I'm from Poland and I haven't watched such a good channel for a long time. Thank you for the professional transmission of free programs. it will be very useful for work.
@The good Fellow You're probably right, I should rework the title. I did intentionally leave Scribus out to include it in an upcoming video on Desktop Publishing software.
@The good Fellow Hi good Fellow.. Instead of the negative comments and lack of appreciation for FREE content, which by the way I think is exceptionally well presented, how about you produce a better video and upload it to UA-cam - FREE.
@@TJFREE I also really appreciate the tone you have (friendly and joyful) and the clearness and conciseness. I just discovered your channel but will subscribe to it and will look your other videos! Thanks for a great work
FOSS is the way to go. No blob, privacy scares, data mining, none of those cringing concerns... Albeit making the switch can be difficult. I've known of Inkscape, Calibre and LibreOffice but I am in the GNU/Linux space but for Storyboarder and Trelby?? These are golden revelations! I never knew of the FOSS variant of a scripting SW, 'grazie mille!' The Storyboarder application will come in useful someday in my film-making journey!
I've recently been kicking around an idea for a story, and these resources will be invaluable to me. Aside from Inkscape (which I'm plugging along with thanks to your tutorials), I had no idea these others existed. Thank you for always keeping us in the loop of "free"-dom. 😁🖤
@@SparxGamingYT Thanks for asking! It takes place in Victorian London and is about a necromancer who raises the dead to solve the Whitechapel Murders. It's a unique twist on "Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde." 😁
I really appreciate the whole way you went about this. Time stamps to topics, links to products & tools. STayed focused and short. Bravo. YOu have another subscriber.
"TJ", Thank you so much! I am a fan of free! But, this is not only free, it is software that can put to good use. You are a great teacher; thorough in your explanations and illustrations. Amazing! I am a novice and happy to finally experience something that works well for me, hence the multiple exclamation points. Thanks again...
thank uuuuu so much , I've been watching a ton of youtube vedios and this one was all what i needed , keep up the good work cannot wait to see this channel grow
Great video, I would love if you could make a series of video tutorials about an open source software for writers called Manuskript, it's in early development but it's simply awesome, it's inspired on Scrivener and has many great features. I'd love to see it becoming more popular cause I think many writers will love it too. God bless open source :) Cheers!
I use Trelby, which is great, but I'm not an artist so a lot of the other programmes weren't that applicable to me. Could you do a video on story planning tools? From story boarding, to plot planning, apps to keep you motivated to a word count... stuff like that. Great video anyway, I'm sure it's useful to a lot of people :)
Thanks, that's good to know. That's a great idea for a video. I'm not really an author, and should probably partner with someone to help make that one.
Hi, I love stuff related to writing and about a year ago I came across this awesome open source software, it's inspired on Scrivener and it's called Manuskript, it is in early development but it's already great to use with many features, check that out if it fits your needs. Cheers!
It's kind of obvious, but a "tool" I use constantly is Google drive/docs, so I can work on my ideas at any point. If I have an idea on the bus I can pull out my phone and add to the document I made the day before on my laptop, for example
What I have just seen has encourage me to reach out further into online publishing. Well done. Martin Joy, now republishing the Mirror of Thieves under new name John Long.
What if I am writing book for example about Wordpress, it's free platform for websites. I want to write how to use it, settings etc. Do I need rights to write it?
Which one would you(I mean anyone who happen to read this comment) recommend if I were planning to write an illustrated tutorial book and not sure whether into a paper book or an ebook?
Thanks a lot just what I need . Software for Formatting for books & scriptwriter, art etc thanks . I will have to check out your channel. I’m not the most tech savvy
I really enjoyed your video but was wondering do you know any software out there that would allow me to actually write as if I'm using a virtual chalkboard? I am a number of students on Zoom and I teach Hebrew. And I need a software that would allow me to show students on Zoom how to form letters and write basic sentences in Hebrew. Now so far I'm using Paint and my mouse but because I don't have a grip on my mouse like I would with a pen the letters come out looking funny and it is even harder to write sentences. Any suggestions for a software that would allow me to form letters and sentences as if I would be using a chalkboard in a class? Also, would that software allow me to collaborate with students so they can show me how they write and I can see it so if I give them a quiz I can see how they are writing and correct them on the spot if they make a mistake?
use microsoft white board and share your screen of board on zoom and you can write a letter through the blind tab of wacom or any other brand . Hope this is helpful.

Leaving a comment for the algorithm. Can't wait to finish my house so I can start following along.

If you are doing non-vector illustrations, Krita is one to consider.
