Have you been able to test the new Redshift on M3 Max? I am really curious to see how it holds up against 4080 or 4090 but I can't find a benchmark anywhere. Btw thanks for the video.
so I’m more used to using mac and I would like to stick with mac but I wanted to ask if using windows a lot better for the long term? I do have a pc with a 3080 which I can start to learn with but I’m just faster when using my macbook because I just know the ui and the commands. but just from your perspective and the industry are people mostly using windows for cinema and visual design.
IMHO the biggest advantage of PCs is NVIDIA and how powerful those GPUs are compared to what Apple is offering right now (may change soon), I use windows although I ve been using Macs since 1998. You can use Mac and use PC as a render mule which I think is best of both worlds, avoiding the bugs and crashes of PC but using its raw power.

I agree with minimal fun. Mac computers just can't compete, especially when you factor in price. They can work if you plan using a renderfarm, but that's about it. PC's can also be upgraded.
You shouldn’t expect much from these monthly releases. New features usually come with the yearly release and occasionally with the .5 releases. That being said, I’ve been underwhelmed with those ever since pyro came out.
You can adjust the resolution of the Substance material in the Substance node....you're working with 1k textures in this video.

I have not. I have an m1 mac, and it works fine for smaller projects and maybe stills, but I wouldn't render animations on it.
