Please do "Try a Little Tenderness" by Otis Redding. One of the greatest builds in a song ever! He goes from low and slow to being so riled up it's almost like he is speaking in tongues by the end of it. Absolutely amazing

@@jamesanthony5257 I'd rather hear Chris Brown or Three Dog Night do this song any day of the week than your suggestion. Chris does an especially nice cover. As for "Mustang Sally", The Young Rascals version is also far better than anything by The Commitments, not to mention Sir Mack Rice's greater, original version.

Every time I hear this tune I immediately go to "The Commitments" movie, a story about an Irish "soul" band. Pickett appears in the movie - or at least his limo appears in the movie. Check it out, I'm sure you'll like it if only for the tunes. Irish soul? Yeah, that's a thing! Cheers....

I'm sure you've noticed, that EVERYONE is recommending that you guys react to the movie "The Commitments". Please put it on your list (if it's not already in there). Its an Irish film, so I hope you can handle the accents, they're pretty thick (the accents, not the people) 😜 Joking aside, it's a great movie with some pretty fabulous singing in it.
BTW...... The actor (Andrew Strong) playing the lead singer (Deco Cuffe) in the band in this movie, was only 16 years old at the time of filming. And his voice was outstanding. 📽🎙🎼🔥🎸🥁🎷🎺

Jay & Amber, this song is sung in the movie "The Commitments." It 's about a group of Irish misfits who join together to form a band. And what a band, especially the lead singer. It's full of comedy, angst, rivalry and conflict. It's well worth a watch and a must for any music fan.

A 1967 song from Arthur Conley that definitely needs a reaction: "Sweet Soul Music" pays tribute to the soul singers of the era (including Wilson Pickett) and references some of their hits--including "Mustang Sally." A song that's impossible NOT to dance to...

I had just again heard Sweet Soul Music last week and where he says of James Brown “He’s the king of them all yeah” and for first time ever took issue with that statement cuz I’d recently been listening to a lot of Otis Redding and thought maybe Otis should actually be considered the King? Then I went home and googled the song and saw that Otis was one of the songwriters of it hahaha.

My first car was a 64 1/2 Mustang convertible. (It was the prototype.) I failed the written driving test 3 times when I was a teenager and kind of gave up on trying. At 21, a co-worker told me her sister was selling it for $500.00. Within a week, I got my learner's permit, the car and my driver's license.

Love this tune.. The first car that I can remember that my mother had was a yellow 1965 Mustang.. it was not the fast, souped up one, but it was STILL cool... I just remember my dad saying years later... that he never could keep a transmission in that thing.. I remember an old photo, or perhaps a movie standing in front of the car with my white go-go boots (it was the era of the Beatles and I was 6 years old with my mini-dress and my go-go boots).. those times were special! Great pick guys! You go get that car Amber.. But you have to give J. a ride.... hear?

Sixties Soul Classic. "Mustang Sally" was originally a #15 R&B/Soul chart hit for Sir Mack Rice in 1965. In 1966, Wilson Pickett recorded a cover that bested the original, peaking @ #6 on the R&B/Soul chart & #23 on the Billboard Hot 100 Pop chart. Pickett charted 38 singles on the Pop chart with only 2 in the Top 10 ("Land of 1,000 Dances" & "Funky Broadway.") On the R&B/Soul chart, Picket charted 49 titles with 18 reaching the Top 10 including 5 @ #1("In the Midnight Hour" (1965), "634-5789" (1966), "Land of 1,000 Dances"(1966), "Funky Broadway" (1967), & "Don't Knock My Love (Part 1)" (1971). Pickett's final Pop chart single was in 1973, while on the R&B/Soul chart, he continued to chart singles into 1987.

My first car was a 1968 Dodge Charger I bought in '74. It was painted primer grey and I never got around to put any color coats on it. Had a 383 engine in it, which wasn't the biggest engine available but it still pushed that heavy ass car around pretty good. Last of the drum brakes model so after fooling around for a while the brakes would get too hot to work. Looked like an oversized Corvette.
It got me 5 tickets in 3 years, and I can't tell you how many times I was pulled over for made up reasons just to see what I/we were up to. After a friend wrecked it I got a '64 four door Chev with a 6 cylinder and a steering column shifter ( 3 on the tree) that I drove pretty much the same way but never got pulled over in.

Rear-ended Idiot who stopped around a blind corner on the highway to take a cone out of the road. I the end I drover away with no headlights, he was ticked and towed. Proud to say my buddy and I replaced the entire nose hood and all that i got at a junk yard. This was before the internet and UA-cam. Neither of us were mechanics, and all we had was a Chilton's manual to work from, but we got it done and I drive it another 5 years before i gave it to my buddies brother. I just find it so amusing that a black man known for being one of the pioneers of soul music in the 50's and 60's have his music playing and every picture that flashes on the video is white women in front of a mustang. We've come a long way from back then and at the same time we haven't changed at all.
