I lived in Henry V111 Old Hunting Lodge Stables (Grooms Quarters above the horses) at the Englefield Green/Fox and Hounds Pub Gate into the Great Park, as a Polo Groom in 1982. The Hunting Lodge had a tunnel from the Stable Yard to the kitchens for the Staff to get to meals without being seen by the 'elite'...there were Wine Cellars and reputedly a tunnel from the Castle a mile away to the Lodge. We did find a bricked up arch in the right place to run to the Castle by the Great Mile...
Place was bloody haunted..not just the Lodge and Stables but the whole area. I got walked through by a ghost Monk one night...we often heard shod horses and carriage noises coming down the lane to the Stables but never saw the actual Horses and Carriages, even when they sounded like they were right below our window looking into the yard. We would see strange horses in with the Polo Ponies on checks etc...when you got a headcollar and lead, and went back to remove the stranger there would only be the one meant to be there! Loads more happened in that place. They knocked it for a housing estate l think. Had a Jekyll garden and allsorts....
We even heard music one night and went out to the front paddock (previously the big lawn front of Lodge) and could see flickering lights in the Ballroom....we ran back and locked ourselves in the flat we all shared above the Stables...all of us 4 lads 5 lasses in one room...pile of scared puppies we were 😂😂😂😶

This is an amazing account and I do believe in these things happening.
What a place to have experienced x
Go to Windsor Castle and try it in some of the gates 😅

The needle wasn't used in saddle making as its a sail making needle

What is the song and the singer ?
Karliene "walk with the devil " is our intro song Joan x
Do you need a permit?

The wrought iron hook is a, Bag Hook , used wherever sacks are lifted then moved, they were and are still used in Mills, and possibly whilst loading boats…. I have originals at home…..do a search for Bag Hooks both .
Thanks so much for your information.
The needle is the right size for a sail maker.

Thanks John 🤗
Great video as always some lovely stuff there what a place to magnet fish 😊
Thanks David
Yes it was a great place to see and magnet fish
Whoops, spelling mistake, I meant Lucky it wasn't t height of t tourist season.😊
16:26- I have seen my farrier friend bend an old file like that to use on sealing a crack on a horses hoof. Cautery? Not sure. This was over 50 years ago. Thanks for the video on Windsor Castle. I had an ancestor on my mothers side Knighted by William the Conqueror. It is possible he trod the same area you folks are in on the video. 35:40- Not getting a good look at it, but it might be a push on clip for the end of an axel for a doll pram or garden equipment. It might have a couple of small prongs on the inside. If so, that's what it is.
I like the display that you made, and the rowel from a very old spur is quite interesting. IIRC there are books out on identifying them. Great find on the lamp part.
Thanks FK 🤗
❤😊
I think the strips of red and white metal pieces you were picking out used to hang off rope round areas that work men were working on usually on the roads then they went to plastic, great work guys the river was running fast
Thanks June xx
Yes that could be what they are, thanks for your idea xx

I found out about you from watching Nicola White, and I love your videos. I'm originally from the Newcastle region, but I live in the U.S. now. I love seeing people from my beloved country doing some history hunting, as well as clearing the rubbish from the waterways. Well done to all of you, you're all legends.
Bless you James for your kind words,
We love it and will carry on pulling the history
Fantastic finds Peaky dippers and each one of them is a gem I think because they all stir the imagination and they’re all thought provoking.
The webbing buckle circa World War Two for example my dad was a Grenadier guard and stationed at Windsor WW2 for his training before going off to Anzio, could my dad have dropped it very doubtful but he was there around the time it was lost. ❤
Thanks so much for your kind words v4victory.
I'm willing to send you that webbing buckle of you was to send Marie your address

Awesome finds congratulations have a great nite
Thank you 🤗
Those are two beautiful blondes !
ALL UK MAGNET FISHERS SHOULD CREATE A MUSEUM TO STORE & EXHIBIT ALL YOUR HISTORICAL ITEMS
Great video guys though I nearly choked on my coffee as Mrs Peaky explained the WW1 pigtails. (16:10 on the video) It's Annals of history (Pronounced Ann-all's) and not as Mrs Peaky said Anals which is something completely different. As Corporal Jones would say "They don't like it up'em" 🤣🤣
Whoops 🤣🤣
Hi guys and gals I've been watching Nicola and Simon for some time now I always enjoy their videos now I've subscribed to your channel ...I love seeing the historic items found in the Thames and other parts of your history rich country......good luck on your next outing....Karl from eastern Canada

Looking forward to that.
Finding is my passion, but I find wild foods and medicines. I Aldo have a youtube channel, so I try to support others who are like minded.
Thx for what you do
That mold was a size 6 medieval muffin stamp.
Looked like a great day out!
Awesome finds! I have to say that Marie's key is the most intriguing. Congrats, Marie! Though that oil lamp and plaque are pretty amazing. 😯
Thanks Beaky 🤗
Looks more like an old docker's hook, used for bales and boxes and crates. Surprised you were allowed to fly drone over Windsor Castle, could have been shot down by guards.
Thanks Frank for the info.
Yes the footage wasn't ours we asked a film creator if we could use his.
It was a restricted area as you say
Fantastic magnet fishing, all my favorite treasure hunters in one group love you all.😊❤
Thanks Verda 🤗
Absolutely amazing amazing show as always 👍🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Hi Steve and Alison
Hi Nickola
Have you thought about doing the lock mate
Hi john,
We will sure be down that way again this year, I'll have a look at the Dock.
Is that Amy Weinhouse in opening song?
No its sang by a lady named karliene "walking with the devil "
I found your channel from Si Find...very enjoyable and educational!
Lovely finds peaky famalam ❤
Cheers Gill xx
Are you allowed to feed the swans 🦢?
Yes the swans are OK to feed x
Glen just asking about the new tat, I take it kev from 2 gun's did it, he's done most of mine he's cock on , great channel, you've come a long way since Brake's mate👍
Ah ah cheers nick, long time no see mate.
Was only thinking of you the other day lol.
Yes it was kev at 2 guns and his work like you say is amazing 👏
great trip out guys
Thanks DS 🤗
I've never seen this kind of video & don't know why it was recommended to me, but it was Really interesting! I was very amazed how well the stuff cleaned up! I thought the heavy thing needing a second magnet, was an alternator from a car. & I've no idea what the rectangle 1924 tag is? I think that this hobby is something that I could really enjoy, not in the cold though & it looked kinda cold that day. I think that I might stick around a while & Good Luck on future finds! From Ohio, USA
Thanks marsha xx
So glad you came across us and enjoyed us x
The 1924 tag is off the old thames river boats, very collectable.
Lots more videos to bring everyone x
I was watching Nichola White and Si-Finds fish with you. So I subscribed! And I am now bing watching the past videos. I am taking cancer treatments and since I will never get to visit Britain, I will watch all the history videos I can find. Yours is the best so far! So thank you for allowing me to forget my fight and enjoy some history fun!
Bless you Mary,
We send prayers to you xx
Lots more to come and hope you enjoy x
I saw the movie Peaky Blinders but did not investigate the meaning of the title . Seeing Peaky Dippers I now had to find an explanation .
"Peaky," at the time, just referred to a popular style of flat cap that came to a small peak atop the head. And "blinder" was, a common Birmingham slang for someone well-dressed and dapper. From accross the Pond . All of your group were Blinders well-dressed and dapper for the ocassion
I am a brummy so when choosing a name for our channel we came up with peaky dippers.
That was so funny Marie with the tiny fish 😂❤❤
Don't link wiggly things Arlene 😂
@@mariecollinspeakydippers Hi Marie, My husband and I used to fish for fish all summer, enjoyed eating them too and got extra fish for family and friends. Those were the days we enjoyed so much. Now not able to go fishing. Too old and health problems. But we got our pictures and memories to look back on. Stay well and enjoy your passion .
What's a "Civil War" Bridge? (When the horseshoe was found.) I mean I know what the Civil War was in the U.S., but not Britain, and why does it relate to the horseshoe?
The British civil war was in the 1640s .
Where we was fishing lay a bridge there under the water you can't see.
Men and horses would've crossed it all those years ago and anything we pull from that area could be of the original bridges origins
Do you make any money on the scrap metal or is that against the law?
Wonderful video, thank you.
Wow, how much paperwork and hoops did you guys have to jump through, to fly over and film Windsor Castle!? Lucky it wasn't t height of y tourist season, gets V busy there!😊🤔📚
This wasn't filmed by peaky dippers as its restricted but we had permission of the film maker to use it xx
@@PeakyDippers Oh, ok, that was good. Less stress on you guys.☺️👍
11:02 min. that could be a shoe buckle! !
