    Tenways CGO800s is a gentle and classy lightweight commuter ebike tipping the scale at just 46lbs. It tops out at 20mph making it legal everywhere class 1 ebikes are allowed. The upright riding position of this belt drive ebike makes it comfy to ride, but also a bit challenging to squeeze the power out of the torque sensor pedal assist system. If you're looking for an ebike with gentle assistance up to 20 mph without the burden of worrying about gear changes and chain maintenance this Tenways ebike is certainly an option that's easy on the eyes and rides smooth as butter.

    From the comments, it seems like nobody here has ridden an actual bicycle. These bikes aren't supposed to be mopeds, they're supposed to amplify your biking power - without a bunch of weight, sloppy tires, and giant batteries. Some people want to feel like they're still riding a bike, just get there faster.

    After doing extensive research and looking at all the mid-drive, big hub motor, fat tire and big battery bikes I bought this one on sale for $1700.00. Been commuting on it to work for a month and love it. It is the perfect ebike for my use scenario. 11 mile commute with only a few 10% grade hills. No need to merge onto highway traffic, no need to go faster then 18 mph or so. Great riding position and swept back handlebars that's easy on the arthritis in my hands, easy on my shoulders, easy on my back and knees. Light weight that I can easily maneuver and handle in and out of my back yard shed. Belt drive system. It's a great bike if you're lucky enough to have the right use scenario.

    I've had this bike for about two months now and have loved it. I previously owned the Radrunner 2, which is also a single speed ebike but is a class 2, and I think the Tenways performs much better uphill (likely due to its lighter weight and the better gear ratio). If you are accustomed to acoustic bikes, then this is a great option. The whole idea behind a Class 1 ebike is that you don't have to exert nearly as much effort to cover the same amount of ground and it's easier on your joints. Trying to compare it to a bike with throttle is like comparing apples and oranges. I rarely experience ghost pedaling with this bike, which is a major complaint for many single speed ebikes. For the specs of this bike (350 W motor, belt drive, suspension fork, torque sensor, accessories included), it's a great bang for your buck compared to similar spec'd ebikes. I test rode the Cowboy 4 ST, which has almost identical specs and feels very similar while riding, but is $1500 more than the CGO800S. The new AGO T model is literally $2000 cheaper than the Gazelle Ultimate C380 which again has very similar specs. My commute is 24 mi round trip with a decent number of hills and I'm able to maintain an avg 17-18 mph with ease virtually the whole way on PAS1. If you change the max speed in settings, it does change the output at lower levels, while still cutting off the motor at 20 mph. I can't recommend this bike and brand enough.

      This is a Dutch bike. A throttle in Europe is seen as a motorised vehicle not as a e-bike.
      Also speed is limited to 25 km in Europe.
      So it's a good bike!

    I can really see how you are looking at this compared to the universe of Class 4 ebikes which are little more than electric mopeds. This is a Class 1 ebike, and a very well executed one. Not you, but I've seen other reviewers complain about some of the Class 1 ebikes because they don't have fat tires and full suspension systems. Again, they aren't supposed to! Sheesh!

      Over here in the UK a lot of people just buy 1000 or 2000 watt hub motor kits online and add them to bikes they already own. We all know that riding 250w limited at 15mph ebikes is dangerous on the roads and simply not good enough. Canada is also quite restrictive but even there they are allowed 500w and 20mph which is significantly better.

    I'm 3 days in to owning this bike, and so far I've capped 33 miles. On flats I'm able to maintain a comfortable pace of around 15mph on PAS 1 and 2. The assessment in this review seems pretty accurate so far. This is really a bike with electric assist rather than an electric mobility device with pedals. For me that's a good thing. I don't want a bike that does all the work for me. I want to get some exercise while also getting where I want to go quickly. The upright seating position is AWESOME. This bike is not just for older people who can't bend over easily. It really is the best seating position if you're riding to commute as it gives you better comfort and superior visibility (much easier to look behind me compared to a traditional bike geometry). This bike is also WHISPER quiet. Range is also very respectable. I can easily expect to get 40 miles or more, which is plenty for my needs.

Those links that allow you to tweak fender to tire distance and giving the ability to get the fender aligned perfectly left to right with the wheels.. Anyone have thoughts on that feature? I'm wondering if it's going to be more trouble than it's worth and be one more thing to worry about having to tighten back up periodically . or if it's just for OCD people and having straight line syndrome 😂

    I thought the 33 pound Tenways CGO600 was a decent eBike with torque sensing that let you climb short hills, and long inclines unlike cheap cadence sensors eBikes. Also has juice brakes, and a 350 watt motor with a gates belt drive.

    • @chrissinclair8705
      @chrissinclair8705 Рік тому +1

      You can get a lot of torque sensing bikes for under $2300. Hell you can get a lot of ebike for under $1500. Put it this way I bought a gotrax ebe8 which is a similar sort of setup a few years ago when ebikes were much more expensive for around $1300. It came with a 48v not a 36v volt 15 amp battery, 21 speed shifter, throttle, weighed only 52lbs with the battery, could easily hit 20 mph and was easy to pedal if the battery cut out. Since then I added an unlocked display and a 52v battery and cable actuated hydraulic brakes for around $200. So for around $1000 less I got a 23mph commuter bike with a throttle that will do 40 miles range throttle only no problem(I tested it)with another 4 miles weak power assist with a 500w motor. It's just not worth the price and I bought it mid summer with no deals. Same bike is much cheaper now.

    • @LimitedWard
      @LimitedWard 7 місяців тому

      @@chrissinclair8705 the CGO800S has a torque sensor and a belt drive while the Gotrax you referenced has a cadence sensor and chain drive. Two completely different systems. CGO800S also has significantly longer range and much higher quality components overall. I don't think these two bikes are remotely comparable. This is meant to be a low/zero maintenance class 1 ebike, not a moped with pedals.

      I'm sure it's great, but a little too rich for my blood. I never said it was bad. I guess the best way to do it is to build your own in theory using a bike that you are most comfortable with and then use that as a platform to build up whatever you wish to put on as componants. Want a torque sense mid-drive? Hey no problem. Want a larger battery? Sure why not?@@LimitedWard
