The Zulu stretchy mesh pocket is vastly superior to the Stratos zipped pocket. If the main compartments are full, the zipped pocket is super difficult to use.

Here is a better idea do a load up of the Zulu 35 and the Stratos 34 and you will see that the Gregory can load quite a bit more should it ever be used for anything more than a day hike. In fact the feature of the concave back of the Stratos 34 that you liked for it's breathability potential also limits it's depth for what it can carry comparable to the Zulu 30 or 35 both of which seem more versatile to me and more competitively priced.

I'm a big fan of Osprey, but between these, I got the Zulu.

4:09 something is wrong with your backpack. I have Zulu 30 and the hole is really big enough for any water reservoir hose I've tried.

The way you presented the difference is very much favorable to Osprey

I have one question that I can never seem to get an answer to. Can I carry it on a plane, specifically American Airlines.

The packs are only a few inches over in some dimensions so you might be able to get away with it. If it's a small plane they may ask you to check your bag at the gate for free. www.aa.com/i18n/travel-info/baggage/carry-on-baggage.jsp

@@airborne3369 Good to know. I measured it and it seems like 1 inch too long but at an angle, it fits!

I do not like the thin material of Osprey‘s backpacks.
Deuter, Lowe Alpine and especially Bach use far better materials in my opinion. I want to use a backpack 10 years.
