Great review. The Hiby R6Pro Max seems be overshadowed by the iBasso DX340 and there aren't any impressions or reviews so you're probably first! Looking forward to your DX340 and N6iii reviews. I love my N6iii with the Cirrus Logic motherboard
Thanks for the review, but I have a question, If money is of no concern , and listening only on IEMs and not headphones, which one has better sound quality in terms of transparency, soundstage size, holography, engagement, and realism, the ibasso DX340 or the Hiby R6 pro max? thanks🙂
I will cover on that subject in my DX340 review. But I think I have hinted enough in the comparison section of this video for you to guess what will be the verdict
I am considering buying this as a replacement for my old R6 2020. I will wait for a full comparison between DX340 and N6iii (with both MBs if you have them), though. DX260 is not an option, as I have one from a friend which came faulty from the start, also it sounds a bit too bright to me, on my Monarch MKIII and XENNS UP, compared to the old R6
Posted this comment on your previous upload but I wanted to ask your opinion on how this compares to the iBasso DX180 in terms of audio performance? I've had my DX180 for few months now and can't say I'm in any way unsatisfied with it though if I did want to upgrade and shoot for something a little bit nicer I would most likely go for this. Is this dap worth the extra few hundred compared to the DX180? Top quality review as always nice one Andy 💯🤜🤛
DX180 is already an exceedingly very well tuned DAP and from that point onwards you are dealing with the rule of diminishing returns. Just like many other hobbies when you start to scale the upper tier, you look to squeeze marginal differences to suit your needs. As such as noted in my DX260 review, there are subtle improvements DX260 offers going from DX180, like the depth of imaging and resolution that will be evident on high resolution sources, but for the most part doing stuffs from Tidal or any online music streamed services, they sounded very similarly matched for the most part. And the same can be said here for differences between DX180 and some of the DAPs you see here in this video, you get the idea
Only you can answer this question, do you play anything beyond DSD256? do you push for higher than 300 Ohm? once you understand your needs and what features are important to you, then you will get the answers. If doing Tidal or any online stuffs, both of them are already beyond suitable for those purposes on equal footing
Hi Andy! Which dongle dac has the best bass texture, precision and extension? I don't like blurry and sloppy sounding bass. It has to be clean, must extend really deep and there shouldn't be any boosting.
Practically all the newly released dongles from 2023 onwards will satisfy you needs. You are looking at either ONIX Alpha Xi or iBasso DC07Pro or FiiO KA17
Hi Andy strange question as you are techy and I am not here goes. Could you use XVIVE XV1-R AS A MUSIC PLAYER? I know you love your Sony recorder as a music player? Frank
I wish I can help but I have no experience at all with XV1-R, I only have used PCM D100 as a DAP and it is smashingly amazing to rival so many dedicated DAPs
Put the Hiby R6 Pro Max in your back pocket and you've got a BBL _Edit_ : be careful with DSD Native ( _I buy some Jazz and Classical in DSD 256/512_ ) and it ain't all pure in DSD native signal most of the releases are processed from old analog Master tape recordings.
Re-Upload of the same video due to technical issues. Apologize for the inconveniences. Thanks
oh, it's ok Andy ...but I don't remember what my comment was on the initial upload 😂

Solid review. It's one of my best dap at this price range to date.
Thanks 🙏
Thanks for honest review.

Many thanks Andy best regards Frank
My pleasure

When I saw the rear panel, I didn't expect it lay flat on surface.
CS43198 Quad Dac in the new R6 III 2025, or CS43131 Quad Dac in the IBasso DX180 ? Thats the question Andy ? 🤔😎
I have no idea, haven't tried R6iii 2025 yet
@AndyAudioVault thanks
Haha thanks again for the re-upload 🎉 so bro, this or dx260?

@AndyAudioVault This Hiby vs Kann Max = which has better sound ??
I don't know. Haven't tried Kann Max yet

Hi Andy, IBasso DX180 or HIBY R6III 2025 improved ?
I haven't tried R6iii yet so I have no idea on that one
Is the DC elite comparable soundwise to any of these daps?
Close enough
Nice review. Top resolution sound? Isnt the dac on the mojo 2 using fpga a better alternative?
I have Mojo and Mojo2, these DAPs are clearly more than a match for those Mojos
@AndyAudioVault thats good news.
how does sound compared to the Onyx DAP?
No idea. Haven't tried any ONIX DAPs
If I want to buy dap in Malaysia where should I buy ?
Red Ape Store
Go to Red Ape Audio or Stars Picker Audio Library
How does this compare to Moondrop MIAD01?
MIAD01 is good, but these specialized DAPs are more refined with resolution and overall SQ
With these prices will the Ibasso D16 and your old DAP be the best cost/performance option?
I have no idea, never tried D16 yet
Kindly compare its sound quality with a flagship dongle please.
Purely in terms of sound quality.
The topmost dongles comes close, something like DC07Pro or DC-Elite or L&P W4 closely trail behind the likes of DX260 or R6Pro Max
The hiby screen color... Lil bit dull? Or just my eyes...
I did mentioned that in this video, slightly subdued compared to the brighter displays of other DAPs
Its crazy how smaller battery dx260 with even bigger power output can still run 1 hour longer. Wtf😅
Supa Supa review!!!!! hahhaaaaa
🙏
That’s interesting but for that size and weight makes more sense to buy a good DAC
Put the Hiby R6 Pro Max in your back pocket and you've got a BBL

The one I have are all SACD remasters, I am very picky about the sources and DSD 1024 are mostly upsampling from Tascam or SACD
@@AndyAudioVault
Interesting.
I had a look at Native DSD Catalogue and JRiver Media support Forum Q/A.
The prices for DSD1024 are eyes watering 😳🤨
