I needed this as a worship leader and singing 2x a week on some weeks. But I didn’t realize about room temp water and diary and even sleep!! I can totally understand ivory whwn she said i never use to do warm ups i grew up where it was a gift so i never warmed up like that!! I about steam showers but this was so good to know, i also have been struggling with hitting certain notes, that i use to be able to do and for the past month have been not doing so well. 😢 but its crazy because i to find my identity in singing but to me it is my love language to GOD. this was sooo ❤❤❤❤ good
MY GOD! This definitely blessed me! Praise God that this episode was actively answering my questions I take to the Lord about my singing. I’ve been on this journey of identity and I know the Lord will allow me to once again be apart of the worship team (that I left because of so many hurts and lack of identity in me) however there is a bit more refining and more truths to uncover that needs to be done. Also I want to encourage someone that is feeling like “I hate the way I sound”… what I have learned is that, it hurts the Lords heart when you come into agreement with the enemy about what comes out of your mouth. Our God is a God of purpose and very strategic and intentional…He designed specifically for your vocal cords to rub at a specific frequency to make the sound that comes from you. And it is pleasing to Him when you use it specially to glorify Him. What I had to first do is ask God “do you even like my sound? Is it pleasing to you” and He surely answered! So please friend ask The Lord of this and let Him tell what he thinks about you. And I pray in His answer it sets you free from the lies that you have believed by so many! I very much appreciate the spiritual and practical support from this episode. It definitely hit when she said “what I knew/ felt in my heart wouldn’t come out my mouth” I’m not that good at adlibs and I like to joke and say “I’m not a runner” these are things that I would like to progress in and comfortably exulting without feeling like I sound silly. And idk if that something that needs to be practiced or if it comes from just spending time with the Lord in song yah know? Anyway I just want to say thank you so much for choosing to walk in obedience and growing in the power of vulnerability! And sharing it with others! ❤️🔥

It’s funny cause I make the same joke about not being a runner lol. I like to say, I skip and I walk. I don’t run like that. That is definitely something to practice. The adlibs, I would say is something that comes out of you. But it starts with getting the Word of God in your heart and mind. Adlibing is just expounding on the song we are singing. That comes from getting the song in your spirit, pulling from your experience with Christ and pulling from the word of God. I pray God keep you in your journey to getting back on the worship team. The note stuff works both ways! As a soprano, we often sing lower register music in church. I often have to ask to raise the key because I can’t hit the lower notes, especially in the first verse. I feel like I’m inadequate in not having the desired range but have learned to speak up (even though sometimes that makes me feel like I’m being difficult).

Sleep is a miracle worker! Even sugar just before singing affects me. Start keeping track of what you’re doing or eating that’s causing issues.
