Got to say Jess, that was a really good interview. You got Toto to really open up. He is quite an open individual, but it felt like you were not trying to 'catch him out', but an informed interview. Really excellent journalism.
I normally do not leave comments, but this is by far the best interview done with an F1 leader. The interviewer did the homework, was respectful and genuine while being pointy with the questions. Hats off! We need her in F1 as lead journalist! And Wolff said it himself, clearly enjoying when there's homework behind and competence! A delight! We should launch a petition to bring her in F1. The only one that comes close is Brundle, Steiner nowadays 😄 and Will Buxton. Frankly I had enough of the "banalities" from other journalists in the pen or press conferences "How do you reflect on..?" Type of questions, who also just go with whatever the "drama" of the paddock questions, as opposed to staying true to motor racing questions!
What a great interviewer. One of, if not the best interviews I have seen in formula 1. Insightful, respectful intelligent questions that showed a good understanding of current issues in the context of historical achievements. This is how you get good answers and content. First rate.
Great interview. Jess is a natural. Super friendly and disarming in a way. Im sure it's frustrating for Toto but she got him to open up and smile a little. Hopefully Mercedes can turn it around. The W15 seems to be their most finicky car yet
very interesting to see him be so open, this was a very respectfull interview from the reporter's side aswell. And at the end it was a bit of a love note to Max from Toto I feel to keep the possibility alive
Nice to see him being interviewed by a new face to race fans. He looked relaxed with her and seemed pretty thorough with his answers. Plus a bonus she let the person being interviewed have the time to respond.
Hands down the best interview i've seen with Toto for ................ well i can't remember how long. Who is this girl? Exceptional work Jess. When an interviewee says "Wow, you really know a lot about us", You can sit there and know that you are in that top 1% of journo's who go the extra mile to do their job properly. Entertaining and hugely informative. Sky Sports.........that's how you interview Toto Wolf!!!
Who would have thought that asking pertinent questions, letting the interviewee give their answer - without been sneaky or constantly interrupting, would produce such a great interview? Such a pleasure to watch. Other interviewers please take note!!
Toto is relaxed because I think after all this time he’s at peace. It is Red Bulls era. Lewis is switching. The pressure to hold the number 1 spot is of course the goal but unrealistic to do forever. It’s Mercs time to rebuild. Him being very humble and open about where the team is at shows this in my eyes.
Toto is honestly the best. I have a lot of respect for this man. Hopefully him and Lewis can unite under the same banner one last time before Lewis retires from the sport.
I watched this interview live. Plaudits to Jess! Toto was engaging and revealing because of your thorough preparation, the timely questions you asked, the respect you showed, and your passion for the sport. That then brings out the background knowledge you possess. Jess would be far better than any of the sky sports female so called journalists, Natalie Pinkham or Rachel Brooks.... Don't get me started on Naomi Schiff!!!!
Indeed. Rachel Brooks' latest question to Perez after the Aus GP was downright disgusting. This lady is something else. I've also seen the Leclerc interview with Jess..... so awesome.
Wow, finally an interviewer who dares to ask the important questions! I have the F1 app and subscription for a few years now, but the interviewers on F1TV never ask the difficult questions it's sometimes embarassing! This lady whowever did a great job!
It will certainly be good for LH. Yesterday he retired from the race in a lowly position. Whilst the car he will be driving next year, won the race. Another good and timely move. This team has lost all the genius minds that built the success in 2014 and have not replaced them with great quality for me.
Charles will beat LH 😂 Charles is imbedded in Ferrari, knows the car… LH willhave a difficult time at Ferrari… all strict protocols he isn’t used to, no strategy as Carlos is leaving, communicationwill be an issue. It will be fun to watch
Well, assuming the car doesn’t design and engineer itself, your 90% for the car has to be divided up to reflect the inputs of a whole lot of people. Shoot, even the tea and biscuits lady or guy gets a cut of that 90%. So 10% for the driver is not an insignificant share.
The fact verstappen is winning now, almost every race, and he wasn't doing so before his dominant car. The fact Lewis has won 6 titles with mercedes when they had a dominant car and hasn't one a race since their car has been 2nd or 3rd fastest points to the fact the car is 90% and the driver is 10% when you have the dominant car. Perez, bottas, barrichelos of the world are chosen because they aren't as fast as the number 1 driver@@chaosclg
Interviewer drops her ego and allows toto to speak asking to the point short clear and concise questions and does so with a smile and without trying to trip him up with a trick question, clearly fantastic at her job.
Toto has been speaking highly of Max since the beginning. Even before. Of course there were some 'moments', but if anyone recognizes talent... And I am not even a fan of Toto ('s character).
9:02 funny and interesting: he's effectively saying if Max wants to come, there's a seat for him at Mercedes. Sounds like Max's manager will have a field day negotiating his contract.
You've wasted 3 years of Lewis' career after he was robbed, you let him down in every single way. That's why he left your ass for Ferrari, which was the best move he's made in a decade.
😎 in my opinion- a Lewis Hamilton’s car is slower than his teammates , also Perez has a slower car than his teammates, they are leaving, it’s so obvious.
WHY on earth nobody’s ever talking about Frederik Vesti as a replacement for Lewis at Mercedes , but instead everyone is talking about Antonelli . Like , seriously, Fred almost won the F2 championship last year , won many races , he is a hard working Mercedes development driver , loyal to the brand itself. What else could he do to even get into conversation for that seat?
It’s not enough to just be a good F2 driver. You need to be near generation talent levels to be worth a top seat. Look at DeVris, Vandoorne, Zhou, Sargeant, etc.. Why would Mercedes waste time on a ‘good’ driver when they can wait for a ‘great’ driver
@@zackberry6729 ok , so what’s the point of supporting a driver through all formula series , up until the nearest margin of the f2 crown , when you are going to wait for someone “great” . It doesn’t make any sense, especially in the case of Fredrik Vesti

This is one of the very best interviews with Toto. The journalist deserves plaudits for her execption work.
She's great. I've watched a few interviews she has done this week. She's very personable and friendly like a lot of Australians.
And incredibly knowledgeable! Toto is an old fox but she managed to surprise him few times
I agree...every question had substance and Toto is great on Netflix and these interviews. Very authentic.

Great interview! Toto being very open and honest too.
Just wow. Awesome interview. Fresh, quick, informative… great job!
Props to Toto for answering with a lot of transparency
Respectful and knowledgeable. That's a great journalist here. One of the best interviews with Toto I have ever watched.

Maybe there was a reason the cockpit sat where it sat for long before this rule set.
