I cannot begin to count how many times I've done Twilight Princess's Hyrule Castle run from start to finish throughout my life. In my childhood, I used to do it for fun, all the time, so much so that more than a decade later it's all still engrained in my memory. Now, I just do it on my annual Twilight Princess playthrough, but everytime I look forward to doing it as much as I did the first time. I love Twilight Princess. Fight me.
I wanted to love Twilight Princess so bad, the art style of definitely the best, but the game is just too damn easy. @@JD-mz1rl yeah no for sure, I think that's why I enjoyed it so much as a kid, it wasn't hard. I didn't have to master intricate button combos or anything, and the puzzles weren't terribly challenging, I could just have fun without trying super hard.
Sort of spoilers for Skyward Sword; The Sky Keep is basically the weapon you use to defeat the final boss. So, that’s already the most badass dungeon in the series.
I am a sucker for Twilight Princess so my vote goes for their Hyrule Castle. Gigantic castle, you use everything you've collected. Epic battles with Ferrus and the Boboking king... Just great
I hear you, but I like breath of the wild's castle better. The music, the atmosphere, the strongest enemies scattered everywhere, all of the time spent building up to that moment was just so great. The fact that you can explore the castle also made it even better. I love Breath of the Wild
You should. It doesn't innovate like Majoras Mask or Breath of the Wild, but TP is The legend of Zelda at its finest (also wolf link so it does innovate)
@@jorgehuertas3995 Well I finished BOTW 2 weeks ago, and finished Ocarina for the first time 3 days ago. My plan is to play Majoras for the first time next, then either Windwaker HD or TP HD, in either order :D (all for the first time)
Twilight Princess was the second Zelda game I ever played, but I don't really like it as much as the other 3d zeldas except skyward sword. I don't know why, but twilight princess was very forgettable for me, even after my three playthroughs.
Twilight princess is weak compared to botw(botw is one of the best games of all time just FYI) hell Wind waker is a much better game then twilight princess for goodness sake. Evan the new remake of links awakening Switch stomps all over tp. This list is a joke
I forgot how good Twilight Princess' final dungeon is. I never hear it mentioned (then again, it does have to stand up to the likes of the Arbiter's Grounds and the Snowpeak Ruins)
@@lucaspiano76 To this day, I'm still puzzled as to why people seem to care so little about Twilight Princess. Sure, its atmosphere is very different from all the other Zelda games so far, but that's not a bad thing. I honestly feel that the gaming community, at some point, decided that they hated the Wii and anything that had to do with motion control, for no clear reason, and Twilight Princess is one victim of that senseless hatred.
@@Arkalidor I started TP when I was like 11 or something and remember it took me 3-4 years to finish because I kept quitting due the dark aesthetic. Kind of look back on that and laugh, actually, because now I finally have taken a shot at certain RPGs and same issue. What was I getting at? Really, while TP is a good game it is, at least in my opinion, even darker then MM if less effed up.
Yeah Twilight Princess Hyrule castle is the best in that game in my opinion. If I had to rank the Twilight Princess dungeons: 1. Hyrule Castle 2. City In The Sky 3. Arbiters Grounds 4.Snowpeak Ruins 5. Temple Of Time 6. Lakebed Temple The others are pretty much even (Forest Temple, Goron Mines, Palace Of Twilight)....but even then....they sort of all are....
I definitely think that I can agree with TP's Hyrule Castle being the best final area. It's easily the most memorable of the dungeons, and has such a tense atmosphere that I think fits the game to a T.
With some exceptions for claw-shot targeting, it feels like it could be a real place too. That's what I like about the overall design in all the dungeons in TP. They feel like decayed places that used to house actual populations.
Twilight Princess is my favorite Zelda game, looking past the super slow and tedious tutorial in the beginning! Lol. Love the fact that it’s #1 on the list! That dungeon has stuck with me for years, just like Majora and Ocarina. Great video
Does anyone else remember running up the staircase in Ganons Tower in OOT and getting to the room with the two iron gauntlets and thinking oh fuck lmao those things were easily the hardest thing to beat in the whole game.
If I had to choose, I’d definitely say that Breath of the Wild’s Hyrule Castle is my favorite, the music, the ability to take any path, the fact that technically you could go kill Ganon after the Great Plateau, finding the Hylian shield, having to find a memory in there, and the sky changing when you get close to Ganon really make it great
But it had not that many puzzles and not locking the final boss is a bad idea since its ruining progression. Aside from that it was pretty good, just not the quality I expect from a Zelda dungeon.
@@minight1711 You're assuming that the divine beasts can be classified as dungeons. I don't classify them as such. I feel like they should be in their own category like shrines.
@Dampf The progression system is getting better at the game. That's one thing about the Zelda formula I'm glad they changed, instead of putting progress behind collecting arbitrary items. Breath of the Wild's Hyrule castle is looking to rank as my favorite final dungeon as well. Every time I go in there I want to explore every corner of it and challenge every enemy I come across, even though nothing is making me. Some people just like being forced along a path more.
#20: Temple of the Ocean King (Phantom Hourglass) #19: Room of Rites (Oracle of Ages/Seasons (Linked)) #18: Vaati's Palace (Four Swords) #17: Wind Fish's Egg (Link's Awakening) #16: Onox's Castle (Oracle of Seasons) #15: The Black Tower (Oracle of Ages) #14: Sky Temple (Triforce Heroes) #13: Tower of Spirits (Spirit Tracks) #12: Palace of Winds (Four Swords Adventure) #11: The Moon (Majora's Mask) #10: Great Palace (Zelda II: Adventure of Link) #9: Level 9 - Death Mountain (The Legend of Zelda) #8: Ganon's Tower (Wind Waker) #7: Lorule Castle (A Link Between Worlds) #6: Ganon's Tower (A Link to the Past) #5: Dark Hyrule Castle (Minish Cap) #4: Sky Keep (Skyward Sword) #3: Ganon's Castle (Ocarina of Time) #2: Hyrule Castle (Breath of the Wild) #1: Hyrule Castle (Twilight Princess)
The Sky Keep from SS still remains my favorite final dungeon of the series. I just love how each room is its own challenge while getting around is a massive challenge itself. Glad to see it getting some recognition.
It says something when I only remember roughly half of the final dungeons of all Zelda I've played. Some of it is to be expected when you haven't visited a game for years, but it also points to how Zelda's final dungeons... don't tend to be all that great. Or rather they're good, but out-shined by the rest of the game. That's where Twilight Princess stands out. Because despite only playing it once or twice, this dungeon left an impression that's stayed with me years since. It sounds great, it looks great and the melancholy atmosphere that's been building up through the game reaches its crescendo. And while the resistance was... pathetic, really... it added a sense of scale and urgency. You're not alone, people - regular, mortal people - are trying to help you. And King Bulbin was such a nice addition.
And to add to this... the Ganondorf fight in Twilight Princess was sublime, assuming you didn't cheat with the Fishing Rod. A LOT of actual swordplay going on, and Zelda actually playing a crucial role in the battle. Well, okay, Ocarina of Time had her throwing your sword back to you IIRC, but in TP, she was actually helping you in the fight (shooting arrows IIRC? It's been awhile). It was truly a pleasure all the way around. I like how you even used the "Catch the charging goat" mechanic on one of Ganon's forms. One of THE first things you learn how to do in the game, they have you doing during the final boss fight and that's just golden.
Damn this video didn't feel like 40 minutes, You guys did a real good job with the commentary and pacing, Kept me engaged without making me feel bored for 40 minutes, That's quite crazy if you ask me, Also vary fair opinions here. Majora's Mask is my favorite Zelda game but it's completely fair to say its final dungeon wasn't the best the series has had but was a notably great ending, I also didn't really love BOTW compared to most Zelda games but its hard to deny how amazing that final dungeon is, For me its a little too great of a highlight to the whole game, The time you guys put into this video is time well spent, Great list :)
Personally, I think BOTW's final dungeon could have been so much better if Ganon's room was locked and you had to actually explore to find the boss key. In fact, I think that would be a great approach to the series dungeon design from now on.
@Dana White's double chin Hey, I started playing oot with no past experience the other day and I gotta say it. It is very much a nostalgia pick. while it is very fun, and I don't care much for visuals in general, it is sooo janky. z targeting is crappy, the cam controls are non-existent, and there are far to many actions bound to half the buttons, and aiming with the slingshot is a bit of a nightmare.
Are you taking about the game or the castle? In terms of game,Breath of the wild is the most replay able one more me,but that's because I had so much to do after beating Ganon, and doing a second Playthrough was great too
Uh, no. It's a super long and completely linear game, with tons of dumb tutorials and slow gimmicks. It's not open-world level of unreplayable, but it's not great.
Dang not gonna lie. I thought you guys were crazy for putting BOTW's castle second. But your explanation for having Twilight Princess' Castle as #1 was flawless. Completely changed my mind. The build up of that dungeon was fantastic
It's true. There really isn't a build up in Botw's Hyrule Castle. Since you can go straight for Ganon, the Castle has the same intensity all throughout only with subtle changes to the sky and music depending on where you are.
Sir, you just lied. The first word in this Video was spoken in 00:06 so thats six seconds in. Its impossible to hear the voice in the first three seconds and that leads to that it is impossible to know that they speak a norwish accent. jk lol xD
Spoilers for list: Ok...? Ok.... I was expecting to see Ganon’s Tower from OOT to be the top of this list because I know how much you love OOT. So seeing Hyrule Castle from Twilight Princess at number 1 made me ecstatic. Owners, you guys already know TP is my favorite game of all time, so I’m so happy you see it as the best final dungeon in the Zelda franchise. The list itself was really well done and I’m glad you guys took the time to do it. I liked how you took an objective look at all the dungeons had to offer. Build up, puzzles, enemy variety, atmosphere, tension, and overall memorability. You explained why you put a certain dungeon at a spot and why it wasn’t higher or lower unlike other people would. That shows me that you really care about putting 110% into your content. Thanks for the trip down nostalgia lane. 😁
Diamond_Adam Agreed. I...honestly don’t get most of the hype for OoT (at least from a gameplay, story, and overworld perspective. The outdated camera makes me motionsick, and it’s still glitchy in 3DS/the gyroscope just doesn’t work well for aiming) And Link’s Awakening and the Oracle Games hold a soft spot for me lol. But, yeah...even I can admit that they didn’t have that great of final levels (well, I’ll argue the Black Tower being higher up. Maybe.), and OoT Ganon’s Tower did a lot right (okay, mostly because of the sages returning. Otherwise it’s leveled out as a tie for other final levels). But BotW’s final level and TP in general finally getting some love? OoT for once NOT being someone’s top pick simply because it’s OoT? Yea please! 😁
Twilight princess is my favorite game of all time too! I'm glad too know that I'm not the only person who botw didn't dethrone it for. Seriously even the 3 people I knew who liked tp wasn't even that number 1 zelda game exept 1 who botw dethroned it for.
I didn't agree at first with the choice of Twilight Princess' Hyrule Castle over Breath of the Wild's, but once you described the dungeon... Wow. I kinda wish I had TP now...
@@Kirboyo_418 Why do people dislike TP so much? What did it do wrong? Whenever I see gamers on internet discussing the various Zelda games, the Wii Zelda games are shunned, Skyward Sword being remembered as a disappointment, and Twilight Princess just not being remembered at all. I just don't get it, personally, at a time when people were shitting on the Wii for having lesser hardware capability than its Sony and Microsoft rivals, this game was to me the perfect example of how hardware is overrated and can be compensated by sheer art.
@@Arkalidor I think it's unfair too honestly. I wouldn't call TP the best Zelda game at all but it's far above decent, it's really good even. It does have a few big downsides (for example, most boss battles were just way too simple wich is a shame because they all look sick) but despite thosse downsides it did a lot of things good and even nailed a few aspects. I think it's not as much talked about because it's artstyle isn't as memorable and not a lot of people are as outspoken about their nostalgia for it compared to other Zelda games (ahem ahem OOT) It's mostly in a weird place between a lot of "more memorable" Zelda games.
Twilight princess is severly under appreciated and overlooked. Was second all time to mw after OOT. This game was a masterpiece. And even more so since the game itself was ever even supposed to be made. And they made it in a short amount of time compared to the others. That game was amazing.
BOTW’s, TP’s and SS’s final dungeons were so pleasing when playing. The creativity and dungeonesque feeling while playing them felt like a humongous pay off.
It’s a really fun dungeon. It may have been frustratingly challenging at times, but I loved the concept. I just wish the miniboss wasn’t the same one that we’d already had.
Truly amazing how you guys can make so many videos and not get bored, although, you are never gonna change my mind, twilight princess is the best game ever made
@@lihaotang704 im 12 but even though im so young I grew up with twilight princess playing it every day until I finished it and the cycle just repeted its self
Great video!! Zelda is such an eclectic series that always seems to do something new. It’s cool to hear new thoughts on dungeons and elements I previously overlooked.
I really enjoy your guys' work. You deserve way more credit for making such quality content about such a good series, and I hope you get more recognition for it this year!
LOVE that TP gets the title! I don’t think BotW’s “dungeon” should even be considered since you can just skip it and there is zero build up or tension to, not to mention you just find the same boring enemies in it...but there again, BotW shouldn’t even be considered a Zelda game... OoT and SS’s final dungeons are also amazing
I found you guys again! It's been so long but I finally found your channel again! :D Ah...silence in a Zelda game is incredibly unsettling to me. That just puts me on edge, because I just get the feeling that something will jump out at me from out of nowhere.
Owniiies !! I really appreciate all the hard work u've done in order to make this amazing list !! I know it took a loot of time to finish it. Anyway I agree with ur ranking, we kinda have the same list, hyrule castle from TP is my favorite as well. Good job guys
To be honest - You couldn't be more right. Hyrule Castle (Twilight Princess) was the BEST final Dungeon ever put in into a Zelda game. Everything culminates in there. The Battle, the enemies, all 3 parts of the Dungeon - It felt like a Mega Dungeon, compared to the other dungeons in TP. I love it :D If you wouldn't have taken Hyrule Castle (TP) as Number one - I would've subscribed AND unsubscribed JUST to make you feel bad for this wrong choise XD
You forgot to meantion that Skyward Sword had a ton of build up ( the descent to Girahim/facing off against him) You considered the build ups for the other games. So i'm not sure why that was left out.
A lot of hype for the next video since the desert areas are usually my favourites in Zelda games. I hope you'll choose one of the 2 themes from Skyward Sword (Lanayru Desert and Sand Sea) because I think they perfectly fit the desert's mysterious atmosphere
@@SuperNintendawg I don't like the mining facility this much. Actually, I prefer the dungeons of the the 2nd part of the game. And Naboris was definitely my favourite Divine Beast in BOTW, along with the desert area in general. But still, the Divine Beasts weren't that great for me. I hope they find a way to keep these new ideas of moving structures in the next game, but with artistic identity for the dungeons and a better progression inside them. In BOTW, they just felt like big Shrines.
I noticed all castles use different builduing styles, like the one in TP is buildin the gotic style, Towers around the main builduin take over the preasure power of the tower so it does not get carryed away to sides or fall over because of it fundament.
My top 5 5: The Moon (MM) Just, basically a gauntlet of fun stuff to do. Don’t have much to say 4: Tower of Spirits (ST) Basically the temple of the time limits but good 3: Sky Keep (SS) Nice summary of the entire game, and uses all of your items well 2: Hyrule Castle (BotW) This place is HUGE! I like how you can experience as much or as little as you want, just like the rest of the game. It’s also my favorite place in the game 1: Lorule Castle (LBW) What can I say? It makes use of all your skills, I loved the whole “defeat 4 mini-bosses to open the main door” mechanic, and not to mention the kick ass theme it’s got! And my 2 least favorite (the only 2 I don’t like) Ganon’s Tower (LttP) Just... REALLY don’t like it. It’s way too confusing and hard to be enjoyable for me. It’s not badly made, just a big difficulty spike compared to turtle rock and the ice palace Temple of the Time Limits (PH) Basically what you said. Just... pretty garbage
I don't get the love for Hyrule Castle, it always felt like a chore to me more than anything. TP had fantastic dungeons but Hyrule Castle definitely ain't one of em.
Ehh, not necessarily. I personally would rather play a fun game with trash story than a boring game with a unique story. TP builds up the battle much better for sure, but I had more fun exploring BotW’s castle.
It's all really subjective. I personally tend more toward giving into a game’s design and layout than being put in a sandbox was my main point. To each their own, but funnily enough, I have your exact argument to say about TP over BotW; I found it dry and stretched out and the least fun I’ve had in any 3D Zelda. I’m not at all trying to start a debate- -I understand I’m in the minority on this one lol.
'M'ake Something No, I understand. My little brother finds Minecraft boring because nothing in the game tells him what to do, which is why I love Minecraft. But he also loves BotW, but he mostly follows main quests. But it’s good for players to have variety.
@@makesomething4093 I completely agree, Zelda games always have a really good pacing most of the time and to me makes the linear experience a non-hindrance to my enjoyment, Masterful Linear design was something I missed playing BOTW, Hopefully the next entry does a good job retaining what makes a Zelda game so special while still being open world, Even if you personally feel the game is amazing (Which seems to be the majority) its hard to deny how far it strays away from feeling like a Zelda game
While I disagree with many choices (Ocarina is number one, for me), I love your list. It shows it was made by people that really love and understand Zelda. As someone that fundamentally disagreed with almost all of your list, I gotta say you guys are awesome. Keep the good work.

Twilight Princess had the best dungeons and the best bosses. Great game. After watching many streams about BotW, they hardly ventured into Hyrule Castle, which you have pointed is probably the best thing in the whole game. I dont like the game, I will give this part of the game a try. Im still excited for BotW two tho. I would also like to point out OoT Ganon's castle. When you defeat Ganondorf, and have to run ALLL THE WAY DOWN BEFORE IT EXPLODES!!! I did not remember Sky Keep. What a great concept. They really innovated with that game. I love Skyward Sword. I believe it is time to try Minish Cap. fellas. Great video. I love the length. I love the point outs. Love you guys
I absolutely agree with #1. though if I were to make my own list, The Moon would be #2. Twilight Princess's Hyrule Castle is such a perfect mix of hard ass enemies, foreboding and threatening atmosphere, and interesting puzzles. By far my favorite final dungeon in the series.
The BOTW 'dungeon' I spent most of my time running to a mountain and flying down and spent maybe 3 minutes tops evading one sentry and climbing up the side of the mountain and stumbling immediately into the boss room. I was hyped up for some crazy zone yet I was able to so easily skip all of it and didn't realize I did it until the final boss cutscene triggered.
@@HyruleJen But most of the stuff in BotW has some purpose or good rewards, while Hyrule Castle does only have minor rewards, that don't fit a Final Dungeon
Idk why this is such an underrated channel. It’s funny, cool, impressive, and just fun to watch. All u watching sub and like to this channel. Pls show these guys some love
At least out of the ones I've played, you guys had some great rankings. Zelda 2's final dungeon should be much higher, but I agree the difficulty and confusion do hamper it. Just like most everything else about the game, Wind Waker gets some unnecessary praise as without its theme and killing Phantom Ganon (ripped from OoT), Ganon's Castle is pretty remarkably lame. Sky Keep is honestly such a cool dungeon with an incredibly powerful and ominous music track behind it. The fact that you actually collect the Triforce I think is a severely underrated aspect of it that would put it at either 2 or 3, depending on your view of OoT's. Speaking of OoT, while Ganon's Castle does a great job at setting the contrasting outside atmosphere (especially when, like in BotW you can actually approach it early on when you first become an adult and feel its power) and bringing everything in your adult journey together in the first half, to me what makes it actually so good is Ganon's theme as you ascend the tower, growing louder and more ominous as you pass the stained-glass staircase and enter the main chamber to see him actually playing it himself. Of course though I guessed what the #1 would be, and I agree entirely. Quiet, tensious, just the right feeling that things are out of place, becoming increasingly more dire until you stare into the fiery twilight sky before taking on the most epic series of boss fights in Zelda history. God I love TP, I can't wait until someone develops a randomizer program for it so I can play it over and over like I've been doing with OoT, LttP, WW, and now even MM.
I’m kinda going trough Some rough times. Because I now really broke up with my boyfriend. Like forever. And it’s just hard and all. Had A bad day because of that today But This really helped calm down and feel happier a bit. So Thank you 😊
The Owners, When you will return to youtube? I miss you, You were the best, and I want you talking about the Tears of the Kingdom, and what is your opinion about that game :)
I really liked the idea of you guys explained in a very objective way why were those spots given. I agree with the top two, but in my case I just couldn't decide. In terms of dungeon, BOTW, in terms of epic final boss, TP.
Talk about worth the wait. I agree with 90% of this list but I think OOT and BOTW should swap as, even though it was awesome to search all the little nooks of the castle, I accidentally finished the temple in like 10 minutes when I first played. I didn’t see the doors when I first got there and just saw a waterfall so I used the water-Ice tool to get up. I then just climbed to the top and it wasn’t really a challenge. I know the reason why it’s so high I just feel that atmosphere is better when paired with a dungeon that is hard (hard as in you can’t skip 99% of it glitchless) . EDIT: It's a year later and nobody is gonna see this BUT in quarantine I've had time for once and replayed BOTW and it is so much better than I remember. I agree with placement on this list, it was SO much fun fully searching for everything and getting the Hylian shield. IDEK why I came back to write this it's for some reason been on my conscience.
QuantumStorm Games I see what you mean but it’s the fact that they don’t put anything to stop you from going straight to the end point. I always love doing glitches (Miyamoto is quaking I know) so personally if you give me an easy and swift way to do something I’m going to take it. I don’t think games so open as BOTW are my kind of games as I prefer games which have a certain path to follow with little nooks and crannies to explore instead of giving you a blank page full of things on and saying ‘get from one side to the other with either a straight line, missing the objects, or a curvy line, hitting the objects’. Sorry I went on a ramble just wanted to explain my point more
I enjoy the choice between the direct, interior, and back routes. You can get different experiences just from what direction you approach the dungeon from. There is a straight path through the front door that leads all the way to the top that I didn't even realize was there until watching speedruns.
I have to disagree with the BOTW on some level. I agree mostly, and I had an insane amount of fun exploring it. But my biggest problem with it is that it is almost entirely optional. You’re not building towards anything except just walking in. You don’t have to break a barrier or anything. There’s almost no tension for me. There’s also a lack of puzzles. I don’t think the puzzles in BOTW were well developed and having them reinforced in some way here would have been amazing to see.
I very much agree, but if you think about it, MM truly had the Stone Tower as its final temple. It was epic. When you consider that, I believe Stone Tower Temple makes top 3 to 5.
My ranking: 20. Vaati's Palace (Four Swords) 19. Room of Rites (Oracle of Ages/Seasons) 18. Palace of Winds (Four Swords Adventures) 17. Sky Temple (Triforce Heroes) 16. Onox's Castle (Oracle of Seasons) 15. Death Mountain (The Legend of Zelda) 14. Temple of the Ocean King (Phantom Hourglass) 13. Wind Fish's Egg (Link's Awakening) 12. The Black Tower (Oracle of Ages) 11. Tower of Spirits (Spirit Tracks) 10. Great Temple (Adventure of Link) 9. Ganon's Tower (A Link Between Worlds) 8. Lorule Castle (A Link Between Worlds) 7. Sky Keep (Skyward Sword) 6. Dark Hyrule Castle (Minish Cap) 5. Ganon's Tower (The Wind Waker) 4. The Moon (Majora's Mask) 3. Ganon's Castle (Ocarina of Time) 2. Hyrule Castle (Twilight Princess) 1. Hyrule Castle (Breath of the Wild) Nice list guys, you've earned a subscriber in me! By the way, out of curiosity, based on your accents, are you guys Norwegian or Swedish? I'm Norwegian myself, but our english accents are so similar to the Swedish ones it's hard to tell the difference.
I actually liked the last visit to the Temple of the Ocean King, just because you get to kill all of the Phantoms that you had to avoid and run away from during the entire game. You feel more powerful than before, being able to kill these “invincible” enemies, and prepared to face whatever beast Bellum is.
The final two being ones that highlighted Hyrule Castle as an actual home/palace in their own ways yet still kept their atmosphere? That made me really happy. (My biggest complaint about the LoZ Levels is that despite being called things such as “Temples” and “Palaces” etc they...just don’t feel like actual desecrated (or intact, just very, very well defended with, say, traps) places of worship or places someone ever actually lives. Don’t get me wrong: labyrinths and pits are fun. But, they don’t even fit as “dungeons” (where are the cells? Anti escape measures? Etc) or “fortresses/keeps”. So seeing ones that actually fit the bill makes me happy-FINALLY some worldbuilding!) Although...knowing Helga? She intentionally destroyed and replaced what once was with traps and monsters as one final “test” (and of course tire Link out to steal his Triforce piece. Kinda brilliant, actually. She’s probably hands down my favorite antagonist.)
It’s been a while! I pretty much feel the same way about everything on this list, but the only one that a truly disagree with is Breath of the Wild’s Hyrule Castle. I absolutely loved it, and it felt like an amazing conclusion to my favorite game ever made, but once I got to the final boss...my opinion changed. I thought that both forms of Calamity Gabon were such an underwhelming experience. It kinda ruined the dungeon for me. Hyrule Castle in Twilight Princess was fantastic though, and I can still remember it blowing my mind as a kid.

"BOTW was number 2? How?"
"Oh right, TP exists."
Thought the same.
Twilight Princess was the second Zelda game I ever played, but I don't really like it as much as the other 3d zeldas except skyward sword. I don't know why, but twilight princess was very forgettable for me, even after my three playthroughs.
@Flying Spaghetti Monster an opinion can't be wrong
@Flying Spaghetti Monster nope
KC Clark I think twilight princes had my favorite dungeons in general
The city in the sky is great too
Yeah Twilight Princess Hyrule castle is the best in that game in my opinion. If I had to rank the Twilight Princess dungeons:
1. Hyrule Castle
2. City In The Sky
3. Arbiters Grounds
4.Snowpeak Ruins
5. Temple Of Time
6. Lakebed Temple
The others are pretty much even (Forest Temple, Goron Mines, Palace Of Twilight)....but even then....they sort of all are....
Great video

I SUPER APPROVED THIS. TP DA BOMB. My favorite of whole Zelda series
Does anyone else remember running up the staircase in Ganons Tower in OOT and getting to the room with the two iron gauntlets and thinking oh fuck lmao those things were easily the hardest thing to beat in the whole game.
Cameron Hawes soooo trueeeee
Iron knuckles are easy
If I had to choose, I’d definitely say that Breath of the Wild’s Hyrule Castle is my favorite, the music, the ability to take any path, the fact that technically you could go kill Ganon after the Great Plateau, finding the Hylian shield, having to find a memory in there, and the sky changing when you get close to Ganon really make it great
But it had not that many puzzles and not locking the final boss is a bad idea since its ruining progression. Aside from that it was pretty good, just not the quality I expect from a Zelda dungeon.
Judging from how puzzle oriented divine beasts are, I m glad hyrule castle isnt puzzle oriented at all
@@minight1711 You're assuming that the divine beasts can be classified as dungeons.

Ahhh Sky Keep is just BETTER than Ganon's Tower!!
The Sky Keep from SS still remains my favorite final dungeon of the series. I just love how each room is its own challenge while getting around is a massive challenge itself. Glad to see it getting some recognition.
Agreed. It's been hard for me to explain it, but Twilight Princess's final dungeon just felt so right.
That's the magic of pacing for you
Personally, I think BOTW's final dungeon could have been so much better if Ganon's room was locked and you had to actually explore to find the boss key. In fact, I think that would be a great approach to the series dungeon design from now on.
Twilight Princess undeniably has the highest replay value.
@Dana White's double chin yeah. that's true. it's still a good game though, and maybe I'll change my mind once I get used to the controls
I would have to say OoT and SS, but I get your point
Are you taking about the game or the castle? In terms of game,Breath of the wild is the most replay able one more me,but that's because I had so much to do after beating Ganon, and doing a second Playthrough was great too
Uh, no. It's a super long and completely linear game, with tons of dumb tutorials and slow gimmicks. It's not open-world level of unreplayable, but it's not great.
I hope they return once new zelda games are unleashed upon the world
One thing that wasn't mentioned in #1 was that, not only you can visit it earlier, you also go there at the beginning of the game
Same with Minish Cap

Dang not gonna lie. I thought you guys were crazy for putting BOTW's castle second. But your explanation for having Twilight Princess' Castle as #1 was flawless. Completely changed my mind. The build up of that dungeon was fantastic
It's true. There really isn't a build up in Botw's Hyrule Castle. Since you can go straight for Ganon, the Castle has the same intensity all throughout only with subtle changes to the sky and music depending on where you are.

Ok...?
Diamond_Adam
Agreed. I...honestly don’t get most of the hype for OoT (at least from a gameplay, story, and overworld perspective. The outdated camera makes me motionsick, and it’s still glitchy in 3DS/the gyroscope just doesn’t work well for aiming)
And Link’s Awakening and the Oracle Games hold a soft spot for me lol.
Man I completely agree, at first couldnt imagine how it could have beaten the likes of BotW's castle.
But man, I forgot how fun I found TP's.
I think it's not as much talked about because it's artstyle isn't as memorable and not a lot of people are as outspoken about their nostalgia for it compared to other Zelda games (ahem ahem OOT)
It's mostly in a weird place between a lot of "more memorable" Zelda games.
@@Kirboyo_418 Also, nobody was quite as dissapointed with the TP final boss the way they were with the now-infamously anticlimactic Dank Beast Gannon.
@@snurt256 True, true.
I absolutely 100% agree with this list! Love that BOTW Hyrule Castle was #2 & TP was #1. It’s exactly how I felt about the two in comparison
Always nice to see a dungeon ranking. Great job guys!
Sky Keep will probably still be my favorite for a very long time.

I love it :D

You forgot to meantion that Skyward Sword had a ton of build up ( the descent to Girahim/facing off against him) You considered the build ups for the other games. So i'm not sure why that was left out.
Because that wasnt part of Sky Keep. Sky Keep was different in that even though it was the final dungeon, it didnt house the final boss.
A lot of hype for the next video since the desert areas are usually my favourites in Zelda games. I hope you'll choose one of the 2 themes from Skyward Sword (Lanayru Desert and Sand Sea) because I think they perfectly fit the desert's mysterious atmosphere
the mining facility is great. I also love the desert in BotW.
@@skadi2911 agreed, I think the emphasis on a questline in the gerudo desert in BoTW made the pacing way better

Fantastic video! Thank you for putting this together.
My only problem with Hyrule castle in twilight princess was that it confused the hell out of me. I needed to google the puzzles so many times
I noticed all castles use different builduing styles, like the one in TP is buildin the gotic style, Towers around the main builduin take over the preasure power of the tower so it does not get carryed away to sides or fall over because of it fundament.
My top 5
5: The Moon (MM) Just, basically a gauntlet of fun stuff to do. Don’t have much to say
4: Tower of Spirits (ST) Basically the temple of the time limits but good
3: Sky Keep (SS) Nice summary of the entire game, and uses all of your items well
2: Hyrule Castle (BotW) This place is HUGE! I like how you can experience as much or as little as you want, just like the rest of the game. It’s also my favorite place in the game
1: Lorule Castle (LBW) What can I say? It makes use of all your skills, I loved the whole “defeat 4 mini-bosses to open the main door” mechanic, and not to mention the kick ass theme it’s got!
And my 2 least favorite (the only 2 I don’t like)
Ganon’s Tower (LttP) Just... REALLY don’t like it. It’s way too confusing and hard to be enjoyable for me. It’s not badly made, just a big difficulty spike compared to turtle rock and the ice palace
Temple of the Time Limits (PH) Basically what you said. Just... pretty garbage
Please make a Final boss-Ranking in Zelda!😊
I don't get the love for Hyrule Castle, it always felt like a chore to me more than anything. TP had fantastic dungeons but Hyrule Castle definitely ain't one of em.
Why are you guys so underrated ? Your content is top notch
Agreed on #1 for sure. Masterful pacing matters more to me than freedom of exploration.
'M'ake Something
No, I understand.
'M'ake Something You may be the minority, but I agree. TP is perfection and I can fathom how BotW is remotely fun.

I would have said oot for number one then twilight second but I respect your decisions because they make sense.

Agreed. Twilight Princess is an amazing game. Especially the final few hours. The last castle and the epic Ganon fight was awesome.
Awesome list and essentially correct (I haven’t played BOW yet but it looks fantastic ). TP is the best final dungeon easily
Great job guys, I really enjoyed this video.
That’s your own fault. The entire point of the game is exploration, and if you don’t explore that’s on you for just going to the end.

There is a straight path through the front door that leads all the way to the top that I didn't even realize was there until watching speedruns.
i love Gannon's Castle oot takes elements from all the dungeons and mini dungeons puts them in one dungeon so cool
I WANT A NEW ZELDAAAAA, IF NECESSARY I WOULD BECOME HOMELESS FOR IT
I have to disagree with the BOTW on some level.
Max Minton Agreed.
Twilight princess was so good i loved every second of it. it was my childhood.
TP is my best zelda game ever
Yes! Zelda II shout out
Good stuff guys! Keep it up.
I very much agree, but if you think about it, MM truly had the Stone Tower as its final temple. It was epic. When you consider that, I believe Stone Tower Temple makes top 3 to 5.

Nice list guys, you've earned a subscriber in me! By the way, out of curiosity, based on your accents, are you guys Norwegian or Swedish? I'm Norwegian myself, but our english accents are so similar to the Swedish ones it's hard to tell the difference.
Well done on hitting 14K!
I actually liked the last visit to the Temple of the Ocean King, just because you get to kill all of the Phantoms that you had to avoid and run away from during the entire game. You feel more powerful than before, being able to kill these “invincible” enemies, and prepared to face whatever beast Bellum is.
nice video! i realy like the ranking video's on this channel good job
So seeing ones that actually fit the bill makes me happy-FINALLY some worldbuilding!)
Although...knowing Helga? She intentionally destroyed and replaced what once was with traps and monsters as one final “test” (and of course tire Link out to steal his Triforce piece. Kinda brilliant, actually. She’s probably hands down my favorite antagonist.)
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was a great game.
It’s been a while!
I pretty much feel the same way about everything on this list, but the only one that a truly disagree with is Breath of the Wild’s Hyrule Castle. I absolutely loved it, and it felt like an amazing conclusion to my favorite game ever made, but once I got to the final
boss...my opinion changed. I thought that both forms of Calamity Gabon were such an underwhelming experience. It kinda ruined the dungeon for me. Hyrule Castle in Twilight Princess was fantastic though, and I can still remember it blowing my mind as a kid.
