Elder Christofferson's talk about his father teaching discipline in work reminds me of a story I heard while visiting a ward in Las Vegas.
A man who grew up in Germany spoke about how his mother insisted he clean every corner in their stairs with a toothbrush.
He said he was sure his mother hated him.
As an adult it was the patience and attention to detail he had developed that made him successful in his occupation and that he will be forever grateful to his mother.

Que discurso difícil de explanar em pouco tempo. Eu lembro que eu tive dificuldades de estudar e ajudar minha pobre família quando meus pais se separaram. Daí quando voltei de missão não conseguia emprego por não ter terminado os estudos mas queria estudar e precisava escolher e me sacrifiquei para estudar sem trabalho algum, era horrível, então eu escolhi um trabalho de babá de três lindas crianças filhos de um médico e uma engenheira, ganhava pouco dinheiro mas era perto do Templo de São Paulo. Eu conseguia escapar e ir até lá enquanto eles estavam na escola e trabalhos. Eu conseguia sentir alegria nestas simples coisas e ter algum dinheiro. Penso que o trabalho que o Pai quer de seus filhos é para lapidar mais a alma infinita do que seria esculpir uma fôrma externa permanente e inquebrantável

Why do our church leaders seek wisdom from men, universities, scientists, pharmaceutical reps? Priesthood includes the gift of revelation. We should do things and make decisions not as the world does.
We need to do the work ourselves, learn all we can then ask the Lord to reveal His mind. We cannot just sit idly and expect to be spoon fed by God.
For the same reason why I felt the spirit about marrying a young woman in the church. Her mother for some irrational reasons hated me she ended up married 6 months later too a man the mother had control over. When I took my ex wife to the temple the spirit said she wasn't my ex fiance. The spirit led me to my sweet wife after our divorce. My wife is catholic. My mother in law who has passed away. Loved me more than members of the church I felt the spirit in growing up. The gospel is true the church not so much.
@@a.ngiraked134and you just proved they are not led by the spirit. They have all that access to original sources and yet they are making decisions I can clearly see aren't right.
