Head tracking for atmos headphones?! I thought everyone would be wearing The Sphere, by now - a semi-open buckyball of mini-speakers, on a freely rotating gimbal, surrounding the listener's noggin.
I suppose head-tacking cans are more practical... I think the word "atmos" has lost its specific meaning already, which might be a world record, for a new word. When it started, it meant a specific speaker configuration and protocol for routing the sounds. Now it seems to have generalized to mean any audio that features 360° directional sounds (objects), however you manage to implement those.
