I actually do kind of respect cops who understand *why* their profession is so reviled, and dont get too bent out of shape at neing called "pigs", or the word "𝙰 𝙲 𝙰 𝙱". The ones that I knew grew up being subjected to the same authoritarian police terror, so they get it. They just really needed jobs, considering that many felt their degrees are "worthless" and the fact that manufacturing & trade jobs are non-existent nowadays in many areas.
With the way the donor class has government fund our police state to protect them from the working class, I'm sure the benefits factor in hardbody. Benefits like retireing after only 20 years with a great pension, qualified immunity, etc.
Then there's the ones who actively joined to make a difference in their communities, only to realize that its damn near impossible to change authoritarian blue line culture from within it, and then just either become an active participant in police terror ir are just trying to bide their time until retirement.
