I have a friend in IT support. I suggested to him to run the script and when in need, send customers a shortcut instead of instructing them to go to deep menus.
Using a script to provide shortcuts to customers can be really helpful in saving time but it does mean they won't learn where to find these settings on their own, so they may still need support for the same issue in the future. It's a trade-off between quick fixes and empowering customers with knowledge.
@@Chilledoutredhead That's not exactly fair, in my experience anyway. Oh, there are those, but a lot of customers are just focused on *following* the instructions in order to get the problem fixed. If some of it finds its way to _long-term_ in the process, great... but it's not the primary mission, especially if productivity is on the line.
Please upvote to raise awareness that some scammers are using a segment from one of ThioJoe's videos about VPNs as bait in an ad about MIX VPN. I will try to leave proof in response comments but UA-cam keeps deleting them.

This is very great. on my future installations, right after a debloat i'll run your script. Fun fuct: at work some years ago i made a little always on top program to open the "switch window" thing, but not knowing the command, i simply simulated WIN+TAB keypress
4:17 this applications folder will be great to combine with revo uninstaller to clean out old leftover files from deleted programs. Just go into Hunter mode and snipe away.
Fact: there's a "delegate folder that appears in Computer" folder, which i got using your previous script for shell and CLSID links (It's explorer shell:::{b155bdf8-02f0-451e-9a26-ae317cfd7779}) There's also a "This Device" folder (explorer shell:::{f8278c54-a712-415b-b593-b77a2be0dda9}), which is just a current user folder, The "Portable Devices" folder (explorer shell:::{35786D3C-B075-49b9-88DD-029876E11C01}) no idea what it's for, maybe connected phones?, and the "printhood delegate folder" (explorer shell:::{ed50fc29-b964-48a9-afb3-15ebb9b97f36}). To sum up: i have no comments i gotta go confront the windows CEO...
For me, the "Portable Devices" folder shows my secondary hard drive which I use for mass storage, and allows me to access it in the same mode with which you access MTP devices (meaning I can't open command prompt in there, and copying out a file does not give me the option to see how fast I'm copying it). I think it would also be good to mention that I have SATA hotplug enabled on all SATA ports. My primary C drive is also hooked up to a SATA port, but it does not show up in that folder, probably because it has my C partition on it.
IIRC "Portable Devices" is just holdover terminology from early XP when people were still using PDAs, in almost every other instance this has been re-labeled "Removable Devices" instead.

Hi Theo! This is super, can't wait to give it a bash first thing tomorrow morning at work! I'm hoping I could create a simple .bat file script I can pin to the tadkbar that could restart a specific service that freezes up from time to time. Cheers!
You are a hero! I would love to find the hide n seek for finding everything hiding, encrypted and dynamically created within the registry, and certainly the ones which hide dynamically.
4:11 App Folder is kinda OP, almost like app Drawer in Android; well technically app drawer from Start menu but in the form of folder. which is awesome
The startup folder use to be a very common function on older windows. It was the straight forward way to automatically start up applications. But these days Windows purposefully hides it
This looks awesome! Which versions of Windows will this work on? [Can I go back to XP thru 10?] The opportunity to brick a computer looks pretty obvious so gentle steps and backups required on the journey.
Any of those "Shell:" folder locations can be run by prepending and appending "%", so for example: %AppData%. That way, it's easier to use it in a CMD prompt for example, but it works in any address bar too.
Side Note: For MS "GodMode" the Name can be change. It's the "number" that sets the folder as "GodMode." Example: DogMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} will be the same.
you are amazing! How long did it take you to work on it? While you have to record clips for UA-cam it's really impressive! Thank you for all the trouble! I'm sure it will help me and a lot of people! If an answer to the following question pops up on the top of your head, I would be very happy (gpt and google do not have a working answer), I am looking for a shortcut to activate the hotspot on my computer (for the purpose of remote control software that I am building) and i can't find it.
We need a techinial explanation about why these folders and shortcuts act specially and not like normal folders and shortcuts. Basically an explanation of how your script works behind the scene.
