I had never before thought of putting poems to music. But I did it once. It was rainning so hard and God gave me a song for my mother. I was on my way to see my mother when I got off work. Was the time my mother had cancer. It was a five hour drive. It was pouring down rain. She went to the organ and tried to play it the best she could. She didn't have long to live after that.
Jesus is the lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. He is the light of the world. He is the door of salvation. He cried out on the cross of Calvary "it is finished" . The door is open, the light is on, the welcome mat is out front stating "whosoever will may come " simply believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and come in freely by God's grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

This makes tears come to my eyes - besides loving the song and becoming now aware that the tune comes from George Beverly Shea, it reminds me of when I came to Christ 52 years ago in Melbourne Australia at the Sydney Myer Music Bowl and I came down to the front to accept Jesus as my Lord. Billy Graham had preached and George Beverly Shea was singing.
I am Australian & I remember very clearly as a young girl hearing Beveley Shea sing this beautiful song.. although I was a Christian, I made up my mind then that whatever came my way, I would rather follow Jesus than anything else. His sincerity and love for Christ was so evident! He was over 100 years old when God called him home!!! What a rich and deep life of service to the Lord!!!
