The best tip that i can give you is get goats. make buckets. the goat milk you can put in the biofuel and it gives a TON of food. plus if you don't use the bucket in a recipe you can reuse it. the main concern for making biofuel that i notice is not the food, but the glass. smelting sand for glass to use in the recipe for honey is the most time consuming thing that i noticed. I am keeping up with it well because i don't use my engines unless absolutely necessary.

Actually as of a more recent update Bruce can only break the outside parts of the Raft so you can just re-enforce the outside making the inside look much nicer!
I love how the design is so clean, deliberate, and efficient too. It seems like you get a lot in there without it looking like it's taking up a lot of space. For example, you don't have a lot of visible pipes going everywhere. And then of course all your comfy home and amenity areas. That is a work of art.

oh no, trust me. this is the save from the first time i played raft and I loved all of my older builds i had before this. keep in mind that getting to your best raft design should be a fun process of learning the building as you go.
Great build…beautiful design. Side note: you only need 6 engines (you can have more but they’ll not add additional speed as 6 is the max out that allows you to go beyond 600 foundations). With your size raft, 6 keeps you at the max 2.5 speed). Great work on this!

Pretty sure you only have to reinforce the outermost layer of foundations? I only have the outermost layer reinforced on my raft and Bruce doesn’t use it as a chew toy anymore.
@@kristengall2100 what i ment is her mind might still be thinking in past updates like thats what she knows and has always done. I remember the days when you had to reinforce the area around your anchor and and the edges and bruce would still attack. Its probably some sort of like superstition
honest question, why did you fortify the floors inside the raft? I never got attacked by shark after fortifying only the outer layer. Actually just finished that a couple hours ago and shark has not attacked any more
I fortified them because I genuinly like the design of the metal around each of the squares. Plus I did have an entire large storage box filled with metal that I would never be able to burn through
creation mode is basically you cannot sail your raft at all. it is just for people who want to build. but keep in mind you can never sail it to do real things or do story line. its a good way to design something before you actually want to use real resources to build on your main save.

Yes I did say that and Yes I will elaborate. Thank you for asking. The reason I switched over to the large storage box actually came from a comment by someone that really put things into perspective. Although the large storage box does not hold the same amount of materials that the smaller box does if you press O on your keyboard when you are in game you get the frames that your game is running at as well as how much allocated memory is reserved and what is being used. I did a test prior to changing my raft and I noticed in my crafting room that my frames were dropping to 20. Stupidly low. I realized it was because of the number of chests. even though it is still more cost effective for the storage boxes the large storage chests do effect your frames. I did a test afterwards in my new raft and went into my storage room. because i had half of the chests that I did on my old raft the highest/lowest and average of my frames was at 41 roughly. So by using the new storage I did help out my gameplay.
im gonna guess the answer is while they are not as cost efficient they are more convenient. at the start she said she ended up going through something like 7 large storage boxes of wood. if that were stored in the smaller storage you would need what like 20 of them just for wood. that and there is probably a performance bonus for not having as many storage entities on the raft and if you are at that sage of the game and you have a lot of titanium you don't really have anything else to spend it on with there been no titanium tools or weapons so why not spend it on storage .

I actually built a small separate spot to my raft. I don't know if you saw it or not. when i was done with the renovations i destroyed it. but it was a pain in the but cause i had to move my materials over. but it is what it is.
seems to me you have twice as many sprayers than needed. and ever think about having NO roofs above all your animals so the rain can help you with the watering?
of course. i have double the sprayers because i already have them made up plus realistically it is less time that i have to run up there to replace the batteries. I know i will have to recharge all of them but if i have more it will evenly disperse the water and usage of the batteries which will make my time going up there to replace them longer. I don't want no ceilings. part of my design is aesthetics. while you can choose to do no roof I much rather prefer sacrificing some functionality for aesthetics. It all comes down to personal preference and what you want in your build.

I don't use any mods on my raft saves. I always keep games to their vanilla stage. The large storage boxes were introduced in Raft Chapter 2. They are a part of the game. You get the blueprint to craft them on Tangeroa Island towards the end in this huge elevator in the middle of the city.
i dont understand why the youtubers that build rafts make such huge rafts?? i dont want it to take 2 minutes to get from my farm to my engine room etc.
I made my raft big because I play with other people. it has nothing to do with being a UA-camr. I always collect a ton of resources. I would have done this with or or without my channell...honestly look at the raft steam posts of people building much bigger designs then mine. jealous much?
i had about 600 metal ingots on my raft so i just decided to reinforce it all. I have an absolute load of materials. plus I like the consistent look throughout for continuity purposes with aesthetics and such.

if i had to take a guess i went through almost 12 large storage boxes filled with wood which equals to about 9,500 wood. A crap ton. I also had to spend about 350 metal ingots for reinforcing floors and updating some items i had. I went through only 3 large storage boxes of plastic. but I went through over 1 and a half large storage boxes of Scrap alone. then I went through an entire box of scrap nails. This was a very pricy project and I have been working on this save gathering resources for the entire 320+ hours i have on steam.

And I wanted to mention this, when i played yesterday the new engine control was already added but when i visited caravan island again, I found a blueprint for it in the mayor house. I built it first in creative mode in half a day. I then built it on my real world save and it took me about 3 days to build it. I had to keep stopping for wood. I went through over 7 storage chests. In the end probably went through 12 of the large storage chest filled with wood. rennovation update is taxing on your supplies. no joke. keep in mind that i have been playing on the same save for almost 2 and a half years now so i had so much mats to begin with.

fyi you can put the renforced platforms on the out side and the shark wont eat the cheaper inner platforms

Ngl the raft design kind of reminds me of a game called 3008 in the gaming platform Roblox.

How did you change the Foundation to Solid Foundation without breaking the former?
The game now let's you upgrade your foundation instead of having to destroy it and replace it. It is one of the options on you hammer.

I have three battery chargers for this. I had a lot of glass saved up to make honey to then turn into biofuel which powered them at the time.

just so you know, you dont have to armor every tile, just the outside edge. save ya some metal.

no just reinforce the edges of the raft and around the anchor if you have one and the engines around that if you have engines.
