That poor pilot in the first crash just broke my heart. And the man trying to get the damned door open is a real hero, but I believe he feels like he let her down. He didn't...I can't even begin to imagine the guilt he must have felt. But he tried his best and that's what counts!
I think in retrospect he might wish he had told her to jump out the window. Because he knew there was no help coming in time. She was probably unaware he was alone in his efforts. At least if she jumped she had a chance to survive. Pilots have survived jumping great distances from windows of huge jets, even onto tarmac. Traumatized people don't always think logically. She needed to be ordered to jump. But it's too late now. He was likely not able to think logically in the distressing situation either. At least he tried. If I'd been in that plane I'd want the guy to know it was heroic that he had the courage to walk up to a burning plane. For all he knew it could explode at any moment. He has nothing to feel ashamed or guilty about.
For you, the 12 lives could have been saved even if the door would have not opened because, if they'd listen to the safety instructions, thy would know that there is a exit above the wing. Also they noted that the first officer's body was found near these exits. So that means that he was going (In the last seconds of his life) to the exits to open them, if he had a few more minutes, the 12 lives would have been saved. - all of this is from Air Crash Investigation (Mayday) @@DBEdwards
Honestly, as great these documentaries are, it's depressing just how many people had to lose their lives in these real tragedies. Rest in peace to all of those who lost their lives.
The UPS air bubble in the cockpit idea is the kind of forward-thinking and ingenuity we need, but sadly it comes after something so tragic. You don't think about those things... "well what if the cockpit fills with smoke so bad the pilot can't see anything?".

@@hinagikugamesnstuff2452 yeah but if ur in a plane crash very rare chance you’ll survive while in a car crash you have to get hit quite hard to actually cause serious damage to your body.

My Dad was going to work at Cincinnati Gas and Electric one morning when a TWA flight crashed on approach to the airport killing something like 70 of 85 passengers. This was in the late 1960s. He saw the fire but was unable to get to the area to help because it was across the river.( Cincinnati airport is actually in Kentucky) This was the second crash in 4 years by planes attempting to land on the same runway.
asiana 214 actually crashed because during landing, the captain turned off a system that keeps the speed fast, but he thought it was too fast, so the speed kept on dropping, until it reached 116 knots, far too slow.
I love Asiana, I just remember getting super involved when the carrier faulted ATC/SFO protocol only to discover that it was pilot error. Asiana will be spun off and absorbed by Korea Airlines, not because of that incident specifically but for a cash-strapped parent company it didnt help. Yh the captain and first officer leave last. They will try and get all the passenger off the plane first then they will get off plane. If the captain trapped in the cockpit they can open the window of the plane and use a rope to get down but it’s pretty dangerous and need a lot of concentration
theres been a few cases where the captain and first officer attempted escaping through the window, but really struggled to break through the glass with the provided fire axe, the would also then need to use a rope to climb down and out of the plane, which is quite difficult. Even if she could have made it, she as a pilot is trained to evacuate the rest of the plane and preform an evacuation checklist before exiting the plane, so I doubt she was thinking about herself, but rather the passengers.

Very well said, Pyxie. Mr. Walker is probably going to feel guilty all his life, that's just human nature, but in my mind he's an absolute hero. Bravery doesn't always achieve the best results but that doesn't negate the man's heroism. He risked his life to attempt a rescue that must have been absolutely harrowing. On October 31, 1996, TAM Airlines Flight 402 crashed into a suburb in São Paulo, killing all 95 people on board and 4 on the ground. The cause of the crash was due to a failure with the Fokker 100's thrust reverser on its right engine.
Those bounces make me wince every time (and my partner look at me when I react to them) The irony is my very first flight had a bouncy landing and it gave me the giggles. I just think you were needed there...
Please don't keep the negative thoughts and have a good life!!
I'd like to think I would do the same but everybody's a hero in their own mind. You tried, Mr Walker, and that makes you a champ in my book. Godspeed.
Watching this even tho I’m going on a plane tomorrow 😅
For some reason these videos and investigations interest me
1:57 Paul walker is in this one?!?! Lol
why at 25:01 there's a lightsaber ignition sound
I vaguely remember flying home after a wedding and seeing Asiana’s wreckage lying on the ground, this was days after it happened by the way
My father was pilot by Saudi pilot on the middle the engine 2 just begin firing but goodness the plane fall on water no one died or injured
Garuda Indonesia 200 looked like FedEx flight 80 but less bounces
This is a good video
Not enough ads.....they need more.

😲Hope you arrived safely
😊
Don't do that to yourself
He really be living life on the edge 😅
I just found this series.... Marty hooked... One question now and that's probably because I over Analyze everything.... Do you all notice before the pilots even take off on the runway they are sweating profusely lol (no disrespect to anyone injured or anyone who lost their lives) and I love the fly But after watching the series I'm questioning that lol
Late reply but these in Air Crash are actors flying in a simulator. They surely use make up and it must be hot in these simulator cabins too :)
Those are just actors.
The Cockpit Windows of United Express seem big enough that a passenger can fit trough it, why didnt they escape via the windows? 737's have These emergency Cockpit windows and even a escape rope.
I wondered that too. The window the pilot was shouting through was obviously too small or they'd all have climbed through.
1:57 Bruh, I didnt know Paul Walker was a flight instructor. 😂
When you’re trying to escape the heat on spanair 5022 it gives more heat
Lithium batteries have their own fire that's stronger than usual and way strong for the fire resistant cover
The cargo on that plane had 81k lithium batteries on it!
did the king air try to do that one scene from the movie "2:22"
Why October 31st always crash every year
i live in san francisco we mostly forgot about asiana 214 except the fake names of the pilots aired by KVTU oakland during the crash
PAUL WALKER IS A FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR?!?!
FR THATS WHAT IM SAYING!!
Engine number two on tam flight had energy all over place the stopper on jet engine automatically pops up and the plane turns while the crash
Maybe the fire warped or partially melted the cable? 🤔
17:21 why does the 747 not have right engines? did they get blown off?
Yes, both of them were lost mid-flight which was the direct cause of that accident.
Rip everyone 😢 🙏🏻
On the plane crash.. well maybe use flaps?
The subtitles are all over the place.
What The Hell?! 2:09
Tams reward is right out of the window after that
Plane window must be detactable.
Sven Hammarberg could pass as Doug Feith's younger brother.
wow...i love your voice
On October 31, 1996, TAM Airlines Flight 402 crashed into a suburb in São Paulo, killing all 95 people on board and 4 on the ground. The cause of the crash was due to a failure with the Fokker 100's thrust reverser on its right engine.
Those bounces make me wince every time (and my partner look at me when I react to them) The irony is my very first flight had a bouncy landing and it gave me the giggles.
The Lithium Battery thing was interesting to discover as the ruling on them occurred in the seven years I wasn't working in an electronics job. I noticed the new labels and discovered why they were now a standard when I got back into the industry. Huh, A modern take on the Biblical burning bush story.
The fact that the teenagers died on Asiana flight 14 is kinda sad
🙏🏻 Sent to Heaven
They are so brave
48:04 I think the flaps was caused to stop the plane from climbing
Cuz.forgot to put flaps!
as flaps help your plane climb
First scene...nobody thought to jump out of those open windows??
Too small.
The plane in the river bank kinda landed then oofed lol
