  • Sri Lanka is a country that has been rocked by a bloody Civil War raging the island state until 2009. Deep scars were left by the conflict. In 2019, a series of devastating suicide attacks occurred on Easter Sunday-two on Catholic churches, one on a Protestant church-leaving 250 dead and over 500 injured. In July, 2022, the Presidential Palace in Colombo was stormed by hundreds of protesters who saw the government as being responsible for the devasting economic crisis that the country is suffering. Jonas Soto interviews Bishop Jayakody Aratchige Anton, Auxiliary Bishop from the Archdiocese of Colombo.
