Hi Liz..
It's a beautiful digging tool..
The Raptor..
Thanks for sharing the review.
Cheers Tony.👍🍺⛏🇦🇺
Thank you very much Tony !!!
Digging Canuck
You are most welcome Liz.👍
Looks great and happy that Raptor got a different option for our friends in Canada! Can't wait to see it in action! Thanks for sharing!
Not having to pay duty is a blessing !!!!!
That's great! It is good to see you are so excited over the Predator Raptor 31 (c) I have noticed several use that tool. I hope to see some available at some club locally to prevent having to pay shipping. I may have to order one! Thanks for the video.
Shipping costs can really make an item unaffordable !!! Thank you very much for watching and leaving a comment :)
Looks good Liz, Go dig some holes!!! LOL Best Wishes, Good Luck & Happy Huntin' Lee
Hahaha
looks like it should work good, but i think you might still also want a knife stile digger for finesing around roots and rocks, HH Liz
So keep the one Lesche handy ?
I would. Maybey at least keep it in the car or something. you know you can`t leave that diamond and gold ring in the hole under those roots!!!!LOL HH
Very nice tool!! But the other one is pretty awsome too ;)
I'm just starting out this hobby and I love it! I'm also Canadian 👍🏼
But my digging tool is a garden trowel with a ridged edge and it's not too bad besides not coming with a cover......I have to put it in my bag lol
Love your videos.
Always nice to hear from a fellow Canadian :-) Good luck with your digging !!!!!
Thanks so much! 😉
I look forward to seeing how this works out for you Liz :)
Thank you !!
I like the raptor. Not an everyday carry for me. I only use it in places where spades are not allowed. The sheath wears out quickly. I want my digger to look like a knife and I want others to notice it!
I agree. The sheath is a big letdown!!! It sure does make a nice plug tho !!!
Nice .....Happy digging
Thanks Devin !!!
The Predator Raptor is a great park digging tool Liz😉 I've seen it in use by Bill if Dirtfishing on UA-cam with great results.🙌 I don't like the lesche😝 I'm sure you will like your new Raptor😀 Happy Hunting My Friend 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸
I have fallen off the Lesche bandwagon myself......Looking forward to digging some Raptor holes !!! Take care Johnny :-)
looks like a great tool
I look forward to digging many plugs :-)
Best digger ever I would be lost without mine.
Yes, you do have one....I couldn't remember who else had one.
Looks like a great digging tool, hope it holds up well for a long time! Maybe one day I'll upgrade from my $8 garden knife haha!
I started with a $10 fiskars.
Digging Canuck well we all had to start somewhere! Haha good luck out there, sweet digging!
You might want to watch my "What's In Your Backyard" video.......you are mentioned.
Digging Canuck oh shoot! I must've missed that one, I'm headed there right now!
I have one and so does my wife. She is also a light weight. Since the raptor has a wide cut, it was a little hard for her to push it into the ground so I narrowed hers down just a bit at the widest point. It made a big difference. She can handle it a lot better now. My biggest complaint is that it doesn't fit into my pouch's tool holder. But since I narrowed my wife's predator, I noticed it would fit into my pouch's tool holder. So I narrowed mine down just enough that it also fit. It sure makes it easy to carry and keeps it out of the way. One thing that also helps is to keep a good edge on it so it slices thru the grass roots easier. With the cutting edge geometry of the predator, it makes a noticeable difference. I like that it is scoop shaped which allows it to get the loose dirt out of the hole. I wish they would have reversed the color scheme and painted the steel black and put an orange handle on it.
Thank you very much for the tips. I have found it to slice into grass a lot better when the ground is moist. Its tough to dig plugs in very dry soil.
My big shovel is a 'Predator' It will never brake, and is awesome, eats roots for lunch. havent sharpened it in three years..Hope it works out..;) GL&HH Michael
Do you have the Piranha ?
Not sure of the model, but i know its a Predator..its in the jeep right now..$150. worth every penny..as my pin pointer..lol I've only seen one identical one on youtube..i love how narrow it is at tip..It makes the neatesss tiny holes also capable of doing much larger holes. I hardly use my small Garrett digger..
I haven't seen anyone else with your shovel, but it looks amazing.
If i remember, next week i'll do a little video on it..;))
OH MY.... My envious buttons are being pushed!! :) I have wanted one of those for years!! I think they seem like the "best" digger one could get! I think his will make your digging a lot easier~ GL&HH
I think so too !!!
Awesome. I've always wanted a lesche shovel. I use a little flower bed shovel from Walmart. One of my friends has the lesche shovel (the older one) I used it. It was so much better than what I use. Can't wait to see you use that new one. I think your ring will be there on the 11th 👍😁
I received your package yesterday. Hugely busy weekend, so I will open it (and film it) this Monday !!!!!
It looks nice. The maker of it should have put a saw like cutting edge on one side. But still nice.
And once again thanks for sending the token.
I actually saw someone modify it and put little notches on the sides. Glad the token made it safely !!!
Great purchase you will love it, cheers Chad
Thank you very much Chad !!!
Christmas came early!
Congrats, looks nice!
Yes it did....and not having to pay duty is a beautiful thing !!!
I have one , I don't care for it much . It seems a bit to large in areas where the dirt is dry . Hopefully you have soft dirt when using. Let me know what you thought about it after putting it to the test. Thanks, Big Mex Detects
I agree with you that it is difficult to use in dry ground. Very hard for me to stab the earth/grass and make a plug. It excels in moist soil !!! Cant beat how much soil you can scoop out !!!
@@DiggingCanuck I Sorta laughed a little when I saw the video. I'm a 6'4" 285 pound man who is very strong. I nearly broke my wrist trying to cut a.plug in dry dirt lol . The smaller leshe works in any type if ground. The Raptor rarely sees the light of day . Im thinking about Welding a long handle and turning it into a.shovel lol. Good luck Liz
@@petedetects7012 Beauty when the ground is wet though !!!
@@petedetects7012 That is a brilliant idea!
@@DiggingCanuckit makes perfect plugs in appropriate ground and spades are not allowed.
Very cool!! I'm jealous!!
:-) Apart from the added weight on my belt, I think it will be okay.
Was thinking of getting one myself. Seems like a good tool, except for lack of serrated edges.
I saw someone modify it by putting notches on both sides
I may have to get one, in my first video I showed my digging tool, lol Ive had it for three years now, maybe time for a new one!
I wish a Canadian dealer would carry the Predator product line !!!!!
congrats! hope it goes well! can't wait to see it live in action!
Thank you !!
I really like your thinking on this. I've seen a few guys on UA-cam using "this style" as well but none my buddies I hunt with yet.
I really love my Whites digger but I'll admit there's been a few times this year that I would prob have preferred something more like this Raptor.
Just last weekend I was at a new permission and the owner had her two young kids out there.(watching me cause they were so excited over it),
and every time I pulled out that "monster" digger I could tell the mother was "Concerned"!...
Also, the Whites digger is pretty darn stout so I doubt the Raptor would be much more weight at all.
I may just opt for one of these next, if for nothing else, the option to bring right tool to the "specific" job...
Thanks for the Unboxing vid!:)....
Thank you Dirk. There have been times in some busy parks where I know the people are looking and thinking I am pulling out a dagger. So when you say the mother was "concerned", I totally get it. The Whites digger is a very good tool as well - like you said "stout". I agree that it is always good to have the proper tool for the job.
Works great.....but only in soft dirt.......hard dirt....... you better have your model 31
You are exactly right on that !!! Works like a charm except for dry grass !!!!!
great vid, i have been wanting a raptor for a long time , not having anything that looks like a knife in a park is a plus.
Alright Liz, I will be curious how you like this one! Happy Hunting
Will definitely let everyone know !!!
Will someone please let me know where I can get one of these? Thx!
Contact PREDATOR TOOLS on their website. Great digging tool !!!
Here's the actual link: www.predatortools.com/collections/handtools/products/model-31-c-raptor
Thank you so much for the link, BUT THE PRICE!------ $72.00 ???
I don't know..............
It is expensive but you will never purchase another. Predator tools are lifetime items.
Ok dang it! You are going to mess around and talk me into dropping $72 for a digger! Please stop it! lol :-)
Great review Liz! For those of you who are interested in getting one of these! Our 250 subs GAW is only missing 4 subs and we will ship this exact model to the winner! Cheers and happy hunting!
NBmetaldetecting RIGHT ON !!!
You are correct about DIGGS4EVER, and in his latest video here:
ua-cam.com/video/HfQhKGeTEy4/v-deo.html
He is digging up to one foot holes with his Raptor!
I love the face that you can dig a deeper hole !!!
Nice video
Thank you Karim :-)
I've been dying for one of these but can't quite part with that much money. How do you feel about it now that you've had it for a while? Is it worth the money?
It is great in moist soil, but when it's dry....it's very hard digging. On the plus side it does move a lot of soil.
Hmmmm! With a name like that I was at least expecting a flying dinosaur. Instead it is just a garden trowel. Liz if you had trouble with the kniffy thingy how the hell are you going to push olde snub nose into the dirt? You need some weight. I just got a hori hori now that looks like a knife. If a member of the public saw me using my Hori Hori they would need to be lost. I will stick to my pick, now that is a weapon and reversed a damn handy seat.
The pick suits your conditions perfectly.
