A inline 6 diesel? Very compelling idea especially with a 10 speed automatic!
Edysin Simon I drove one and want it! Can’t afford it right now, so I’ll have to wait but it’s an awesome engine/truck.
GM has a way of upgrading without making the previous generation look bad. So many complaints abt square wheel wells, but I think the 14 -18s will age well. Just my opinion.
Dude I miss the square wheel wells. Just looked good on a truck.
I like both styles, was going to buy a 19 Ld ,old body style but then saw the trailboss and with incentives was about the same price. The new style feels better on the road, handles more like a car. Its bigger and lighter. I bought the white custom trailboss with the blacked out front and wheels, looks great.
Both Ram and Chevy came out with great designs. Shut up and buy whichever truck you like!
Taylor Albaugh I've worked on trucks for 11 years now.... If you! Yes yourself had to change your own ball joints or even your transmission. Chevy design and engineering is far superior. What's also funny is if you had all Ford , Dodge and Chevy in a line. For something like do it yourself Oil change. Chevy places things in the perfect spot and gives you room to work. Ford you have to take the cover off underneath. Not to mention the damn plastic oil cap. Let's not even start where the oil filter is located on a ford truck. (All new Ford trucks are covered in oil) lift the hood and look down where the filter is. You'll see..... Dodge can goes both ways.... Either it's smooth or your in for a treat. Now alignments let's be far.... They all suck!! Ask any realtime mechanic they would agree. Lol
The Chevy is FAR from a great design. They could have done so much better.
@Andrew Bastain no thanks I'd rather not work on my truck I'll take it to the mechanics and keep people like you employed and working.
Ram is doo doo
Great Video!!!
Keep up the good work.
Love the truck i got the 2019 silverado LT 2.7L turbo and it rides great took it on to road trips and it did wonderful on gas better than I expected for being a 4 cylinder!
A lot of people made a buzz about how ford aluminum body would corrode if it comes in contact with the steel frame... now looking at this Silverado with so many joints between aluminum and steel can’t help to think how it would hold the test of time
I also hope the new double cab will have more rear space.
How long will the frame last before it rots out from salt? A channel frame is far easier to coat and access to spray on fluid film.
Which of the 3 (Ford, Ram and Chevy) holds more load?
How do the big 3 compare in tight turning radius......
Does anyone know what kind of wheels/tires are on the red silverado??
Truuuuuucs!
I really like the fender design.
I wish this new Silverado had the new ram interior. Anyway...: can’t wait to see what the new Sierra is gonna look like.
I think the Chevrolet TrailBoss is the best looking and coolest truck by far the Ram looks like crap they need to do something drastic to the exterior the interior digital panel is gonna be a nightmare to operate while driving Silverado TrailBoss is the best truck easily in 2019
Id like to see and drive the new base Trail Boss, not that i'd ever buy one after driving the Rebel for the past 6 months, but I do enjoy the Truck Industry's competition and progression.
What's with the round Fender Wells?
This is beast , I love new look
The classic small block 350 and big block 454. OOOOOH YEEEEEEEES!!
Love it!. Where is the steel coming from? Asia has not been a quality focus producer of anything.
The new 2019 Silverado looks amazing.
Nothing beats good old Chevy my comrades. You got so much engines you can buy from Chevy ex.. LS, LT, E-Rod, Circle Track, reliable Chevy small block, and of course the legendary Chevy big block.
Monard Forsaken @ I totally agree! Chevrolet dealers also have the best coffee in the service area customer lounge. Buy a Chevy and you spend a lot of time there. Some people really like free coffee. lmao
If you don’t like change and you don’t like innovation. Buy a Chevy. If you decide you want to modernize get a ford or ram
Not trying to start an argument my comrades it’s just that Chevy has all your engine varieties. From the most efficient and most powerful v8’s not to mention you can buy the Chevy big block. Think about the Chevy big block.
Dreysen Lindgren define modernize. If modernize means Ford shoving an ecoboost (which isnt anything remotely close to anything "eco") down everyones throat and Ram putting giant infotainmemt screens in their trucks to compensate for lack of drivetrain innovation then yes they are modernized
You sound like a salesman but not a bad one although you are lying just like all of Chevy commercials because ford has more engines
How about the new Silverado 4 cylinder 2.7L turbo
Im not brand loyal to any of the trucks and think all of them are pretty dang nice. Ram's use of hybrid tech is very interesting and their interiors are amazing. The diesels are a big deal and if they price them right I'd bet they will sell a ton of them. Im a bit suspicious of this new cylinder deactivation technology since it always seems to be a constant problem in GM trucks from mechanics Ive talked to.
C-grunt 🤔
What happened to the front end ?
It looks great, however, they got rid of tilt-wheel, which really upsets me. I use that feature everyday, getting in and out. uhg.
I'm happy to see that GM is finally getting away from the square wheelwells. I love GM, but the round wheels didn't look so hot in those square holes.
Looks like a tundra. Will it be reliable, recall free?
Composite springs..... remember the composite driveshafts from the past? Didn't work out, springs aren't the area I'd want to skimp on.
Ram because it has been 10 years it got a redesign and it has a 12 inch portrait style screen which is a bigger deal than the class exclusive power operated trunk.
yes when im older i am so buying it
I was waiting for the 2019 silverado to come out, but then i saw what they did to it... ran to the dealer and bought a 2018!!
Awesome truck !!!
is that GMC motor is the same chevrolet motor ?? because GMC truck is look very similar to chevrolet truck ?
New Ram looks like a big improvement - wasn't a fan of the frond end look before. Have a 2014 Sierra - very reliable truck - might look at the Silverado or another Sierra in the fall....
Is GM using still the wax coating on the frame? If yes, it's a deal breaker for me.
I like Ram’s design
Do a 2019 Ram shortlist please.
Man O War ok
salvatore DeAngelo that is your opinion about Dodge not a fact so keep your opinion to your self
Chevrolet styling has always been the best.
I want the new silverado, but the JL unlimited Rubicon calls to me far more.
My guess is the 2500 will be slightly longer to be able to shove that V8 Duramax under the hood. Much like the Titan changed the length of their truck to fit the Cummins between the XD and the half ton.
C Steele not saying it won't be longer, but I will say that the Duramax is not all that much longer than the small blocks that are already under that hood. Not to mention the I-6 Duramax that already fits in this truck is a long engine.
I'm a Chevy truck guy, but I find the styling somewhat off putting. The inline 6 diesel does have me interested though.
Ron Smith I agree about the styling, that's why I have a 2012 and will keep it till it rusts away. I don't want a truck that looks like a transformer.
You couldn't find one more?
Did GM and Ford design the 10 speed engine?
will looks like i might finely trade my 2008 2500 in but i shure love having my truck paid off and no dumb payments.
Wasn't this in January?
I like the Ram better, but at the end of the day, I think the Silverado will still sell more than the Ram 1500 because GM listened to their customers more with the redesign. That’s why the interior is a bit underwhelming. According to Chevrolet, current Silverado owners said they didn’t want the interior much different than the current Silverado. They didn’t even replace the trim level name LTZ with Premier like every other Chevrolet vehicle to please current Silverado owners.
Elliott Manning the only reason anyone will be picking the ram over the Chevrolet or GMC will be the big screen infotainment that the ram has other than that it's pretty much lights out as far as drivetrains go GM's got the best and there is no doubt
Except the front end looks like they blatantly copied a 2012 F150
Elliott Manning don’t ram cost more than the Chevy?
Benjamin Dover doesnt look like they copied an f150 at all. Everyone uses a signature lighting, chevy is using a triple led light, if anything ford copied chevy by having a stacked headlight
Well what a bad taste those people got for their money. If im paying 50k for a high end luxury vehicle, i better get that luxury
Still no manual shift id buy one if i could get a manual gearbox
cost is just stupid! As a former GM Sales Manager for 10 years I want to take this opportunity to break the cost down for you. If a 2018 reg cab 4wd lists for 43,000.00 then its safe to say these will be priced in the high 50's to 70k range or higher. Now lets say you buy one at 70k @ 84 month financing @ 0% interest your payments will be 833 for 7 years not counting insurance and fuel costs. So for the next 2 new cars you purchase over a 14 year period you'll shell out around 150K bucks. I bought a 1995 Z71 trade in in 1999 @ a cost of 10K dollars. I've driven it for 19 years and just spent 8500.00 to have it restored to new condition...ie new GM crate engine and trans as well as complete suspension. So for around 80 bucks a month over that time period I have driven to work and all over the country. So the question is do you want to throw away 170K over the next 19 years or put the money in a retirement account or college fund for the kiddies.
I think it's a vast improvement but it's not one of the most important reveal. The ram 1500 is a show stealer. It's also vastly improved but it's also a vastly better truck for my needs. Interior is were it really counts for me and the Ram is a palace inside.
Great vehicle, I just still think that we need front air-vent deletes as an option.
The exterior looks great but I think the interior needs a better upgrade like the 2019 ram
I like the Ram 1500 but I love the new Silverado
I heard GM FINALLY fixed the GM slip yoke clunk with the introduction of their own version of a Jeep slip yoke eliminator
RAM is more modern and more futuristic hence why it'd my choise.
Kacper B that's alot of gizmos and gadgets your betting on FCA to make work tho.
That’d sure be a good choise
It's certainly plausible that one may prefer the new styling of the new Ram over that of the new Chevy, but to claim Ram did more to modernize their new truck over Chevy is ridiculous. They both did a lot of work to reduce drag, but GM dropped double the weight of Ram because they extended aluminum construction to the door panels. Chevy has an all-new diesel; Ram's older diesel is banned. Chevy will have six power trains; Ram three, and the count is only two; engines are 100% the same as the last generation. Chevy is going with next-generation cylinder deactivation which will make fire, no fire decisions for each cylinder on each cycle; Ram will use the same old system but add a starter generator that's been around in cars since 2005 that do not improve mpg other than what any start stop may do. Chevy will have a brand new ten speed tranny. Ram reworked their I speed. Chevy will offer their new trucks in regular cab configuration; Ram will abandon those customers by offering the regular cabs only in the old truck. In what since is the Ram more modern than the Chevy. I have no dog in this race. I'm a Ford guy.
No one is talking about the factory duel exhaust, FINALLY
Chevy definitely hired a Toyota designer. The styling looks foreign, kinda hard on the eyes, but it's will get the job done with little effort. I can't stand Dodge..but there design team is awesome. The styling of the Ram, Charger, and Challenger all just flows so perfect and its just simple headlight features that set the tone. That Sierra though...Hands down BEST TRUCK Detroit has ever produced period
I wonder why not more hss are used.
the best truck
Is there gonna be 2020 Chevrolet Silverado
I feel like the truck is incomplete like GM just rushed it out in a hurry for the show. I wanted to hear more about Chevy E-Assist battery they made back in 2017. For those thinking I am talking about Rams E-torque no I am not.
We think the new Silverado has more way more pluses than minuses and that it's a massive upgrade. The proof will be in the test drive
When it comes to the difference between the RAM and the Chevrolet I would pick the Chevrolet mostly because it's using very smart selection of materials in the most important places including its frame and engine Technology Drive train technology is true and will last whereas Dodge has not proven this even their hemis have severe problems the only drivetrain Dodge has that is bulletproof is the Cummins and I believe Chevrolet is going to finally squish Dodge Advantage with their own easy to work on version with their 3L straight 6 diesel!
Why aren’t they pairing the new 10 speed with the 5.3 v8 , that will be the engine that most people choose.
I think that will be an option with the 2020s
Too early to tell the bigger deal. Comes down to price, options, economy, driving. So far e torque is sweet but the weight loss, skip fire, and aerodynamic improvement of Chevy could be a 20% bump in EPA mpg without need to start stop, which I don’t love.
Trailboss is awesome!
Looks better with the wheelwells round.
Craig for president!!!!!!
Am I the only one who thinks they look like a tundra?
Love my 15 duramax not sure I️ love this new body style
Hmm finally got rid of those damn square wheel wells ahaha. Exterior bed design looks like a Tundra, even that tail light.
LOL!! "All American Pickup?" LOL. That's funny.
Storage is nice inside the box. but if you have a load you wont be able to access them. Good initiative bad judgement.
Gm still got the column shift in 2018 that's Ridiculous
gm and ram will fight it out for second place...no one comes close to the king of trucks and we all no that ..
Wtf with that interior????? It looks like my old cruze (2012)....
what would you prefer
So stick with your 2012 duh!
Obviously they didn’t follow the trickery GM performed in the toolbox commercial! Wouldn’t want to call BS on the General I guess.
Duramax in a half ton?! Sold!
Is it even a duramax since its an Inline 6?
Yes I believe it is a Duramax
Andrew Ochoa
It is. Only available in the High Country though. So you are now looking at a 60k+ 1500 series truck
I’d rather spend 50k and get a 2500 with diesel in an LT trim
Shit I want the v8 Duramax dam right I'd buy one
In my own opinion this new Silverado was a little bit more of a step up vs the new Rams but that is just me
Andrew DeLorenzo 🙂
make sure and get the optional standard vibration package to go with the new cheezy interior
Maybe if it didn’t look like a Ford F-150. Total ford copycat of a front end
Looks like a tundra
Which makes it great, bigger, meaner
ill stick with my 2018 f150.
HProjectOne I’ll stick with my 2016 F150 Black Platinum FX4
Thank god we have GMC Sierra 2019
This thing looks too good
And to be honest there is nothing out there that is appealing to my eyes
I like how the 2019 ram took a lot of GM's stylin from early model Sierras hahahaha GM makes the best vehicles and are the only ones I'll ever get Chevy's the best!!
The Ram has better design, specially the Rebel which looks awesome!
Did they improve their crappy transmissions
Have we gotten lazy that we need a power tailgate
The Ram 1500 made this truck outdated right on the spot - look at this interior...it feels 10y old compared to what Ram is delivering.
This new exterior also looks....well...a refresh...
GM engineers...you have 9 months to fix up the interior and make it more upscale.
HellBoy The reason the interior is so 'old' is because GM listened to their customers. People said they wanted change, but still wanted the interiors to be more or less the same. And although it may seem outdated to you, for GM customers, they wanted something, so they got it.
Panthermartin77
Lol All American truck 😂, which part ?
1st. It loves screaming around at 4500 and up rpms while towing pretty much nothing.
2. Get 5mpg while pulling measly 6k lbs
3. Takes putting it to the floor to hold speed on any incline.
4. Red sucks
The interior is lackluster but the exterior is nice and if it dont offer at least a390 hp 5.3 then dont waste your money on it. After buying a new ss camaro and getting crap quality ive learned not to like gm after being a loyalist for so long.
chevy rules 👍
4:49 Aluminum body parts? Well at least you will know what's Steel and what's Aluminum when the truck starts to rust and the Aluminum starts to crack from metal fatigue. lol!
LOOK ITS THE NEW F150 TUNDRA RAM RAPTOR SILVERADO!!
Still waiting on the Chevy truck GM showed on the 2013 SEMA show... "Chevy Cheyenne concept" Chevy needs a sport/racing truck
Im here because i wanna buy the chevy, but its interior keeps taking me back to Ram
They look weight out of the truck and didn’t put it back into things that matter....yeah I bet that saved their pockets
they are getting better,,, but most importantly unaffordable
Waldo got a job
I plan to keep my 2004 Dodge Ram for another 15 years. My goal is 30 years. So Auto makers will have to wait for my money.
90% of the people in the comments don't understand what a truck is, a truck is a utility vehicle, not a luxury vehicle, a truck is used for work, it doesn't have to be a looker, so think before you comment, these people try very hard to design these trucks, so don't critsize their work,
unless you can do better.
lel lolololllololololol 1774 damnn thats deep..
