    That's great! It is good to see you are so excited over the Predator Raptor 31 (c) I have noticed several use that tool. I hope to see some available at some club locally to prevent having to pay shipping. I may have to order one! Thanks for the video.

    Very nice tool!! But the other one is pretty awsome too ;)
    I'm just starting out this hobby and I love it! I'm also Canadian 👍🏼
    But my digging tool is a garden trowel with a ridged edge and it's not too bad besides not coming with a cover......I have to put it in my bag lol
    Love your videos.

    I like the raptor. Not an everyday carry for me. I only use it in places where spades are not allowed. The sheath wears out quickly. I want my digger to look like a knife and I want others to notice it!

    I have one and so does my wife. She is also a light weight. Since the raptor has a wide cut, it was a little hard for her to push it into the ground so I narrowed hers down just a bit at the widest point. It made a big difference. She can handle it a lot better now. My biggest complaint is that it doesn't fit into my pouch's tool holder. But since I narrowed my wife's predator, I noticed it would fit into my pouch's tool holder. So I narrowed mine down just enough that it also fit. It sure makes it easy to carry and keeps it out of the way. One thing that also helps is to keep a good edge on it so it slices thru the grass roots easier. With the cutting edge geometry of the predator, it makes a noticeable difference. I like that it is scoop shaped which allows it to get the loose dirt out of the hole. I wish they would have reversed the color scheme and painted the steel black and put an orange handle on it.

    • @DiggingCanuck
      @DiggingCanuck  5 років тому +1

      Thank you very much for the tips. I have found it to slice into grass a lot better when the ground is moist. Its tough to dig plugs in very dry soil.

      Not sure of the model, but i know its a Predator..its in the jeep right now..$150. worth every penny..as my pin pointer..lol I've only seen one identical one on youtube..i love how narrow it is at tip..It makes the neatesss tiny holes also capable of doing much larger holes. I hardly use my small Garrett digger..

    Awesome. I've always wanted a lesche shovel. I use a little flower bed shovel from Walmart. One of my friends has the lesche shovel (the older one) I used it. It was so much better than what I use. Can't wait to see you use that new one. I think your ring will be there on the 11th 👍😁

    I have one , I don't care for it much . It seems a bit to large in areas where the dirt is dry . Hopefully you have soft dirt when using. Let me know what you thought about it after putting it to the test. Thanks, Big Mex Detects

    • @DiggingCanuck
      @DiggingCanuck  4 роки тому +1

      I agree with you that it is difficult to use in dry ground. Very hard for me to stab the earth/grass and make a plug. It excels in moist soil !!! Cant beat how much soil you can scoop out !!!

      @@DiggingCanuck I Sorta laughed a little when I saw the video. I'm a 6'4" 285 pound man who is very strong. I nearly broke my wrist trying to cut a.plug in dry dirt lol . The smaller leshe works in any type if ground. The Raptor rarely sees the light of day . Im thinking about Welding a long handle and turning it into a.shovel lol. Good luck Liz

    I really like your thinking on this. I've seen a few guys on UA-cam using "this style" as well but none my buddies I hunt with yet.
    I really love my Whites digger but I'll admit there's been a few times this year that I would prob have preferred something more like this Raptor.
    Just last weekend I was at a new permission and the owner had her two young kids out there.(watching me cause they were so excited over it),
    and every time I pulled out that "monster" digger I could tell the mother was "Concerned"!...
    Also, the Whites digger is pretty darn stout so I doubt the Raptor would be much more weight at all.
    I may just opt for one of these next, if for nothing else, the option to bring right tool to the "specific" job...
    Thanks for the Unboxing vid!:)....

    • @DiggingCanuck
      @DiggingCanuck  7 років тому +1

      Thank you Dirk. There have been times in some busy parks where I know the people are looking and thinking I am pulling out a dagger. So when you say the mother was "concerned", I totally get it. The Whites digger is a very good tool as well - like you said "stout". I agree that it is always good to have the proper tool for the job.

    Hmmmm! With a name like that I was at least expecting a flying dinosaur. Instead it is just a garden trowel. Liz if you had trouble with the kniffy thingy how the hell are you going to push olde snub nose into the dirt? You need some weight. I just got a hori hori now that looks like a knife. If a member of the public saw me using my Hori Hori they would need to be lost. I will stick to my pick, now that is a weapon and reversed a damn handy seat.
