We had the opportunity to spend the day with cardist, Anna DeGuzman. We shot this in one day on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, California. Anna is an amazing cardist and you may have seen her on Rob Dyrdek's show Awesomeness. The cards shes using are Cherry playing cards by Pure Imagination Projects. We'll be giving a few decks away so be sure to watch until the end of the video for info. We shot this video with a Sony A7S ii and the A6500. All the slow motion was shot on a Phantom high speed at 1000-1500fps.

Kuma Are you plannig on staying in LA or moving back to Taiwan?
We are currently living in Utah. Probably plan on staying in the states for now but making longer trips back out to Taiwan and Asia once a year or something like that.
Shame you are not staying in Taiwan (espcially when you could of choosen my british nation instead lol) but of course it's your choice at least you arn't abanding your native blood altogether as Taiwan seems pretty darn nice for a country =) and thanks for replying for the 3rd/4th time

Cardistry seems pretty scary because stuff like penspinning and belgeri, you only drop 1 or 2 things while in cardistry you drop 52
Not necessarily. You could always get trainers for packet tricks.

Just have it 24/7.
Carry it around everywhere, fidget in bed, on the couch, on the toilet... make the object part of you.
You can do it with anything! Knives, pens, cards, rubiks cube... Just find something you like and never let it go.
My thing is knives, I like pocket knives and butterfly knives and people freak out over knife tricks, but to me it isn't dangerous. I spend almost as much time with a knife in my hand as other people do their phones, or being awake. Besides, you can always tape the edge to make it safe.
It isn't hard.
You just have to actually do it.
I only watched because of the cute girl, but i came here for kumas fine editing and showcasing of peoples cool tricks.

Guy, what's the name of the moves/fourish/display she does at 2mins 51 seconds? I know they've been around a few years now, but I've somehow missed the actual name of these displays. I think they're incredibly creative, but I've never seen an actual name for this sub-genre of flourishing. Thanks for any answers! BTW, wonderful & artistic and original Cardistry moves she has!
So my dad doesn't understand cardistry. He thought cardistry is a way of tricks for shuffling as a GAMBLER. I showed him this.... Still doesn't wanna buy me cards, so i bought cherry casino, the green ones
Most Cardistry demos I see are performed by twenty something nerds with obnoxious background music and shot by their friends who have absolutely no idea of what Composition and Editing is and so they go crazy and zoom in and out and move the camera for no reason and it's incredibly annoying. Their moves are basically slight variations of stuff that's already out there and their comments sections are from universally fawning praising fanboys.
This is different. Whoever shot and edited and produced this actually knows what they were doing!
Anna DeGuzman's moves are quite clever! She's one of the few people I've seen who actually makes a virtue of simplicity and originality. Her skills and that of the person who shot and edited this are commendable. Obviously a lot of work went into this on BOTH sides of the camera. Thumbs up from NY!
