can put you at a disadvantage for 3 main reasons, first one being not being able to see items and player builds from further away. You should always maximise how much player activity you can see to be fully aware of your surroundings. Second one is stability, a lower view distance means more pop-in when moving, which would destabilise performance as objects are being loaded and unloaded more often. third one being distractions, the more frequent pop-in can distract you as you are always looking for small movements in your environment in a game like fortnite.
This is why I personally prefer to use maximum texture quality and view distance on performance mode. The game looks Better and barely comes with any performance differences.
Capping your fps is also not needed if you constantly maintain a higher framerate than your monitor can output, differences in frame times are barely noticeable, and with nvidia reflex, the render queue doesn't exist, so keeping it uncapped will give you a better average latency.

    • @thekvant7743

My go to is always mantaining my latency the same in every game, since I own a laptop with gsync I usually run vsync also on and cap my fps depending on the game. These guides are sometimes full of myths and I also noticed that it depends a lot on your PC, for example blurbusters would recommend to use vsync from the nvcp but in my case I found only using fastsync from the nvcp in osu and vsync from the nvcm in geometry dash, on fortnite I use the in-game vsync. I think people focussing solely on fps can sometimes be damaging because a lot of the times it comes from the era where csgo would ran at like 5000 fps while modern games won't and now we know that latency is more important than higher fps

Performance mode uses more of your CPU than your GPU (you probably have a weak CPU if you're getting frame drops and stutters with a RTX 3060 Ti). In case you're wondering, I have an Intel Core i7-11700K paired with my RTX 3070. Yea honestly optimizations and tweaking don’t really have a huge impact. The only 1 setting that does boost fps that I’ve seen with my own eyes is XMP/DOCP. Other than that everything else doesn’t really boost fps. I even played Fortnite without installing gpu drivers and honestly it performed the same even after I downloaded the drivers. ( did this for fun, I always download drivers and keep pc up to date)
I guess people like to do as much tweaking and stuff to at least have a stable fps such as 144fps on low end builds.
I remember that a couple UA-camrs did optimization videos and included an fps boost pack downloadable link. Unfortunately it was a scam just to take control of peoples PCs and ransomeware attack etc.

If youre being cpu bottlenecked then turning off hardware accel will put additional load on your cpu and its not a great idea but if youre being gpu bottlenecked then you should turn it off because you cant afford additional gpu load. 5:57 i know he wasnt talking about that but while higher polling rate might seem like a great idea its not always the case. If you have a bad cpu then drop the polling rate down to 500 at least, helps a lot, but again, only on bad cpus.

Finally these people who know absolutely nothing get exposed. If you guys actually want performance then consider getting a tweaker to do it for you. Especially ones that work with pros. Most UA-cam or other guides can help but can also harm you depending on your hardware. So blindly following a tutorial without knowing what youre doing is not recommended. A tweaker will know this stuff and optimise your system depending on your circumstances.

also for the record nvidia control panel doesnt work after applying it without restarting the game first. if you change the settings while the game is already loaded then you have to restart the game for the settings to take affect. also if you didnt have prefer maximum performance then your gpu would be running not at its highest clock which in turn could negatively affect your fps. thats why its recommended to select the "prefer maximum performance" option in the nvidia control panel.

It is better to optimize the operating system in a safe, efficient way that does not remove anything from what you use, not to sacrifice everything but the gadgets that you are never going to use.
Also optimize your game to what you prefer, more fps less quality, medium fps medium quality, high quality low or normal fps, etc.
but moving minimal or compromising things from the operating system that together make almost no change or none will make your PC difficult and strange to use by changing so many internal things, which are mostly just influencers' preferences, and it also assumes that we have the same PCs (with an Nvidia, with a Logitech mouse, with enough power to support power unlocks) is supposed to be an optimization because our PCs lag and because our fps is low, not because we want to add a few fps at 300 or more fps than we already have...
