Shoutout to the book "steal like an artist"!! To go total nerd mode for a second, the Romanticism movement introduced the idea of artists as original geniuses, which I think is super disempowering to beginners, vs older beliefs of "just try and improve what has already been made". And there's the "everything is a remix" video series - I think seeing creation as remixing is way more empowering than "oh god I have to be a total original, that's so daunting" (which is how I felt for ages!!)
