I was just there last week! I drove through last Sunday just before the storm hit. I brought the cold with me from Colorado so my lil daughter wouldn’t get out of the car to hike or take pictures. But I can’t wait to see ur video! My daughter was like, mom, how many pictures of cactus 🌵 can you take😅
Really encouraged to hear that! Love it in the desert - the smells, food, sounds and sunsets. Can't beat walking among the Saguaros. Glad to know your 2024 is off to a great start!
Happy New Year brother! I always love to see your content. Hope you have a great year exploring God's creation in America's parks. Don't know for sure where I will visit this year. My brother and I are thinking about going on Landmark Events Philadelphia trip this April. And my sister is getting married this year! (The first of us three to get married). As for which of America's parks I will see next, Great Basin NP and Valley of Fire SP are high on my list.
Arizona is a really interesting state! Being able to see the desert landscape is always fun being from the east coast. The corners of the house didn't seem too far apart - looks like a smaller space for that many people!
@@AmericasParks Yes sir! We bought our first house in the spring, so spending a bunch of time (and money) fixing that up. It's going to look great when done however, so very excited about that!
Awesome video as usual! We visited a few years ago. I had an idea that proved to be cool. We bought some UV flashlights on Amazon before the trip to Arizona. Scorpions glow under UV light. At night, we went only a few yards into the desert and immediately began finding scorpions. No need to turn over rocks since they seem to come out at night. Even got some cool video footage of them glowing in the UV light. When we returned to our car I was surprised to find several scorpions along the curb directly on the assault.
*I live here in Tucson and just found your channel. I love how you are thorough, straight to the point, and keep it simple. Nice shots and composition. Sending love to you and everyone you love. 🌵🥰*
great time in the park, got to love the Forest of giant cactus! not much of a home left but still pretty cool to find the remnants... great tour thanks for taking us with you! /we just made our summer plans, back to grand canyon, monument valley, and natural bridges
So encouraged to hear of your summer plans! Always thankful for another year with the ability to still travel to these incredible places. Enjoy my friend!
I liked Saguaro East better than West! I went a bit further on the Tanque Verde Ridge Trail, and the trail gets more and more rugged. Great overview of the park and thanks for bringing me back!
Thanks for these highlight of the East side. We always go to the West side (another day coming up in February). We’ll head east one of these days 😊Take care always!
Guess where I’m at as I’m watching this video? Lying in a tent with my son in Gilbert Rey Campground about five minutes from the western part of the park. Gonna try to hit Wasson Peak tomorrow.
@@stevedietrich8936took King Canyon and thinking there’s probably a better way up. Very rocky and we accidentally went off trail for quite a ways in a dry wash out. Pretty easy to do as we saw a lot of footprints on the same fake trail. But we made it to the top, it was great.
@@peterkanipe9281 King Canyon is a rough trail. Hugh Norris is a good trail to take, although the beginning is steep. There is also another trail that joins the Norris a little further along called Sendero Esperanza. I have taken the Hugh Norris and King Canyon, but not Sweetwater (from the east side of the mts.) or Sendero Esperanza.
Nice overview of the east side of Saguaro. Looked like a great visit. I haven’t made it to Saguaro yet. We do have hopeful plans to get to Arizona in October but the focus will likely be Sedona and then maybe up to Page/Kanab area. If and when I do get to Saguaro, I think you may have saved me the walk to that homestead.
Damn! I wish you posted this 2 weeks ago. I was in Tucson to go where it was warm (unfortunately, it was 20 degrees colder than normal while I was there) but I didn’t know what to do or where to go. Luckily, I found an article stating to do that Scenic Drive if nothing else. I wish I works have done that on the days that it was sunny out bcuz the sun kept things warm with coats on. The hikes would have been great. Thanks for sharing!! I want to go back!
Nice! On the way to Texas in 2015, my buddy Tim and I drove the east side loop towing a boat! High on my list of parks to get back to someday and see more. I think I prefer the west side more. Nice to see you get this one out! Would love it if you find the time to check out my latest stuff. My last 4 clips are missing your input. Are you planning on attending the conference out west this year?
Thanks, Robert! Yeah, need to visit your channel. Been completely away from any travel videos on YT. Hope to head out with the guys in a few weeks again... however, not sure if I'll be going to the conference this year. Take care!
@@AmericasParks so where are you guys heading? Hopefully out southwest. Too cold back east! We have Sedona on radar for early spring, Yellowstone and other stops in summer and New Mexico in October all Lord willing of course. I'm always looking to add a place I can visit while working as well. I'll be on a new fleet the 2nd half of the year so that could open up new possibilities as well. Wherever you guys are headed... safe travels.
For the weather, check a "monthly average" for the area and look for a range that you are most comfortable. Not personally sure about the cactus blooms - best to check with the park service on that one.
I'd love to visit there! The cacti are amazing!
Glad to see another video by you! It's been awhile. Best wishes for you and your family in 2024!
Appreciate the kind words, my friend! Hope to get some more uploads out over the next few months.

My favorite park- there is something about the cacti, warmth, dry air. Great place to hike!
Will always cherish our first trip there in 2012 and then again in 2017!
Thanks for the sunny desert hike on this freezing day!
Yes! Never thought of that on this frigid weekend! :)
Love this. Saguaro is on our list to visit in the not too distant future! Looks amazing! 🌵 Thanks for sharing, Randy!
Great to heart that... such a unique location in our amazing country.
Well, this was timely

This Nationalpark looks great. Walking there must be very nice. so silent and peacefull.
Great Park! Beautiful view on the trail.
Thanks for the comment! Can use some of the southern weather up here this time of the year!
I bet! Esp with the polar cold that swept through!!

Hey brother, may the Lord bless your 2024! Great line-up... Try to hit the top of Wheeler Peak of able! Remote NP, but so beautiful and peaceful.

What a fun activity. We tried that at Dry Tortugas and didn't really come up with much. Enjoy your weekend!

Thank you for the great feedback and kind heart! Loved our time in the Tucson area!
Great and informative video regarding condensation and what to do about this RV issue we all encounter. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Glad to hear you found the video useful!

Thanks for the tour! Maybe they should update the brochure " 4 Stones where a home used to be" lol
Right on! Definitely a little over-hyped by the park service. Hope you guys are having a blessed 2024!
I was hiking the Bridal Wreath trail today as you posted this. So trippy! Love your videos

Sorry, my friend! :) Been sitting on this unedited footage for a while. Glad to hear you got a break from cold CO. The desert is absolutely amazing!
Went back in September.
Love those cacti. But I don't go below I40.

When is the best time to go? That is not too hot and I would like to see the most cactus blooms.

Do you have a video of the petrified n.p?
Digging deep into the archives for this one!

What was the date the video was taken?

Is perfect to visit there for people who suffer allergies because there no pollen nothing but pure air and oxygen 😮
