1969 Talladega 428 Cobra Jet

Ford built 750 1969 Talladega's for the street to be legal to race in NASCAR. They were powered by a non ram air 428 Cobra Jet with a C6 transmission. The front end was extended and the grille and headlights had a rubber seal around them for better aerodynamics. The front bumper was a rear bumper narrowed. NASCAR measured the ground clearance from the rocker panel. The Talladega rocker panel and front fenders were modified so the Talladega would sit lower than a stock Torino for better aerodynamics. For some reason they added staggered shocks and it wasn’t a very neat job.
