I personally believe it IS part of his testimony and his life and all events and circumstances lead to who you are today. Pastors who have sinned with alcohol or drugs in their past will mention that as part of their testimony. I'm not sure we should be attaching so much shame to past sins---part of the story of overcoming "whatever" is what can help people. God forgives all sin!!!!
