Are your sure the switch was 20amp 36VDC? I'm on my third 60V Greenworks blower and the switch on the first two went bad. Those switches were 20amp 60VDC. The switches are not built well and are poorly sealed. If I had a ton of switches I could repair a lot of GW leaf blowers. I did take one apart and there was grit and grime all inside. I cleaned it but could only get it to produce about half the normal power. The Turbo switch worked great. Nice video for those DIYers.
Is it possible to spray contact cleaner into the trigger switch? Mine is getting a little flaky when triggering near highest CFM. Tried to find a replacement switch online to have for WHEN it finally goes bad... which I'm sure will be right in the middle of leaf season. No luck on finding a replacement switch. Hoping some contact cleaner will fix it, if possible.
How the heck did you get the body apart? I tried and tried in 95 degree weather (inside garage) and finally gave up. Will you post a disassembly video?
I actually wanted to see the screws part. I’ve removed all the screws I can see and the two metal clips but it’s still hanging on where the springs and battery contacts are. Not sure what is keeping the housing together at this point???
@@PBMechTech I'm surprised I didn't break the "case" - I am mechanically inclined and completely missed that screw. Kind of humbling. I'm gonna tackle this rascal again this weekend. Great video BTW.

Very helpful video i have a 60v GreenWorks backpack leaf blower screw was stuck in motor thanks for posting video.
Happy to help. Thanks for watching.
Do you know if the motor is a bldc or is it a split-coil/tapped magnetised DC motor?

Where can I order a blower fan?

Lol! There was a screw hiding under the warning label.
Of course after I found the hidden screw on my blower, I found the hidden place where you mentioned it in the video😂

Sorry man. Just now seeing this string of comments. Yeah that hidden one took me a bit to find.
No sweat. Thanks for the reply!
I have the 80v and cant get it apart. Its stuck on the battery release lever. I sucked the belt into the fan and trying to fix it myself. Thank John
Having the same issue and I don't want to force it. You have any luck?
Can you please tell me where i can buy the fan part?
I have a broken fan I need to know where I would be able to buy a new one. Can anybody help?
I would try Amazon. Might be able to find one there or try Craigslist for a broken one you might be able to scavenge a fan from.
I can’t get the cap on the fan with a Phillips screwdriver
You may need to brace the fan using something else to get enough torque into it. Just be careful with the plastic
Saved me 200$!!!
Happy to help
OMG. I should have read the other comments first. I missed the screw under the label. Man, I spent close to 2 hours trying to figure it out.
That sneaky screw almost had me break my case the first time. Glad you figured it out.
