I was born hard of hearing as well and I just got my set of aids! Everyone has been super supportive but I have to admit it has been a hard adjustment and I am a little insecure about people seeing them. I hope I can learn to be as confident as you eventually! You are beautiful :)
awk thank you and thank you for watching you will be confident and once you are you'll never notice them hope everything goes well with the new hearing aids xx how is the sound for you
Danielle Todd I think the hardest thing so far is getting used to hearing my own voice so amplified and there are so many new sounds that it can be a bit overwhelming trying to process all of them! I know with time I will learn to adjust with them :)
Thank you so much, Danielle, for putting your video out here. I'm deaf-blind (severe-profound hearing loss, and am legally blind, with a cataract starting in my right eye), and sometimes really struggle with my acceptance of my dual sensory challenges... I even had white cane training back in March, and when I use it out in public, I feel very vulnerable and self-conscious. Sometimes, I'm ok with my hearing aids, and other times, not so much. Being a confident self-advocate is another part that I struggle with. Oddly enough, I am a weird deafie that finds big HAs attractive...it...turns me on, to see others who also wear HAs, as I think, "hey, they understand part of what I go through, too." Forgive me if that's too odd. XD But, you're too right...it's a process that always evolves, acceptance, that is, and I'm thankful that you've helped me a bit more in my own journey. :)
Dang I hated over the ear hearing aid since I had both surgery’s on my ears and left a humongous scar , it bothered it so much I got an in the ear hearing aid it is perfect honestly
Love ur videos on herring aids as I was born with a herring loss from birth was bullied at school when I was younger so did not where them I'm now 32 and my hering has got alot worse so today I had some new ones given to me as my old ones where out of date what I'm trying to say is I didn't where them for years so was use to the herring loss now I'm wherein them agin it's like some one turned the volume up to like 100 lol will this settle down the more I where them ?
Tom Wallis yes it will ... i found that between 2 -4 weeks of wearing mine everyday things started to even out a bit ... some pitches are still a bit much, but very tolerable And i dont mind telling people to take it down a few notches either lol. Most people (friends) are sympathetic to the heightened hearing.
An amazing message to go with a
stellar hearing aid!
