Once again, thank you so much Mr. Max Webster archive man. Been it about 1500 miles away from this performance, but if I could’ve been there I would in a heartbeat! Keep them archived unheard Max Webster coming. I love it so much, as always the KY. Max Webster FAN !! B🎶RAD K.
They were playing it in the bars in 1973 ! It's one of the first songs they ever wrote, and the last one they recorded. Pretty unreal, the history these tapes are revealing.
This is incredible. I've never heard a Max recording made this early on before. I saw them in various bars back in 1974 and 1975. But you're in the moment and pretty inebriated from a few too many wobbly pops and smokables. The quality is amazing. Than you.
It is such a DRAG that bands with this much talent have to pay their dues like all in Showbusiness Max was is and will always be the best to come out of our fucked up country known as Canada ZOONEY of Arkadia
+Very cool! To hear these songs that ended up being album classics in their infancy is a real treat. Everyone certainly honed their playing (and singing) by the time they recorded the albums.
Thank you so much for these absolute gems of Max Webster's career! They hooked me with the "High Class..." album and my first live show was up real close at a little Lions Club hall in Angus On, but also saw them at the other extreme, venue-wise, at CNE Stadium in 1978 opening for Brand X and Genesis. But these tapes are an awesome and amazing look back. For instance, I had no idea that Max Webster had played CNE Stadium before the Genesis show but thanks to these recordings I now know different. Love it!
Same. It's definitely more raw. Their creative vision is less solidified, so they branch off into all kinds of directions here. It's neat to hear the process working itself out.

The joy is all mine !
Max playing Frank... not surprised. Very cool.
Thank you !!!!! So many unearthed amazing memories and a lot of reasons why I can’t remember 😊 ❤❤❤
This is absolutely BRILLIANT!!!
I had no idea Battlescar was this old. I never saw them play it and I first saw them in early 76.

There's stuff even earlier than this. The 1973 tapes will be posted soon enough - when they were largely still a cover band.
Wow battlescar 1974!
This is classic gold! Thanks for sharing
Thank you very much, description is great too. Never knew.
Great website too, bookmarked it, amazing stories there

Without a doubt, they're the best band Canada has ever produced that didn't see international success. Maybe the Rheostatics are a close second.
how cool to hear Battlescar!
Yeah ! It's one of the first songs they wrote.
Amazing!
Thanks for posting these
So cool they covered some Zappa....

They've got over 300 gigs under their belt by this point. They're already tight and figuring out who they are. I love hearing this process at play.
@@MaxWebsterArchive It really is a treat!

There is so much history to this great band. Glad you're digging it all.
Holy crap. This is awesome
Amazing.Max is one of my all time fav bands ever!
Never realized this before, but the first tune reminds me of Zappa, and all great!
Check the description - it IS by Zappa !
Peaches en Regalia. They're doing the Fillmore 1971 version, not the one off Hot Rats.
@@MaxWebsterArchive Insert big duhhh here. Didn’t read the info till now, thanks.
Max Webster playing Peaches En Regalia!?!? My eyebrows have gone up so high they fell off the back!
FREEK'N BRILLIANT!!!!
from the platform minds to Master John’s mines. “In a silver dodge Quayle hunting.”
DAMN I wish I was there! It would be really nice to give us the time markers for each song.
Done.
It takes a bit of time, but it's definitely worth it !
@@MaxWebsterArchive WOW! Nice! DANKA!
More 1974 Max? Thank you please!!!
Who's tapes were these where did all this footage come from Tilka, Kersey, Jon ?
Cool upload, thanks! I might like it better than the Gasworks one.

Phish pwns Peaches as a cover staple, but it's interesting to hear Webby's take on it
Gee, battlescar is really cool...and Zappa interpretation is also pretty damn good
"I shit boogie!"
